About Pita

Every single person at Dallas DogRRR is OBSESSED with pretty miss Pita. This sweet girl is two years old, a perfect 26 lbs, up-to-date on all shots, crate-trained, housetrained, spayed, and heartworm treatment is done (will be off restriction Aug 7th). Seriously... the PERFECT dog!

Pita is extremely calm, quiet, sweet and cuddly - the perfect lapdog. She NEVER barks! Her favorite activities are snuggling, eating, and receiving pets and scratches. She likes to squirrel-watch and dream about getting them, but she's not fast enough 😂. She LOVES laying in the sun and she LOVES the beach, not scared of the water at all. She is hilarious when frisky. She likes to use humans as pillows. Occasionally she gets frisky and will tear around the house playing with her toys and will fetch several rounds.

She can be scared, timid and shy at first until she gets comfortable, but once she does, she is the most loyal and loving companion. She is dog-friendly and kid-friendly but she doesn't like rambunctiousness or aggressiveness (who does!?). Pita could fit into many homes/families, but we would think she may do best in a home without young babies or high-energy dogs or puppies as they could scare her.

All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for puppies is $250 and dogs over 12 months is $150. You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org. For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.

Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process. Thank you for your interest in adopting a Dallas DogRRR.

Poor sweet girl has been traumatized at only 4 months old. She was owner surrender to local shelter after being attacked by a dog; they tried to treat her but we think it may have been too expensive for them. She was rescued to receive immediate vet care for her face; required dental surgery and many stitches. She is doing great. You can see how they took a good portion of her bottom mouth off, and her skin is stretched on her top mouth so she ends up looking like she has an Elvis Presley grin (it's pretty adorable). She is doing well, and is such a fighter already. She will be a cone head for a a while until we hear more info at her follow up appointment. She is available for adoption but will need to keep a close eye on her recovery. If interested in her, her surgery or recovery time, please let us know. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. The standard minimum donation for puppies is $300, dogs over 12 months is $200 and for our senior dogs $100. Apollo is very affectionate and likes to be right next to his "person." He likes to poke you with his nose when he wants more attention. He plays well with the other dogs in the house, but he can sometimes be overwhelmed at first when meeting new doggie friends. He is great with kids and is learning how to walk on his leash. He is crate trained and potty trained. He has siblings that looks very similar to him but his siblings Baldwin and Sandler have shorter legs. Apollo is one of nearly 20 dogs we received from a hoarding situation where over 70 dogs lived in a house together barely getting outside. They are in foster homes now, learning what it is like to have a name, get love and attention, their own portion of food, their own bed. We are learning about each one as they are adjusting to this new life. Some have thrived, while we are learning some have vision issues, are underweight, are very nervous and shy, some have built a stronger bond with some of the others. A few are a bit more fearful and will take some patience and training. But all are adorable and have a lot of potential because they are young and can overcome this and be perfect family pets. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. This tiny baby girl was trembling in fear in the loud scary shelter, with every single kennel filled and new surrenders coming in non-stop because it is the holidays. She was hurt badly and had no chance of getting adopted being in this shape. She needed a hero! Dogrrr rescued this sweet thing and got her to the vet so she can get pain medicine for her mangled little leg and also to find out she is due to have pups any day. She had her pups and they are all doing well; had their shots and now in their furever homes. Vanelope has come a long way from her scared days alone in a shelter and we're so happy to have rescued her. Just look at those ears! She is as sweet and precious as can be; she is ready for her furever happily ever after now! All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. This is sweet Baldwin. He is affectionate and playful! He needs a secure fenced yard to run around in! He is doing great, warming up and learning how to play and walk on a leash. Baldwin is one of nearly 20 dachshunds we received from a hoarding situation where over 70 dogs lived in a house together barely getting outside. Beatrice is the sweetest thing. Nothing bothers her. She only want love and attention. She loves to run in the yard. I don’t think she has ever had so much attention and freedom. The only thing is when she sees my husbands white truck she wants in it. So who ever had her must of had a white truck. He brought her home from the vets the other day and she travels so great. Likes looking out the window. Beatrice is such a loving girl. She just wants human contact. She wants to be in your lap or next to you. Would be great for an older couple or someone who works from home and wants a constant companion that doesn't need much but to sit next to you. She is doing so well depsite her sad story. This sweet and dedicated momma and her puppies arrived at a high kill shelter. She stared at her sick puppy that she knew was dying. She had to say goodbye and unfortunately she lost two more on her journey to Dallas. This mom fought hard on the streets trying to keep her babies alive. She found shelter until someone found her and brought her to the shelter. Somewhere on their journey they caught parvo. Mom did not know why all her babies were dying. She just knew they were all sick. She fought hard she loved them and she cared for them. Was poor Beatrice ever loved? Or had she spent her whole life on the streets? There was something about the look in her eyes that showed she is strong and a fighter. She kept those babies alive she kept them safe. Two of her babies made it past the danger period, but poor mom is now sick and exhausted. We are doing all we can so she will be able to experience life the way it should be...loved, treasured and cherished. Blueberry is loving the warmer weather because she loves to play in the water hose! She runs, jumps and dances in the water. Such a sweet girl who is so happy with her life now. She is rocking her training sessions. She is the definition of loyal & will give you more love than you could ever imagine. The only thing she asks in return? All of the belly rubs, all of the time. Her temperament is sweet and docile. She is great with kids; loves having her foster human kiddos read to her while she chews on her toys. Despite what this girl has been through she had adapted to the pampered life quite well. Poor Blueberry, as far as we can guess was attacked by another dog, her poor face was mangled. She went through alot of time at the vet but they fixed her up physically. While our amazing fosters worked on fixing her up mentally and she has succeeded with flying colors. She is happy, go lucky dog just as she deserves and ready to find her happily ever after family. BOBBY WANTS TO MEET YOU! Bobby is sadly a poster boy for an abandoned family dog. Found as a stray and taken to a local shelter, he quickly found himself on the euthanization list simply due to space. Not given much time to act, we got him out and got him up to date on his vaccinations and had him neutered. He already seemed to know how to sit and shake, so since we're committed to setting up our rescues for success, we fine tuned his abilities and provided him additional training to make him that much more desirable. Bobby is about to graduate from training, and we need to find him a foster home, or preferably, his furever home so he can celebrate and show off his skills! He's about 3-4 years old, super friendly, a cuddler, but doesn't do well with cats, so that's his one vice :) All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. The Nut family is one of the most resilient families I've had. They are so sweet. The little Nuts are slowly working on potty training. But they are taking to it! Momma Nut spends a bulk of her time wanting to be outside keeping the yard clear of squirrels. She has laser focus on the job. Brazil, her mom and siblings were abandoned in a rent house. Found a week later by the landlord. Poor family was starving - skin and bones. They were rushed to one of best fosters we have to ensure they were eating and getting the nutrients they all need to survive. Poor Brazil caught an upper respiratory infection and had to stay seperated from her siblings, she required breathing treatments and feedings with mom on her own. She is doing great now, her skin and fur is looking so much better. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Such a great dog, while she has the looks of a lab she is much smaller. Beautiful shiny black coat. Great personality, well behaved. Precious little pal. Bronx is potty trained and lets you know when it is time to go outside. She loves belly rubs and snuggles. She is great on the leash and loves kids so much she rolls right over wanting belly rubs. Definitely a sweetheart who has so much love to give. Bronx came from an overcrowded shelter in South Texas where most of the dogs are sweet and loving dogs in desperate need of a good home. Most have lived on the streets or been mistreated and not taken care of. We have gotten them in foster homes where they are experiencing, for the first time, love and a kind touch as well as getting the medical care they so need. Bronx and Brooklyn bonded during their time in the shelter; as you can see from the sweetest picture below. They are being fostered together. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Meet Chapman. He tends to have a lot of energy and needs someone who has time to walk or run with him so he can see the world out there. He is very excited about it and looks forward to it each day. He has been good with his fosters kids, but keep in mind he is big and strong. He is good when he meets other kids and dogs on his walks. However, very curious about the neighbor dog on the other side of the fence. He crates well. He waited patiently to be leashed in the morning, and gets very excited about his walks at first. Chapman is one of the many dogs we brought up from an overcrowded shelter in South Texas. Most of the dogs are such sweet and loving dogs in desperate need of a good home. Most have lived on the streets or been mistreated and not taken care of. China is one beautiful girl, she was found as a stray in an overcrowded shelter in South Texas. Clearly used to bred then released. She seems healthy, not happy, but we hope to get her there. We will get her vetted and on her way to her furever home. She is so sweet and so mellow. China has got to meet so many of our fosters because she is such a special soul. Everyone who meets her falls in love. She gets along with all people - big and small. However, she does not seem too excited about meeting smaller dogs and cats - anything more furry than her! She does great with other big dogs. China along with several of dogs we brought back from South Texas are in desperate need of a good homes. Most have lived on the streets or been mistreated and not taken care of.
