About Audrey

Audrey is 36-pound dachshund mix who is joyous, affectionate, and spunky. This two-year-old beauty is fully house-trained, loves to cuddle, and has a full-bodied wag, with the wiggles going all the way up to her shoulders. Despite her diminutive size and short legs, she thinks she’s a guard dog. She takes this responsibility very seriously and is highly protective. Audrey would take a bullet for her foster family, but she’s terrible at understanding what actually represents a clear and present danger. On her list of things to protect you from: bicycles, joggers who veer too close to you, shrieking children, and unfamiliar dogs. She will need an experienced dog guardian who can work with her to curb this behavior. Audrey is in a home with cats and dogs right now, and went from being nervous around cats to accepting them as necessary evils. She has also warmed up to her foster dog pals and is now a good-natured, sassy friend to them, but it took a little time for her to adjust. Audrey is a special girl, and she’ll make the right person or family a fun, devoted, protective companion.

Audrey will not be attending adoption events as they make her very anxious. Private meetings can be arranged.

ADOPT BRETTA! This sweet girl is Bretta, a 1.5 year old old, 36 lb. mixed breed pup. Your guess as to her breed mix is as good as ours. She’s a big ball of energy and has a lot of love to give to both humans and other dogs alike, but cats, she'll take a pass. 😉 Bretta is still very young at heart and hasn’t quite grown out of her puppy stage, but it’s nothing a little love and positive reinforcement can’t take care of. In some situations, Bretta can be nervous so we are helping her with some of her anxiety around this sometimes scary world. We’d like Bretta to go to a home with another pup friend as she loves to play with other dogs and needs a dog companion to help her build confidence. If you're interested in adopting a pup that loves to play and who can be a friend to your other dog(s), Bretta is your girl! Hi, I'm Haylie. I'm a 6 month old lab mix. Currently I weigh around 40 pounds and my black fur shines in the sun. If you are looking for a very sweet energetic pup, then I might be the perfect addition to your family. Currently I am living with my foster family. There are a lot of playmates here and I do well with all of them. The cats don't like me much though. They hiss at me, just because I like to sniff at new things! My foster mom tells me "No Kitties" and then I know the sniffing needs to stop. The kids are great. I like it when they give me hugs and go outside with me. My doggie foster sisters are a lot of fun. We wrestle and play together. I would be lonely if I didn't have anyone to play with so my forever home needs to have at least one other dog so we can play together! I love running around outside. My perfect home would have a nice fenced yard. After a hard day of playing I like to curl up on the couch. Okay, actually I like to sprawl out on the couch, causing everyone else to sit around me. I also like to chew on rope toys and chase tennis balls. My foster mom says I am a great house guest since I am potty trained and I hardly ever bark. She also says I am young and energetic, but not destructive. I can "sit" and I'm working on my leash skills. I don't love going into my crate at night but once I'm in, I settle down quickly. Paddy is a 2 year old American Bulldog mix and weighs 56 lbs. Paddy was mistreated in the past and can be selective when meeting new people, but he loves his small “group”. He needs an experienced and patient family, with no young kids. Paddy does great with his two canine foster siblings. Paddy is housebroken. Paddy loves to run around in the yard, play fetch with a ball and will always return it to you. He knows the command "drop" and will drop the ball and sit for you all while waiting for the ball to be thrown again. Another favorite of his is playing tug-of-war with a big rope toy! However, he does like to shred them along with any stuffed toy, so best to have a few indestructible toys that he can't destroy. He loves slippers and socks so be prepared to put them away! Paddy believes he is a lap dog, knows when to settle down and relax, and he enjoys being with his people. He's a smart, gentle, lovable boy waiting for his forever family. Ranger is an ideal dog. At 5 years old, he’s neither too young nor too old, with plenty of energy for play but also content to snuggle with his human when cuddles are offered. He’s a perfect medium-sized 52 pounds, with enough stamina for outdoor fun but not difficult to walk on a leash. This gorgeous boy is an unusual-looking dog with big, expressive ears and soulful eyes. Not just a pretty face, he’s also intelligent, having crate-trained easily for his foster mom. Ranger had a rough beginning in life and can be a little shy on first meeting, but it doesn’t take him long to warm up and lean into petting. As with other dogs who come from neglect, all he needs is stable, reliable affection and care, and he’ll blossom into a faithful companion that you will feel privileged to love. Teagan, a 45-pound, strikingly handsome one-year-old shepherd/mountain-dog mix, needs to be in a foster home or forever home. As a stray puppy who ended up in a rural shelter, he had no one to love him, socialize him, or teach him basic manners. PAW asked for help from an excellent trainer, and he’s making great progress with her. Watch Teagan on youtube He will flourish in a home where his primary person is physically strong, dog-experienced, and confident in working with an energetic, strong-willed youngster. PAW will provide a review of his training for the foster. He would make a great running partner! Teagan has beautiful brindle fur and chocolate-drop eyes that plead with you to take him home. He is exceedingly smart and loyal. After training or play, he loves to cuddle and be physically close, but he’s picky with his dog friends and would do best as an only pet—and probably where there are no small children (because he could knock them over). He needs a tall privacy fence, or someone dedicated to leash-walking him. We have seen that Teagan is a great hiking and exploring companion! He may be a diamond in the rough, but he is one of the most wonderful of dogs.
