Bella is a sweet, playful black lab mix who would do best in a quiet forever home. Bella was under socialized as a puppy and humans are a little scary to her. It takes her awhile to warm up to new people and she definitely prefers females. Bella likes males as long as they are laid back and easy going. She doesn't like to go places where there are crowds. She's a homebody that doesn't enjoy the hustle and bustle of noisy children and lots of company. A home with small children or a family that frequently enjoys entertaining at their home would not be ideal. She prefers to be crated or have a quiet area to hang out in when there are people over visiting. Bella is NOT aggressive but can be reactive to strangers who don't give her enough space and time to warm up. She has worked with a trainer and is doing better at retreating when a situation causes her anxiety. Bella would benefit from additional training with her new family to help her make the transition to a new environment. Bella is almost 2 years old now and loves to play and play and play with her furry foster brothers. She MUST have a playful dog in her new home. She has a lot of energy and it would be difficult for her humans to give her enough exercise and attention. A large fenced in backyard is ideal with a fence high enough that Bella can't jump over. A home with senior dogs or dogs who really don't like other dogs probably will not work as Bella loves to be the center of attention and doesn't understand why ALL dogs don't love to run and play and be chased. Bella loves her toys, especially tennis balls and tug of war ropes and she really enjoys her walks around the neighborhood, especially when she can pick up the scent of a squirrel or chipmunk and follow it. Bella is housebroken and knows several commands. She loves getting treats and is eager to please and follow directions. She is spayed and up-to-date on her shots. She weighs around 55 lbs right now. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit cards. Dooney (Dunamis) is a 3 ½ year old mix breed of German Shorthaired Pointer/Australian Shepherd/Coonhound, who is full of energy and loves to run. He is extremely smart and loves to play with his toys, mostly his strong durable chew toys. At 6 months of age, it was discovered Dooney had a sensitive tummy and after getting him on the right food, he now enjoys food that is easily digested as he has a tendency to eat a bit fast. He has a healthy appetite now and enjoys a boiled egg every night with dinner, but is not able to tolerate table scraps. Dooney loves children and has about as much energy as they do and loves to play hide and seek. When he is not running or playing with his toys, he loves a good ear and belly rub. He has always been the only animal in the household and has been quite spoiled, so a home with no kitties or other doggies would be the best fit for Dooney. He has been known to be more aggressive towards other dogs. He is quite protective of his humans and would be a great guard dog. He is house trained and already knows many tricks, but could benefit from additional training and behavioral lessons. He knows how to run with humans while on a leash and loves outside activities, especially playing in the snow. He is up to date on all vaccinations and is actively being preventatively treated monthly for fleas and ticks. Dooney is neutered and is also microchipped. He is looking for a new forever home with a BIG yard to run to release all of his energy. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. Eleanor is a 6-7 year old Cocker Spaniel that weighs about 20 pounds. Eleanor likes to be with her family. She needs a good potty schedule in order for her to have good potty habits. If she can be let out every few hours, that would be best. Eleanor enjoys walking on her leash and investigating things around the yard. She is tolerant of dogs in her foster home, but a single dog home would be best for her as she can get a bit snarky if others challenge her. She does get along well with dog savvy cats. Eleanor has a cherry eye that will be corrected, once that is corrected, she will need eye drops indefinitely. Eleanor also has allergies and takes a Claritin every day, she enjoys her pill in turkey deli meat. She prefers Alpos Come and Get It dog food and will be quite stubborn if you feed her something else. She has a gregarious nature and will give you sweet little kisses when given the opportunity. She enjoys a soft doggy bed and a tasty doggie treat. She will need routine grooming and does well with bath time. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. Happy is a lab mix weighing about 35 pounds and is about 3 years old. We do not know Happy's background, but her behaviors suggest that she has not had many positive experiences in her life. Happy arrived to our rescue hairless, emaciated, and pregnant. Happy was a wonderful mom to a litter of 7 puppies. She has gained weight. And her hair is steadily growing back. Happy is a shy and timid girl and is gaining confidence daily. Happy would benefit from a home that is willing to take her to a new level of confidence building. A home that can offer her one on one attention, confidence in leash training, and understand what it is like to be a loved and cherished family member. Happy is crate trained and potty trained. She finds comfort in her stuffed toys and will carry them everywhere. Due to her timidness, a privacy fenced backyard is a requirement for her. She needs to feel secure and be safe should she feel she needs to run. She enjoys her doggie treats and looks forward to her crate treat (rawhide twist with chicken skin) every day. Happy is quite sweet and each day that you see her grow into a "real" dog you can't help but be so proud of her and her progress. You will not be disappointed in helping Happy become the dog she was meant to be. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. Harper is a strikingly beautiful girl whose looks suggest a Manchester or Fox Terrier and/or a Basenji. She is about a year and a half old and weighs 35 pounds. Her first several months with Heartland were spent learning to live with humans and allowing human touch. Now she is very comfortable with her one caretaker and is ready to transfer that skill to a new home and new people. Harper is good with dogs and cats, has great potty skills, and is remarkably quick about learning routines and basic commands. Leash walks are the highlight of her day and she can hardly contain her excitement when the time comes. Her new home will require at least one other friendly dog and a securely fenced yard, as she will be a flight risk until she becomes comfortable in her new setting. Harper will do best in a quiet home with just a couple people, and they will need to be willing to give her plenty of time to get comfortable. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards.
