About Squeak

Squeak came to us from a PA rescue.  He was dumped outside when his family moved and left outdoors for about 6 months.  He is loving, friendly, a big cuddler and a big talker.  We think he’s trying to tell us about his travels when he was outdoors.  What we do know is that he is a lover and he needs a loving family.  He is about 2 years of age.  INCREDIBLE CAT!!!

Adoption Fee: $85

Champ came to the shelter almost 2 years ago. He was just under 1 year of age at the time. As you can see by his pictures, he's a beautiful boy. We have never made any bones about it that Champ needs a committed and loving owner. He needs a owner/owners who will be his boss and commit to training. Initially I would have said he would be better off with no other dogs, but with a committed owner and patience he would probably do well with another dog (the right dog obviously.) Over time he has done well with other dogs at the shelter and when outside will even paw and clean/lick the dog in the adjacent run. In late 2016 we hired Steve Del Savio from Pack Leaders who works with Cesar Milan and we learned a lot and in turn Champ has learned a lot. Champ will be a friend for life, but he needs to know that his adopter is patient and committed. His original adopter was only 19 years old and should never have been allowed to adopt him....he was crated most of his first year of life, never neutered and left on his own 90% of the time, and his owner was way to young to know any better. He is a high energy dog. He would do ok with older kids, but probably shouldn’t be with younger kids. He needs someone who is truly committed, is experienced and will commit to the long haul. show less

Hollys story is special. The OC Sheriff was acting on open warrants on her owners. On the 4th try of trying to arrest her owners one of the Sheriffs Deputies noticed a dog kept in the back corner of the yard......Holly. Emaciated, wet and cold, she called it in they called our Goshen DCO and asked for help. Our DCO wasn't sure what she was like so brought some food and treats....she was gentle and accepting and ready to accept help. She jumped in the truck and came to the shelter and it was love at first site for everyone, including Holly. We named her Holly as it was Christmas time. Holly was emaciated, and her nails were growing straight up in the air, and she had a collar on with spikes that weighed a couple pounds! She had open sores/wounds and we got her into the Vet first thing. She was half what she needed to weigh - what was amazing was that she didn't have a mean bone in her body. The neighbors said she'd been used as a fighting dog and was also used as a breeder...which was very evident. We were also told that other dogs on the property may have been buried on the property. Holly needs an experienced, loving, caring and committed owner. Holly can be in the ONLY dog in the home. Even though she has NEVER shown any aggression, we recommend no small children or animals. She is a protector. She loves walks, swimming, but not a great passenger in the car, so would need to be crated or restrained. Holly has a huge heart of gold, but needs the right environment and commitment. We LOVE her at the shelter and have spent a lot of time caring for her and letting her know she matters...... show less
