Jett  About a year old probably Shepherd/Pit mix. He is a laid back, very intelligent, quiet guy who just wants to be with you 24/7. He was rescued off the streets of Memphis,TN. His new mommy who rescued him planned on keeping him, but sadly she passed away shortly after rescuing him. He came to his foster mom quiet, shy, and craving love. It did not take him long to become one of the best snuggle buddies there ever was and is happy to lay with you all day on the couch, follow you around the house so he knows where you are, or going on a walk/shopping. He is protective of his foster mom and will try to pull her away from the other dogs in his foster home when they get too rowdy. He is quick to learn commands. He knows sit, working on down. Walks well on a leash. He is a work in progress with manners but will sit for his meals now.  **NOT CAT FRIENDLY** Small dogs seem ok with him and does well with other dogs when introduced properly and given the chance to warm up to the dog. He currently lives with 3 other dogs who he gets along with but may be better if he is the only dog in his furever home. He loves to romp and play with his foster brother. He likes going out and meeting people. He seems to do really well with kids when he meets them .He's a litlle afraid of men and will be shy and timid at first.  Special considerations:  He does have a leg that was injured pretty bad at some point and it healed up wrong. He has had two opinions from two different vets saying that surgery is not needed unless it starts affecting how he gets around and his overall quality of life. He gets along very well despite it. He may not be the dog for you if you want a running partner, but does love going on walks. He is on glucosamine tablets to maintain his hip joint to help aleviate any arthritis. It was recommended he be given a high quality glucosamine supplement for the rest of his life to help prevent further damage as long as possible. He needs anxiety meds if he has to be crated (he goes crazy being put in a crate and will still get out of the crate unless drastic measures are taken to keep it closed!    Does well in the house without being crated.  We believe he would thrive in a home where someone is there most of the time. He’s been left behind so many times he gets anxious when left alone.  A retired couple to take him wherever they go? Or someone that’s able to take him to work with them and just lay his dog bed in the corner next to them? He’s definitely a love bug and just needs a human he can Velcro himself too.  He LOVES car rides as well.  He is Currently being fostered in the Mechanicsburg, PA area and available for meet and greets!!!  If you would love to be Jett’s forever buddy, please go to charliescrusaders.org to apply.  Any questions , please message us on Facebook at Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue! Another note from his Forster:  His foster mom has come to love him and would love to be able to at least get updates on him and how he is doing. He will be missed. show less

LADIES!!!!!!LADIES!!!!!LADIES!!!Meet one of our longest residents with Charlies Crusaders : RAMSEY!  Why do you ask? Because Ramsey does not trust men, so he needs a female owner. Other then that he is the greatest dog! Some backstory to Ramset as to why he is the way he is......Ramesy was seized as part of a cruelty case, he was then taken to the shelter where one of our volunteers met him and couldnt let him be euthinized and decided to foster him till he found a good home.. We have know idea what happened between him and his previous owner, but we can tell you it was a man and it was not pleasant. On the bright side he has been super spoiled for a year with his foster mom and her 3 other dogs of all sizes! His foster mommy took him through Heartworm treatment and he has the all clear now!Ramesy is rambuncious at times so he will need a fenced in yard to run off his energy freely! He is potty trained, crate trained, gets along with all dogs, is neutered and UTD on all vaccines. At 40 lbs Ramsey is on the smaller side and estimated to be around 2 1/2 yrs old.Ramsey is currently being fostered in South Haven, MS and will need an experienced owner. All our dogs deserve a loving home but sometimes it takes a little longer to find them......
