I'm Braxton, and it's very nice to meet you! As you can see, I'm just a little guy; my birthday was in May so I'm not very old, and I'm still learning about the world! So I'm very curious and inquisitive, and I like to explore a bit. I am nice to other kitties and I really enjoy playtime, and while I'm usually a quiet little guy, I've been known to sing for my supper now and then. I absolutely love people-- my foster mom says I am an expert snuggler, especially when it comes to my human brother. Foster mom also says I am super super sweet, very friendly and totally affectionate, and I tend to agree. In fact, I think I'd make a great lap cat and I'm already practicing my purring! Now all I need is a nice warm lap to curl up on and a human or three to call my own. I promise to be the very best boy if you make me part of your family! Apply for me now. ________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Name: Copeland Suspected Breed(s): Shepherd mix Gender: Male Age: 1 year old Weight: 55 lbs Personality: quick learner, playful, funny, protective, outgoing, affectionate, goofy, energetic, snuggler, eager to please, good running partner Observations with Dogs: Copeland is anxious when meeting dogs on walks, so he would do better in a quiet, less dense neighborhood. Observations with Cats: Tested well with cats Observations with Kids: Good with kids House Training Progress: No accidents Crate Training Progress: Quiet in his crate Location: DC area foster Rescued From: Roane County, WV Additional Information: Copeland is a silly, fun, energetic and loving young dog. He pounces on toys like a champ and is generally a goofy and happy pup. He wants to bring all of his joy to his adopter! He promises to be a good boy if you'll give him lots of treats to help him put on some weight. Copeland has already learned "let's go", "sit", "go to mat", "trade", "go get it", and he is working on "come". He would make a terrific companion for anyone with a house and yard in which he can feel secure and fully express his playful nature. This goofy young boy loves socializing and playing, and he learns new games and commands very quickly. Copeland loves to go running, but he is also great inside. When company is over – including kids – he will make friends instantly and be the life of the party. He loves the outdoors but feels anxious and is reactive to crowded or busy city streets, so a quiet suburban environment would be the best fit for him. Apply today to meet handsome Copeland! __________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Name: Cupe Suspected Breed(s): Labrador Mix Gender: Male Age: 3.5 years old Weight: 57 lbs Personality: Calm, friendly, affectionate, gentle, shy Observations with Dogs: Good with other dogs. Cupe enjoys the dog park. Observations with Cats: Good with cats but likes to chase them. He should be in a home with no cats or with a playful, dog-friendly cat.   Observations with Kids: Younger children can be too loud and startle Cupe. He'd do best in a home with older children (over age 10) who will be gentle with him.  House Training Progress: Occasional accidents. Crate Training Progress: Fine in crate but whines after he has been in there a while.  Location: DC area foster Rescued From: Columbus County, NC Additional Information: Cupe is a quiet, calm boy who enjoys romping with other dogs at the dog park and going on walks. He is sweet and a little shy, so a quiet home might be best to help him come out of his shell. Cupe would do best in a suburban home where he can spend a lot of time with his people. This sweet boy loves treats and will make a great companion! We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.  Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs. show less
