LADIES!!!!!!LADIES!!!!!LADIES!!!Meet one of our longest residents with Charlies Crusaders : RAMSEY!  Why do you ask? Because Ramsey does not trust men, so he needs a female owner. Other then that he is the greatest dog! Some backstory to Ramset as to why he is the way he is......Ramesy was seized as part of a cruelty case, he was then taken to the shelter where one of our volunteers met him and couldnt let him be euthinized and decided to foster him till he found a good home.. We have know idea what happened between him and his previous owner, but we can tell you it was a man and it was not pleasant. On the bright side he has been super spoiled for a year with his foster mom and her 3 other dogs of all sizes! His foster mommy took him through Heartworm treatment and he has the all clear now!Ramesy is rambuncious at times so he will need a fenced in yard to run off his energy freely! He is potty trained, crate trained, gets along with all dogs, is neutered and UTD on all vaccines. At 40 lbs Ramsey is on the smaller side and estimated to be around 4 yrs old.Ramsey is currently being fostered in South Haven, MS and will need an experienced owner. All our dogs deserve a loving home but sometimes it takes a little longer to find them...... Meet Ruby! Ruby is estimated to be about 2 years old and a  Dogue de Bordeaux /lab mix best guess! Ruby was brought up to the Pa area a few months ago with her babies and they have all found forever homes! Ruby had to get spayed and go through Heartworm treatment before she was available for adoption now she is ready to find her forever home.   Current foster says this about her: Ruby currently lives with 3 other dogs, and gets along very well with two of them. Her foster parents think that if she lives with another dog, it should be a dog that is playful and more on the passive side. If you have cats, the cats need to be "dog savvy" as she gets excited when she sees them.  She enjoys zooming around the yard, but also loves to cuddle up on the couch with her people after playtime.  She is crate trained and house broken and knows basic commands, but still needs practice with them when she gets excited.  She currently lives with two kids under three, but because of her high energy and tendency to jump when excited, she would do best in a home with older children. When excited, she will also occasionally mouth at people’s wrists, which is something that we have been working with her on.  She can be wary of men coming into the house she hasn’t met before, but as long as she is properly introduced she is fine.  She can be mischievous if she isn’t exercised well, so someone who will take time to play with her is a must! Please apply at www.charliescrusaders.org!  Please Note she needs a fenced in yard at least 4 ft show less

Meet Zelda and Bella! Zelda and Bella were rescued by a Charlie’s volunteer after someone reached out to her about two dogs sitting in a crate outside all day in the rain in Elizabethtown, PA. Zelda has a large piece of her left ear missing, likely due to the family trying to crop her ears. From the information that Charlie’s was able to get, both Zelda and Bella were born on 12/5/2016 and are Min Pin/Chow and Shepard mixes and have been raised together until a domestic violence issue split the family. As now, we are unsure if they are good with other dogs or cats. We were told they do well with other dogs with a proper introduction. Both were good with the small children at the temporary foster they had to stay out of the rain but they did try to escape their pen to get to that family’s gerbil, so we will update this information as we learn it. Both girls are house trained and crate trained. Zelda is estimated to be around 25 pounds and Bella around 20 pounds. Both Zelda and Bella are up to date and have been spayed.  YOU  MUST HAVE A FENCED IN YARD. To foster Zelda and Bella until they are ready for their forever home, please go to charliescrusaders.org and fill out our foster application! Please note that Zelda and Bella are a bonded pair and need to be fostered together and adopted together. show less
