Sweet Bindi is a hero!!  This lovely lady was in a high kill shelter in Virginia where she had surgery for infection from a failed pregnancy. She was paired up with an orphaned kitten named Puma and quickly adopted her surrogate baby.  Bindi and Puma were pulled from the shelter by a rescue partner and made their way up north to Sweet Paws. She was an excellent mama to her adopted baby, Puma. Days after Bindi arrived in Massachusetts we had a critical emergency with a pregnant cat. "Momma Cat" underwent an emergency C section at Riverside Veterinary Clinic to save her life and her babies. Momma Cat survived surgery but couldn't care for her 5 newborns so we crossed our fingers and brought two of the kittens to Bindi. Bindi's adopted kitten Puma was 6 weeks old at the time so we weren't sure how Bindi would handle two more additions. Bindi took the orphaned babies into her family and saved two more lives !!!  Bindi is a Sweet Paws Rescue hero!  Can you find it in your heart to be her hero?   Bindi is in foster in Haverhill, MA .  ***Momma Cat was the C-section pregnant cat. She survived her ordeal and has since been adopted into a wonderful home where she is being treated as a queen. ***All 5 of Momma Cat's babies survived ! The other three went to a lovely mother named Jelly Bean.  show less

**adoption pending** “A kitten is, in the animal world, what a rosebud is in the garden."  ― Robert Southey  Everybody loves kittens, and it's not hard to see why! Bringing home a kitten (or two!) means your home is about to be 1000% more adorable. Because kittens are much happier with a feline friend, we only adopt kittens who are under 4 months old out in pairs, or to families who already have a resident friendly cat playmate. If you are looking for a solo cat, please consider one of our friendly available adults! All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. If the kitten you are adopting has not been spayed or neutered on adoption day, Sweet Paws will arrange for and cover the cost of the surgery at your convenience at one of our veterinary clinics (Riverside Veterinary Clinic in Haverhill or Newburyport Veterinary Clinic). We require that all kittens are spayed or neutered by 6 months. Sweet Paws is entirely staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting. Our adoption fee is $250 for one kitten, or $350 for a pair. show less

Kitten season is here!!! We have multiple mothers nursing litters of kittens as well as kittens being vetted in Missisissippi who are waitiing for their freedom ride up north. Many of our kittens do not make it on our website as they are adopted by approved adopters who were waiting for the perfect kitten to come along. Please fill out an application to be informed about upcoming litters and transports!  All of our kittens will be up to date on vaccines on adoption day, but keep in mind that kittens will require multiple vaccines vet visits over the course of their first year. If the kitten you are interested in is not spayed and neutered prior to adoption then we will arrange for the surgery at your convenience at one of our vetrinary clinics (Riverside Veterinary Clinic or Newburyport Veterinary Clinic.) All kittens must be spayed neutered by maturity (6 months)  We do not adopt kittens younger than 4-5 months as "only" cats in a household. If you do not have a friendly resident cat, then we will adopt young kittens as pairs. Kittens are so much happier with another feline friend and it is less work when they have each other to entertain and don't get lonely !  Our adoption fee is offset to help defray the cost of adding 2 pets to your hom -  $250 for one kitten, $350 for a pair *** Kittens shown in photos are from past transports and are not available for adoption show less
