About Ford

Ford is a 3-4 yr old Bullmastiff. We were originally told he was around 5 yrs old, but our vet aged him a little younger. He is very timid, all noises and sudden movement scare him. He does relax after getting used to a new home and new noises, but if he has not heard the noise before he gets jumpy. We have not heard a peep out of him since the day he came into rescue, no bark, whine, or growl. This boy is all love.

Ford is terribly afraid of certain items, we have not seen all of them yet, but we found cooking pans are something he runs from. He will stay away until he feels safe to come back around. This poor boy, we just cannot imagine what he has been through. Ford has some separation anxiety and if left outside alone when you are not home, he will jump or break through a 6 ft fence. He should not be allowed outside when you are not home and does best with a confident dog in the home that he can attach to. Ford cannot be an only dog and rescue remedy helps him a lot if given to him before you leave. He is just anxious and afraid to be alone.

Ford is heartworm positive and already starting his first step in treatment. If the adopting family is local, he can be adopted while undergoing treatment, as long as the adopting family agrees to adhere to the guidelines given by the vet during the full timeframe of treatment. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Aside from the heartworms, Ford is a healthy boy and we do not forsee long term issues from the heartworms or treatment.

Adoption Fee: $250

Champ is approximately 2-3 yrs old. He has spent his life outside tied up. Well now he is learning how great it is to live inside with a family. However, he has a little bit of anxiety inside (pacing) that we are working on. He is sweet, loves everyone in the house, and loves affection. He drools A LOT, so be warned, a face towel is required with this boy. He is good with other dogs, and corrects appropriately. He does not really know how to play or what to do with himself, which is why he paces sometimes. Once he is relaxed and understands what's expected of him, he is wonderful. Champ has been playing non stop with the female puppy in the household. When they settle down and relax, he is now laying down with a toy or looking for affection. We do not know how he is with cats and we prefer he goes to a home with kids 8 years old or older. He is good with all of the kids in the home, loves people food (so watch your plates!), and he is great in a crate. Champ is an awesome dog, who would love to be your go everywhere partner (once he learns better leash manners, he does great on a front hook harness). He is active and loving. With some patience and obedience training, this boy will blossom. He calms down after a few weeks in the home, it takes him time to adjust to change (causes him some stress). So, if you are willing to give him a chance and take some time to work with him, you will see the great dog he has the potential to be!! He has already made great strides with us in a short amount of time. Champ is neutered and up to date on all vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. show less

Merlin is just over a year old. He is a very sweet boy but leary of men and will growl at them. He is not aggressive, he will back up and growl, as well as avoid them. It takes him about a week in the home to warm up to men who are understanding and patient. They must allow Merlin to come around on his own and not force the interactions. It takes Merlin much longer with men who want to dominate him. He is good with cats and submissive dogs. Merlin prefers a quiet home with no kids. He just gets too nervous around a lot of people, especially kids and paces constantly. He came to us from someone who cared deeply about him and wanted the very best for Merlin. He was Merlin's 3rd home and he took Merlin from where he was with the intent on finding Merlin a new quiet home. While he loved Merlin dearly, he already had a great dane and just did not have the time, room, or finances to keep Merlin himself. Merlin has been bounced around in his short life and needs a family that will be consistent with him. Take him to training to build his confidence and help him not feel like he has to be in charge of everything. Merlin can be with cats but does like a little chase when the cats are running around the home (he never hurts them, just chases). He is also good with submissive dogs only. He does not do well with dominant dogs. Merlin likes to be top dog. He is playful, loving, and all of the things you want in a dane, but he does need time, patience, and training. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. His adoption fee is $350 show less
