Bella is a sweet, playful black lab mix who would do best in a quiet forever home. Bella was under socialized as a puppy and humans are a little scary to her. It takes her awhile to warm up to new people and she definitely prefers females. Bella likes males as long as they are laid back and easy going. She doesn't like to go places where there are crowds. She's a homebody that doesn't enjoy the hustle and bustle of noisy children and lots of company. A home with small children or a family that frequently enjoys entertaining at their home would not be ideal. She prefers to be crated or have a quiet area to hang out in when there are people over visiting. Bella is NOT aggressive but can be reactive to strangers who don't give her enough space and time to warm up. She has worked with a trainer and is doing better at retreating when a situation causes her anxiety. Bella would benefit from additional training with her new family to help her make the transition to a new environment. Bella is almost 2 years old now and loves to play and play and play with her furry foster brothers. She MUST have a playful dog in her new home. She has a lot of energy and it would be difficult for her humans to give her enough exercise and attention. A large fenced in backyard is ideal with a fence high enough that Bella can't jump over. A home with senior dogs or dogs who really don't like other dogs probably will not work as Bella loves to be the center of attention and doesn't understand why ALL dogs don't love to run and play and be chased. Bella loves her toys, especially tennis balls and tug of war ropes and she really enjoys her walks around the neighborhood, especially when she can pick up the scent of a squirrel or chipmunk and follow it. Bella is housebroken and knows several commands. She loves getting treats and is eager to please and follow directions. She is spayed and up-to-date on her shots. She weighs around 55 lbs right now. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit cards. Dooney (Dunamis) is a 3 ½ year old mix breed of German Shorthaired Pointer/Australian Shepherd/Coonhound, who is full of energy and loves to run. He is extremely smart and loves to play with his toys, mostly his strong durable chew toys. At 6 months of age, it was discovered Dooney had a sensitive tummy and after getting him on the right food, he now enjoys food that is easily digested as he has a tendency to eat a bit fast. He has a healthy appetite now and enjoys a boiled egg every night with dinner, but is not able to tolerate table scraps. Dooney loves children and has about as much energy as they do and loves to play hide and seek. When he is not running or playing with his toys, he loves a good ear and belly rub. He has always been the only animal in the household and has been quite spoiled, so a home with no kitties or other doggies would be the best fit for Dooney. He has been known to be more aggressive towards other dogs. He is quite protective of his humans and would be a great guard dog. He is house trained and already knows many tricks, but could benefit from additional training and behavioral lessons. He knows how to run with humans while on a leash and loves outside activities, especially playing in the snow. He is up to date on all vaccinations and is actively being preventatively treated monthly for fleas and ticks. Dooney is neutered and is also microchipped. He is looking for a new forever home with a BIG yard to run to release all of his energy. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. Happy is a lab mix weighing about 35 pounds and is about 3 years old. We do not know Happy's background, but her behaviors suggest that she has not had many positive experiences in her life. Happy arrived to our rescue hairless, emaciated, and pregnant. Happy was a wonderful mom to a litter of 7 puppies. She has gained weight. And her hair is steadily growing back. Happy is a shy and timid girl and is gaining confidence daily. Happy would benefit from a home that is willing to take her to a new level of confidence building. A home that can offer her one on one attention, confidence in leash training, and understand what it is like to be a loved and cherished family member. Happy is crate trained and potty trained. She finds comfort in her stuffed toys and will carry them everywhere. Due to her timidness, a privacy fenced backyard is a requirement for her. She needs to feel secure and be safe should she feel she needs to run. She enjoys her doggie treats and looks forward to her crate treat (rawhide twist with chicken skin) every day. Happy is quite sweet and each day that you see her grow into a "real" dog you can't help but be so proud of her and her progress. You will not be disappointed in helping Happy become the dog she was meant to be. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. Joey is an energetic lab/pit mix around 3-4 years old. He has had quite the journey in life so far and he is ready to settle into a home of his own! Joey was spotted in my neighborhood a few weeks before September 1. My neighbor made a Facebook post asking for help for him-he had barely any hair on his back end, was very skinny, and terrified of everything-you could see the fear in his eyes. The next morning, he showed up on my front porch (of course!). He slept there that night-I put food out and watched him scarf it down from the window. If he heard anything, he ran and disappeared. No one could get close to him. I put food out for a couple weeks, and he always slept on the porch. I was getting ready to leave for vacation, and I was worried about his safety while I was away, so I laid a trail of roast beef into my backyard. I watched my cameras for 5 hours-he finally showed up, I snuck around the house and successfully trapped him in my backyard. He paced for a while looking for escape, but did settle and sleep on the back porch. For the next several weeks, I fed him 4x a day-but he wouldn't get within 200 feet of me. He would watch and wait for me to be out of sight, then come eat and head to the back of the yard to hide when he was done. But little by little, he started to come down when I called him-as long as I sat quietly with my back to him. Then one day, we had a breakthrough-I asked him to sit, shake, lay down-and he DID! From that point on, he was a happy, normal pup with me! He was still scared of other people but grew braver every day. Joey is great with social female dogs from 4lbs to 60lbs. He has no idea he's big and can hurt kitties with his excitement, so although he has been fine with them, we would advise no kitties unless you have dog savvy kitties or have experience training a dog to be gentle around them. He has been great with small children however he again, is a large excitable dog and will accidentally knock them down if not carefully supervised. Joey does well with correction, and is a fast learner. He rides perfectly in the car and is learning to walk well on a gentle leader harness. He has springs in his feet and can jump a 4 foot chain link fence, but does well with 6 foot fences. He has done excellent with crate training and has not been destructive-he needs this as his safe secure place. He is a big boy with a lot of energy and he loves to flop on the couch and chew on a bone. Joey is a special boy that needs a home that will give him time to bond with them, and understands that it will take him time to adjust to a new life. He will be completely devoted to his family and he deserves a home and family to call his own! All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative and microchipped. A dog's adoption fee is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. Katie is a 1.5-year-old Carolina Dog and weighs about 25 pounds. True to her breed, she is deeply loyal to her own people but is suspicious of visitors, so her people will need to restrict her when visitors come over, either in a crate or separate room, until proper introductions can be made. Katie is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats, and her potty behaviors are flawless. Her energy level is higher than most dogs so she will do best in a home with other dogs to play with, a fenced yard, and a daily leash walk. She is making good progress on her leash etiquette with a Lucas Agnew slip leash. Although Katie has some impressive climbing and jumping abilities, she shows no interest in getting out of her yard as long as her people and playmates are around. Based on her two very positive longterm foster experiences it is clear this pup will do best with adopters who can give her a clear structure, lots of affection, and firm guidance. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative ( puppies age 7 months and older) and microchipped. Adoption fee is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards.
