About ALEXI - local, in WA (Special Needs)

Adoption Fee: $300

I am Alexi. If you're in the Seattle / greater Seattle area, please keep reading! If you have a big heart and love cuddles, I could be the one for you!

I am a cute terrier mix and maybe Berger Picard (around 10kg and 3.5 years old) and if you take a look into my deep brown eyes and my large muppet ears, you might quickly fall in love. We are looking to keep me in the Seattle / North Seattle area, as I'm really bonded to my foster Mom, and would need a slow transition. Also, you could think of adopting me as possibly a part time share, my foster Mom would like to stay in my life, help out and dog sit, if that would be okay with you. Feel free to reach out for more information if you're truly interested, and you can chat with my current Mama. You can contact us through this rescue group or even send my foster Mom a message on my Instagram account - info below.

I was found by some kind people in an abandoned building, paralyzed in all four of my limbs. - Trust me, I'm a survivor!

The good news - I am now in a loving foster home, just North of Seattle, and have had an MRI. My c5-c6 is injured, which has caused paralysis in my four limbs. My foster mama has done a tremendous amount of work with me to make me stronger.  At this point I can not sit, stand or walk by myself and my bladder gets expressed about 4 times a day. I don't wear diapers, and I have a normal 2x daily bowel movement.

I'm one of the few paralyzed dogs that doesn't need to wear diapers! Since the time I've been in foster care, my whole body has become stronger. Six months after I arrived here, my back legs started to "wake up," it was amazing! I now go on daily walks / tows in my cart (see my videos, or check out my IG account).

Once my cart starts to get pulled in a forward motion, my rear legs follow (most days, though I do have stubborn days too). Currently I walk 1/4-1/2 a mile daily, sometimes more! I can't steer very well, because of my injury I tend to go left quite often. I move my front shoulders, but my front paws haven't woke up. My days consist of cart walks, park visits, exercises, cuddles and snoozing. Once I get my walk, I'm usually ready for cuddles and a nap. I LOVE to take naps with my human.

You may follow along my adventures here, which I now share with my foster sibling who was also rescued from this organization: https://www.instagram.com/rescuedgypsy/

People have started a go fund me page.  http://www.gofundme.com/help-alexi

I also now have an Amazon.com wish list of my very own! https://amzn.to/2I3kT9v

I always so excited to go outside, and enjoy the fresh air! Sometimes that is in my cart, or my special backpack. Every time my human comes to give me love I do the wiggles and sometimes I sing to her.

I know it will take a special person to give me a forever home, but I believe this world is full of special people. I already found one of them and she's my foster mom. If dreams come true, my next special person is reading this right now and lives close to my foster family!

I'd love a family who has a nice doggy friend for me, and someone who is home often. I like to be around my humans, in the same room, and outside on adventures. My forever human should be physically fit and will continue my care.

If you live near me, my current Mama will go through my routines with you, including my favorite places to visit.

I live with two cats, sometimes I'm not bothered by them, but sometimes I growl and bark (can you blame me, I am part terrier). I'd prefer a home without small children, and any older children need to be kind, gentle and patient.

Once I know you, and you sit and give me treats for a couple of minutes I earn your trust. When I'm out on my walks in my cart, I very rarely bark, though I will do a high pitch happy bark when I see a dog that peeks my interest!

I would thrive to be in a home with another gentle and playful dog. Having another loving dog around really has helped my motivation and my happiness. I am also not neutered and need to stay that way. I need my hormones to help me get stronger.

I know it will take a special person to give me a forever home, but I believe you are out there somewhere and when we find each other both our lives will grow bigger with love.

(Currently available to WA adopter's or Canadians willing to commit to wait til the CoVid-19 crisis has abated.) ADAMO Breed: Dogo Argentino/Pitbull Age: 3-1/2 yrs Gender: m, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 85 lbs / TBA inches Energy level: moderate Relations: best as an only pet, no kids Highlights: Loving, Sweet, Calm, house trained Region: TX, USA Clearly I am slated to win Most Photogenic doggie at all the adoption events, but I sure wish the prize was a family and not just constant applause. I like dog parks, car rides, going on sniffathons, relaxing in bed, cuddles, being your shadow, other dogs, people, supervising your bathroom visits…stealing your food from the table when you turn around (pretend you did not read that last part). A goooood back scritchin and full body massage, but who doesn’t? I am a SILLY Billy boy. I only weighed 40 pounds when I was picked up from the City of San Antonio shelter, but now I am back up to a hunky chunky weight and I feel good. Cuz I am good, a really sweet boy. My best skill is probably doing zoomie spinny circles. It is a complicated move, but I am the very goodest at it, the best really. Life has taught me this tip, when you can’t find a pillow, use a dog’s butt, dog butts are very soft and make great pillows. I don't mind. You know that ole cliché, you cannot judge a book by its cover. I totally agree. To truly judge a book, you need to nibble it, chew on a few pages first. When I first got outta the shelter, I was very hungry and chewing on everything, but I have stopped that nonsense, as long as you give me TOYS! I would thrive in a home with a yard for play time, but also a huge couch for my cat naps…er uh, dog naps in my case. I am strong on a leash, but Foster Mom says I am NOT “the worst” she has experienced. I am in a Foster Home with other dogs, but did do slow intros. I do great at public places like dog parks, but I become more protective when at home, so best I am an only pet. I am shy at first with people, but if you exchange treats for my love, I will take that trade and then you get to see my goofy ball side. I have been a good boy around kids, but probably better not to have them in the home, as I am a pretty big boy. Don't want to knock anyone down. So far the only command I know is SIT. I hope you know the command for rubs, because when I roll over to show my belly that means rub it. I am very happy to have my second chance at a home after being dumped & found by the city shelter. I want to be a good big boy for you and I will be very loyal and loving. Will you please adopt me? I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. This is the application that you should use if you are looking to apply to foster a dog AND ARE NOT planning to adopt.  Foster homes are one of the most important parts of any dog rescue. Without these homes, we wouldn't be able to rescue as many dogs as we do.  If you are looking to make a difference in a dogs life for a short period of time, please apply now.  What is fostering? Fostering is agreeing to take a dog into your home, temporarily, while the rescue is receiving and reviewing applications for adoption.   What does it cost? As a foster home, we can provide you with food, collar, leash. We will also cover any vet bills, but please speak to your foster coordinator before taking the dog to the vet unless its an emergency What if I can only foster a small dog? We will work with the limitations of our foster homes. If you are asked to foster a dog that is too big, please just let us know and we will look for another home.  What if I only want to foster a puppy? Puppies are usually very easy to adopt and often don't need fostering. Please consider an older dog that could be even more fun! What if I want to adopt? If your intent is to adopt a dog, you will need to submit an adoption application for review.  I only want to foster a specific dog. If you want a specific dog and only that dog, we recommend that you apply to adopt. International dogs are not normally available for fostering as we try to only bring them here if an approved adopter has been found. We really need more foster homes and appreciate you reading this posting. I hope that you consider opening your heart and your home to help a dog in need. The love and care that you can provide for even a short period, will make a huge difference in the life of a dog. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Greetings from Apachee! I’m a handsome two-year old lab/pittie mix pup from Bahrain. I weigh 55 pounds and stand about 25 inches tall. Not to be biased or anything… but I’m pretty darn awesome, and oh-so cute! A little while ago I was found as a stray. A kind-soul saw me and called Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre (BARC). Soon enough, my rescuers came and picked me up and I’ve been at the shelter ever since. Boy do they ever love me here! I love people and I’m GREAT with kids (check out my videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yZKWbAbXB8&feature=youtu.be). Look at all those kids surrounding me… and all I do is stand patiently and wag my tail like the very good boy I am. I get along well with other dogg-o’s, however I’m a young lad so I may play a bit rough some times. I haven’t been tested with cats, so I’m not sure how I’d do around the furry meowy creatures.   As a young, energetic dude, I’d love to have an active family to call my own and it would be SWEEET if they had a backyard for me to run around in. Ahhh I can see it now: days spent sniffing the fresh Canadian grass, feeling the cool breeze through my soft fur, doggy zoomies around my yard, perhaps chasing a ball… OOH add in some belly rubs and yummy treats… WOW, yeah that sounds gooooood! Looking for a four-legged companion? Want lots of doggy kisses and active adventures? Look no further, please adopt me! I promise to repay you with tail wags and unconditional love!   I am neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. My adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.    Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. APPLE (Angela) Breed: Galgo (Spanish Greyhound)/Lab Age: 1 yr Gender: Fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 35 lbs / 26 inches Activity level: medium-high Relations: good with dogs & children / unknown cats Highlights: great with kids, highly intelligent, persevering, separation anxiety, escape artist Region: Middle East Confined spaces and locked doors, these are common obstacles for any canine. Today, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the one dog that has broken those barriers through intelligence. From far lands, also called the Middle East, I give you Appledini... I’d like to start with a question, has anybody ever been locked or left alone behind a closed door? I bet the answer is yes, unpleasant situation. I’ve had my own share of bad experiences, but being in a confined space or a locked room for a long time isn’t one of them. I’ve become a master of the art of escaping any place at which I might be left alone, and using a key to open doors is also part of my repertoire. Now you might be wondering how is it possible a dog can develop such amazing abilities. It’s a part of my mystery… well… in fact, they’re the result of the difficult things I’ve had to go through.  I’ve experienced horrifying things from being abused by a drug addict who hurt me with a heated stick (hence the marks on my skin) to almost being strangled to death by insane men who wanted to hang me.  Fortunately, the amazing abilities I acquired to get away from danger and of course with the help of my wonderful assistants, whom some people call rescuers, have helped me stay alive up to this day. And I love magic, but despite being a popular escape artist, I dislike being left alone. I live for the audience, so I have a very bad time when I’m not surrounded by people. Separation anxiety, I’ve heard it’s called. Even in my darkest times, there have always been humans around to help me; maybe that’s why I don’t like being by myself nor confined. I’d be the happiest if I lived in a home with a loving family. However, since there are no foster parents for dogs my size in these lands, I’m currently living in a kennel facility and I hate it. It makes me so stressed that the so-called anxiety isn’t getting any better, and it has started to also mess with my wizardry. So would you help me? I’m good with dogs and great with kids, they make just the perfect assistants. They saved me from strangulation twice, how could I not love them?  All you have to do to be a part of the most amazing show you’ll ever find is to prepare yourself to be amazed! You’ll witness my talents front row, and I’ll turn your life into an enthralling experience. It’ll be full of affection and fun from day one, and I’ll use all my abilities and perseverance to bring magic and love to my new home in Canada. You have my word.  I bet I would make a seriously good trick dog, if you wanted to go for those titles with me. Maybe we could do shows for folks. I may even teach you a trick or two to escape from work when it gets too busy, how does that sound? We can have some great playtime outside instead. Trust me, your life will never have a boring moment again, I’ll make sure of that. Just say the magic words, click on the magical “adopt" button… and adopt me!   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. ASHLEY *bonded pair with PAWLMER Breed: Donestic Short Hair Age: 9 months Gender: fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 6-1/2 lbs Energy level: Average Relations: good with dogs and cats / unknown children Highlights: 1 eyed, playful Region: Middle East I am a sweet girl, who likes to hang out with my bestest buddy, Pawlmer. Found with a bad infection in my eyes. At a young 6 weeks old, I lost one eye and have limited vision in the other. I can see at about 70% with it. I also had a broken paw. Well, I am healed up and doing well now. I am really dependent on my buddy Pawlmer though, so we need to find a home together. I know my confidence will grow once I am in a forever home, where I can love up on my people. I am currently in boarding with my bestie. I like other cats and a dog in the home is fine too. Haven't been around kids though. I can be playful and enjoy snuggles once I see Pawlmer makes sure everything is safe. You can see how much we love each other in our video. We're 2, 2, 2 cats in 1 adoption. Do I need to repeat that a second time? Meooowhahaa. We really hope you are looking for kitty to scratch with each hand.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Atom Ant Breed: Pointer/Saluki mix Age: 1 year Wgt/hgt: 44 lbs/ 19-3/4 inches Gender: M, will remain intact Relations: Good with dogs/ unknown cats & kids Activity level: Moderate for cart dog Highlights: Rear disabled, sweet, good with other dogs Region: Middle East I am a very sweet, young boy who was in dire need, as my shelter was closing down. Thankfully, a lovely person in Canada has offered to foster me, so I have been taken in by my rescuer until I can get a flight there. I was found with all my legs tied up with a rope and run over by a car. I endured hellish pain. Some rescuers stepped in and I underwent severe surgery enduring pain and hardship for several months, but I was still able to recover. So, I was kept at a place after surgery, but because of improper care, I was hospitalized. I was then taken to my current shelter. It is extremely difficult to find homes for able bodies dogs, let alone one paralyzed. If a place for me had not been found, they feared they would have to euthanize me. Such a shame after so much was done to save me. Now, I have a chance at a new life. Though alas, I am paralyzed forever and can never play like other dogs... I have so much love to give and cuteness of personality to show you. You may think it may be sad for me to be disabled, but it is just the way my life is and I enjoy being alive and able to share my love of life with others. LALDR will provide a cart for me once I am in my new home, so I can learn to zip around like Lightning McQueen, Mario Andretti, Speedy Gonzales, Usain Bolt... Hahaa. I have no issues with other dogs and although I haven't been around cats, it might be hard for me to go after them. I also haven't been around children yet. If you are up for a loving little buddy to snuggle up with, then you've come to the right bio. Here I am. Up and at 'em, Atom Ant. Neutering has been deemed unsafe for me by the vet, so I will remain intact. Darn, I still can't do anything, even if I could get to the girls though.   I have not been spayed/neutered, but am *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $350.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website. *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.  show less

Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. This is NOT a dog belonging to LALDR. This is a courtesy posting. Please do not contact us, as we know nothing about the dog. For more information, please contact: woofywishes@gmail.com Bahar (means spring in Farsi) is very kind and affectionate - Bahar was a healthy, kind and loving stray dog which was fed by a group of animal rescuers regularly by the Caspian shore north of Iran. 10 months ago when they went to feed the dogs, they found Bahar dragging herself on the shore. Immediately she was taken to Tehran for imaging, but unfortunately they found out that she was hit by a hard and sharp instrument so 3 of her ribs were broken and her spine was badly injured, which left her legs paralyzed. They also found out that she was very pregnant. She was transferred to Noor shelter and had her babies, but all of them perished due to illness at the shelter. She is very smart and learns very fast. She just needs a loving home and family to forget her horrible past. Bahar has control over her bladder and bowel; using a diaper until getting her on a potty routine will be helpful, as well as training her to give notice when she has to go. She is potty trained and needs a sand box for when she needs to go in order to not to get wet or dirty. She weighs about 49 lbs. Bahar is a resident of Noor Shelter in Iran and temporarily staying with one of the shelter volunteers in her home, but she will not be able to stay there and will be transferred to the shelter again if a permanent home is not found.    Here is a video describing my story: https://www.facebook.com/woofywishes/videos/432159497686464/ If you are interested in Bahar, contact woofywishes@gmail.com. show less

(Currently available to WA adopter's or Canadians willing to commit to wait til the CoVid-19 crisis has abated) BALU Breed: Lab/Pitbull Age: 2-1/2 yrs      06/31/2017 Gender: m, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 50 lbs / TBA inches Energy level: moderate to moderate-low Relations: good with dogs - likely good with kids / unknown cats Highlights: mellow, calm, friendly, food protective, well behaved, leash trained Region: TX, USA Good day, Inspector Balu from the Depawtment of Treatology here to test your peanut bubber for safety reasons that are really impawtant and stuff. I will need to confiscate all your peanut bubber jars. I will be back in a jiffy with the results of my analysis and stuff. *whisper to self* Oh dread, I sure hope they are buying this getup I am wearing, I hope my tie isn’t all cattywompus and giving my disguise away, or would that be doggywompus since I am a dog and not a cat? *End whisper to self* I came highly refurmended by the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services team, they said “you have to save this one, this one has a heart even larger than his head.” I loves peoples. I have plenty of experience being a good boy. I should fill out to a hunky high 50’s or so pounds when fully grown. I have those chiseled good looks of the main squeeze Prince in any Disney movie with my angled face and amber glowing eyes. The only speed on my walkometer is saunter. I am mellow and calm and not in a hurry to get anywhere fast. Except of course, there are always exceptions... like when I see a fav volunteer, I skedaddle over to greet them and I sit to conversate and tell them about my day. If they try to walk off I cut them off and sit again until they listens. Heehee. Even though my cartoonish ears make me look like a goofball at times, I am deceptively smart. One volunteer said I have intelligent eyes that make me look like a character from Planet of the Apes come to life. The only thing I don’t monkey around with is my dinner plate. The volunteer does have to feed me separately, because I do not like to share my vittles. It is a habit from being a street doggie, but hopefully in time, my fear of “not enough food for everyone, I must pawtect it” will wear off. I would be a great easy going buddy for a person who wants a large dog that isn’t a jumper or a barker. You can even bath me with no complaints. I am leash and crate trained, good with dogs and love people. I take treats gently from your fingertips and will stand beside you for all eternity basking in your back scratches. And now I have to admit, that I am not actually an Inspector from the Depawtment of Treatology, that was a bunch of marlarkey to get you to gib me the peanut bubbers. I am sawry. I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Banoo (means Miss, Lady, Princess) Breed: Canaan Dog/Golden Retriever Age: 2 yrs Gender: Fe, spayed Wgt/hgt: 66 lbs/ 21-3/4 inches Relations: Dogs good / cats & kids unknown Activity level: moderate Highlights: Senses people's moods well, enjoys closeness, good recall & on leash Region: Middle East A government van in the Middle East had me. They were planning to kill me. Thankfully, my rescuer intervened and was somehow able to get me from them. I have been with my rescuer about 7 months now. I am very friendly and like being around my people. I tend to be sensitive to emotions, so it's like I understand your feelings. Although I haven't been around kids, I would probably do well with them too, as I enjoy closeness of people so much and I am a kind girl. I haven't been around cats though. Do you love walking or running even. I would make a great partner for you, if so. My energy level is pretty normal overall. I looove spending time with humans and want all the attention I can get - watch my silly video trying to get attention of the person watching TV. There is just one thing that does scare me though, that is thunder. So, maybe if there is a thunderstorm, you will need to play music, get me a thunder shirt or give me some anti-anxiety meds until it passes. My rescuer said she really can't see any faults in me. I know how to be on leash and when off leash, I come back with my name or with a whistle. She also says I am very, very smart. I won't bark unless there is some serious reason to do so. I also get along very, very well with other dogs. I enjoy playing and I will share my food and toys just fine. I like stuffie toys. I really want to please you and get your approval.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Hi friends! I’m Beau, an adorable Chihuahua-mix pup, fresh off the streets of Mexico. I am almost 3 months old and weigh about 5 pounds right now, I’m so little and cute! My rescuers are pretty darn sure that I will remain a fairly small dog, even once I’m fully grown.   I was rescued off the streets of Chapala, a town in Jalisco, Mexico. Me and my lil sis, Buttons, were all alone out there. Thank goodness we were rescued!! We are now safe and sound at a shelter in Mexico. I am a healthy pup and am soooo ready to start my exciting life, hopefully with you! My rescuers say that I love other dogs, especially an older doggy at our shelter named Holly. Holly is so nice to me, hehe, I love her! I could live in a home with another doggy friend, if you have one; I know my place and don’t try to be dominant. I love humans and L.O.V.E. to be cuddled. Do you like to cuddle? I’m your guy! Being a puppy, I also have a good amount of energy – who doesn’t love puppy enthusiasm? I’d love nothing more than the chance to move to Canada and live with my own humans. I hear the Pacific North West is BEAUtiful (ha, get it?) and full of trails to walk and dog parks to play in. Think you could be my furever friend? Please give me a home, I’m waiting! My neuter is mandatory for my adoption to be finalized. LALDR does not cover the cost of sterilization on dogs arriving under 8 months of age. I have been vaccinated with all my puppy shots. My adoption fee of $600 includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.  Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters.
