Bam Bam: Meet Bam Bam:  Bam Bam has a backstory that would break your heart. Bam Bam has been under fed and malnourished his entire life. He was finally seized by the shelter and has so much love to give its heart-wrenching. He deserves to be showered with affection and loved unconditionally.  Despite his sad story, he has the best temperament. He is trusting, loving, and so gentle. Here is what his foster says about him. Bam Bam is a very sweet boy. He craves attention and lights up when you talk to him and give him pets. He does not jump up which is fantastic as he’s about 60lbs. He is underweight by about 10lbs according to the vet and he looks for food all the time. He thrives off of “good boy” praises and knows how to sit. Does well riding in the car, around other dogs and is housebroken.  He is adjusting to sleeping in a kennel but has to be bribed to go in.  His skin is currently healing from flea dermatitis and he’s on an antibiotic to help with any infection. He’s really gentle and will take treats from your hand. If your looking for a big ole cuddle dog, he’s your man. Bam Bam loves people and other dogs. Bam Bam is up to date on all his shots and neutered. If your interested in making this sweet boy part of your family please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application. Please note that you must own your home and have a fenced in yard.  show less

Meet Dior! Dior is a pit lab mix, she’s almost 2 years old. She is a rescue bait dog that was put in a shelter due to be euthanized. She is so ready to find a forever home! She is so energetic and loves being outside! She has been through a lot, she needs someone who is patient and gentle, give her confidence and consistency. She loves cuddling on the couch. She absolutely adores car rides and hikes. she plays well with multiple toys and loves the color orange. She loves getting little training treats and is grasping commands such as (sit, wait/hold, lay down, and gentle). Dior would thrive in a home with NO other pets! Her current foster has smaller animals such as gerbils and reptiles, she has no issue with them in her space. But cats get her too overstimulated. If introduced properly and given the time she could live with one other dog her size, but that dog would also have to be submissive. Dior is potty trained as well as crate trained. She is a resource guard, but responds well to “WE’ER DONE” (with her attitude)! She is so sweet, she loves belly rubs. She loves kids. Loves walking in creeks, but does not like the hose. This princess can not wait find her family!   Can you be my hero? Meet Gracie:  Hi! My name is Gracie, but my foster moms call me  Lil’ Mama or Mama. When I got to their house late on the 4th of July, I had six of my puppies with me. I was very sick and didn’t really understand how to be a mama dog. Some of my puppies went to the Rainbow Bridge and the others went to live with an angel lady who took great care of them. I was very sad at first, but once I got know know my foster doggie sisters, my heart started to heal. I am finally learning what it’s like to be a real pet! I love to be close and snuggle with my people. I like to run and play with the other dogs in the backyard. I am quite submissive and great with the other dogs. I would love to have a new sister or brother to play with!  My foster mom says I am the sweetest girl. I don’t have food aggression or any other type of aggression. I love people and dogs. I’m not sure I’ve ever been around a cat. I will let you hold my paws, clip my toenails, check my teeth and ears, and most importantly, I will let you rub my belly!  I happily get into my kennel when it’s time for my foster mom to go to work, especially if she gives me a treat! When I get sleepy, I usually go in there all by myself. I love treats, toys, and bones to chew! Do you like tug-of-war? I sure do! I also have the best time going outside to run and play and chase tennis balls with my friends! Gracie is a Pit mix that is around 18 months and weighs around 50 lbs and fully vetted. If you want to add a sweet and amazing dog to your family, look no further - I am your girl! I will love you with all of my heart and soul! show less

Meet Jessie! Jessie is a pit mix and was rescued on October 1st by a volunteer of Charlie’s Crusaders when she was walking by a parking lot and heard barking she didn’t recognize. Jessie was locked in a truck and tied to the steering wheel with a belt and a plastic bag where he had been for days. The volunteer fed him and was able to find his “owner” who told her that he had sold Jessie and those owners were moving and recently gave Jessie back to him. The owner didn’t want Jessie back so he locked him in the truck. The man relinquished ownership of Jessie and Jessie is now being fostered in Norristown, PA. Jessie is a sweet boy and loves to cuddle and be near people. Jessie is around 4 years old and weighs 57 pounds. He knows some commands (sit, down, stay) and loves to play, especially with rope toys. Jessie is also a cuddle bug and loves to lay next to you and get belly rubs. Jessie is up to date on his shots and neutered. Jessie is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash or harness and is great in the car. Jessie is good with older kids (but he jumps a bit) and will need to be an only dog in a higher energy home. Jessie has not been socialized with other dogs and doesn't know how to act. If you are interested in adopting Jessie, please apply at charliescrusaders.org! show less

Meet Khloe! Kloe is around 2 years old and a shepherd mix! Kloe current foster says this about her:  Despite Khloe being found in a hole with her puppies, and them now being adopted she has excelled at learning to be loved and to love again. She has learned to play with other dogs her size and has a submissive personality. She has shown zero signs of aggression but does show fear of leashes. We are keeping it on her periodically to show there is nothing scary about it. She loves people and nudges your arm to pet her. She has excelled with potty training again and is going outside with pretty minimal accidents in the home. She doesn't mind her crate at all either. She has been around kids and does great. She does seem to show fear of loud noises and very sudden movements- but again no signs of aggression. It just makes her unsure of what is going on. A confident but not over dominant dog would help her become a dog again. She watches and learns from my dogs. And has been emulating their actions. She is very playful one on one. She has come so far but still needs someone to be patient. With her as she is still learning to trust and still learning to show love. You can see it in her that she is ready to love, play, and become a family member. She trusts people now which is night and day from when I got her. She has healed up nicely from getting spayed and took her medication with no treats. Plopped it in her food and she ate every bit. Khloe is ready to find a home with patience, a dog would be lovely for her, and even a kiddo to show her the ropes at living life. Please apply today at Charliescrusaders.org PLEASE NOTE: You must your own home, have a 6 foot fence and have breed experience.  show less

Meet Kiki! Please Note only available in Mississippi/Tennessee area! Current foster says this about her: Kiki was a resident of the vet's office a few years back. They don't remember how she got there, just that they rehomed her to a client of theirs. Recently, the client got a divorce and neither wanted Kiki, so she was taken back to the vet where she was put into a stainless steal kennel. She didn't do well in there and became very aggressive and attacked anyone who came near the door. It was all they could do to get food in to her. She stayed there over a month when they asked me to find a person who worked with highly fractious dogs and would take her on. I agreed, but later told them, I needed to see for myself how fractious she was and whether she would relax perceptibly after sitting with her for a while. The vet assistant was unable to get her out, but the vet managed to get a leash on her and lead her out into a room with me and a bag of treats and protective clothing. 45 minutes later, I walked out of the room carrying Kiki. I brought her home, where she's been sleeping in my bed with me every night and is the best of companions. There's no predicting whether she'll take to a new owner with no problems, so for that reason, I want to adopt her locally where the adoption applicant can come to my house and meet Kiki and sit with her for 45 minutes like I did and where I can go get her if it doesn't work out. Please apply today at Charliescrusaders.org  show less

Meet Maggie! Maggie is approximately a 2 year old 27 lb sweet and loving dog. She came to her foster family after already having been adopted out and given back to the rescue due to no fault of her own. Maggie is a very anxious dog who would make a great friend and companion. She is currently in a foster home with two other dogs. They get along but Maggie prefers to spend her time with her foster mom. She is very attached and is quite the lap dog and cuddler. Although shy and nervous at first, Maggie loves attention and meeting new people when she is comfortable. Maggie feels safest in a crate with a bunch of toys that she hoards inside. It’s an open door policy so she can go in and out as she pleases.  Maggie came to her foster family with a history of vomiting however it was discovered that this was an anxiety problem. Since with the foster family she was prescribed daily anxiety medication and a low fat diet. She rarely throws up any more and is doing well. She had a full panel of bloodwork that all came back great!  Maggie had teeth pulled during her stay with her foster family as well. Since having her teeth pulled and starting her anxiety medication she is like a whole new dog. She runs around excitedly and wags her tail when she’s happy. Maggie enjoys playing with small squeaky toys and begging for treats. She will sleep in bed with you or in her crate. She is fully potty trained and does well in her crate when left alone.  Please think about making this sweet and lovable girl a part of your family. She deserves a home with someone who will provide her with a lot of attention and loving.  MAGGIE DOES REQUIRE A FENCED IN YARD!!  Please apply at charliescrusaders.org show less
