About A FOSTER Dog Application

This is the application that you should use if you are looking to apply to foster a dog AND ARE NOT planning to adopt.

Foster homes are one of the most important parts of any dog rescue. Without these homes, we wouldn't be able to rescue as many dogs as we do.

If you are looking to make a difference in a dogs life for a short period of time, please apply now.

What is fostering?

  • Fostering is agreeing to take a dog into your home, temporarily, while the rescue is receiving and reviewing applications for adoption.

What does it cost?

  • As a foster home, we can provide you with food, collar, leash. We will also cover any vet bills, but please speak to your foster coordinator before taking the dog to the vet unless its an emergency

What if I can only foster a small dog?

  • We will work with the limitations of our foster homes. If you are asked to foster a dog that is too big, please just let us know and we will look for another home.

What if I only want to foster a puppy?

  • Puppies are usually very easy to adopt and often don't need fostering. Please consider an older dog that could be even more fun!

What if I want to adopt?

  • If your intent is to adopt a dog, you will need to submit an adoption application for review.

I only want to foster a specific dog.

  • If you want a specific dog and only that dog, we recommend that you apply to adopt. International dogs are not normally available for fostering as we try to only bring them here if an approved adopter has been found.

We really need more foster homes and appreciate you reading this posting. I hope that you consider opening your heart and your home to help a dog in need. The love and care that you can provide for even a short period, will make a huge difference in the life of a dog.

Regards

Foster Team

Truffles (Titi) Breed: Bichon/Maltese Terrier Age: 9 months Gender: Female, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 11 lbs / 14 inches Energy level: Medium Relations: Good with Dogs, Cats / Children unknown (working on vid) Highlights: Ready for love, loves walks Region: The Middle East It's a new dawn, a new day, a new life for me... and I'm feelin' good! Hi there, everybody. Do you feel like singing? I do - because I know good things are just around the corner for me. My name is Truffles. I'm a happy, loving little lady, looking for that special person or people to help me achieve my new life. Here's a little bit about me. I was rescued from a cruel man who kept me locked in a bathroom for the first four months of my life. Because of this, I'm a bit scared of men. I can learn to trust them, if they go slow and have a pocket full of tasty treats. Otherwise, I get along well almost everyone: with dogs, cats and even babies (though we have to get video confirmation yet)! https://youtu.be/YSCObc1SYjA. I have spent the last four months being fostered by my rescuer and have really blossomed in a home environment. I've learned about snuggles, and warm beds, and walks. Walks are my absolute favourite. Do you need help getting your 10,000 steps a day? I can help with that. Do you need help keeping your lap warm during the chilly Pacific Northwest winters? I can help with that too! I think this could be the start of a beautiful friendship. If you think we'd be a good match, please consider applying for me. I'm ready and waiting.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $600.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website. *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.  show less

Hi, I am Tulip (sister to Genie and Dimple), a 5 month old, 15lb Jindo mix from South Korea. I'm 13 inches tall and have a diamond shape of white fur on my face that distinguishes me from my sisters.  My mother was pregnant when she was found as a stray and taken to the city pound.  So that's where I was born, along with my 5 littermates. My mom was fortunate to be adopted from there, but at 10 weeks of age we were all placed on the euthanasia list. Thanfully one of the volunteers saved us from there, only to discover that we had contracted Parvovirus and would all need to be quarantined and treated. This can be a deadly virus for small puppies, but amazingly we all survived. As it turned out, neither Genie nor I were ever infected, but had the treatment nevertheless.  Now we are all 100% healthy and ready to find our forever homes. Although I am initially shy with strangers I will still allow just about anybody to pet me, but with children I'm much more relaxed.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bM_PLGeq_TQ&list=PL3UlJJYID8eEGkUAlYXyPQFkRmXMj4ZvX&index=6 I'm a fairly energetic young dog and am always ready to play. Whenever there are other dogs around of similar size I am very happy to approach them and make friends in the hope they will play with me. Bigger dogs are fine, it's just that I tend to gravitate toward those that are smaller. I'm sure I would quickly make friends with any other dogs in the home, as long as they are willing to put up with me bugging them to play all the time! I'm not at all interested in cats. Can't imagine why anyone would be really since they aren't playful creatures. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJPro61GJxY&list=PL3UlJJYID8eEGkUAlYXyPQFkRmXMj4ZvX&index=2 I think it would be heavenly to have my own human family to live with. I'm a quiet dog and pee-pad trained, so if you live in an apartment that would be fine, as long as you take me to dog parks and places where I indulge my sociable, playful nature. We could have so much fun together, don't you think? Please send for me soon.   (My video name is Mini). I am too young to be spayed but I am vaccinated and mircrochipped and my adoption fee of $600 includes my airfare to Canada. Helloo to my future family! My name is Victoria, pleasure to meet you! I’m a 2 year old lab mix from Bahrain; an adorable cutie pie weighing 48 pounds and standing 21 inches tall. Check out my beautiful markings… ain’t I pretty?! Word on the street is that I’m a total sweetheart too! A while ago, me and my bro were found hiding under a water tank on a construction site. As you can imagine, a construction site is not a very nice place for two young pups; it was so hot out there and we never had enough food or water. Luckily, we were found by our amazing rescuers and we have been kept safe at the shelter and had food in our tummies ever since. Growing up at the shelter, I was surrounded by other dogs and kitty cats. Because of this, I’ve grown into a very tolerant young lady; I love other dogs (although I can be shy at first) and I don’t mind being around cats. Check out my video, surrounded by cats and dogs and I’m just chillin’ and wagging my tail! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmOyRYMkj7E&feature=youtu.be) See, I told you, I’m quite the catch! After almost two-years in a shelter, I long for a home of my own. I love people and I’d love to have endless ear rubs and belly scratches; treats and a cozy bed sound nice too. OOH also I’d love to go for lots of hikes and walks! I’ve heard soooo many good things about the beautiful Pacific North West… it really sounds like my cup of tea (or bowl of kibble, hehe). I’m still a young and youthful dog, so I have a moderate amount of energy. After a daily walk and maybe a trip to the dog park, I will gladly spend the afternoon snoozing beside you on the couch. Do you think you could be my furever family? I’d really like to find them soon! I am spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. My adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. You only need 2 words to describe this fella: Gentle Giant!  Hello out there. I am Zeus from Bahrain. I'm a 4 year old Doberman/Rottweiler mix - yeah, I know, it's an impressive combo! I'm 88 lb and 35 inches tall.  The thing is, people tend to have the wrong impression about me. Just because I'm a big Dobie/Rottie doesn't mean I'm a tough nut. That couldn't be further from the truth. In actual fact, I'm a giant cuddle-bug who wouldn't hurt a fly (or a cat!). Probably because of that misguided impression I've spent the past 3 years here at the rescue centre waiting to be adopted. My owners surrendered me back when I was just a year old. I guess I was bigger than they expected and they just didn't want me anymore.  I kept hoping someone would take the time to get to know me and see what a loving, obedient and loyal dog I am. But it hasn't happened... so now I'm placing my trust in Loved At Last to find me a home. I LOVE playing with other dogs and despite my size, I tend to be submissive with them.  It would be fabulous if I ended up in a home with a dog-friend and a yard for us both to play in. I am an energetic dog and would love to be able to run around. Look at me being a silly goofball in this video: https://youtu.be/Ikm_9TFccno. Aren't I such a ham?! I'm even good with cats!! Check out my video - https://youtu.be/lXnSTMpXd38 - who would have thought that you could put a big doggy like me in a room with 10+ cats and I'd be totally chill!  If you're up for it perhaps we could even be jogging buddies. Mind you, I'm a strong boy, so you'd need to feel pretty confident you could manage me; a halti might help with that.  Have I mentioned how much I adore people and have a special place in my heart for those that give me belly rubs?  Ah, what I wouldn't give to be part of a family who would give me belly rubs every day ((https://youtu.be/Lcl3XVWrxUE)) I loveeeee the belly rubs!! I hope that doesn't make me sound like I'm high maintenance. Really I'm not. Just some affection is what I long for. That, and to know that I finally have a home. I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $500 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. *Note: because I have had tick fever in the past I will require an annual course of Doxycycline as a preventative measure.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.    Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. ZIGGY Breed: Anatolian/Galgo (Spanish Greyhound) Age: 1-1/2 yrs Gender: m, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 81 lbs / 32.5 inches Energy level: moderate to active Relations: good with dogs / unknown cats & kids Highlights: loves to please, fast learner, enjoys human contact, friendly, gentleman and loves to snuggle. Region: Middle East - now LOCAL I am told I have a stunning look about me. It must go with the fact I have a stunning personality too. You will find I am a very sweet boy who loves other dogs and people too. My story - me and my siblings, were found on the streets. My Mom was having a lot of puppies and our rescuer was finally able to catch her, when us puppies were about 2-3 months old. Our Mom was spayed and we were put in a foster home, till we got bigger. My siblings are also listed with LALDR. An important thing you will notice is that I am smart boy and a fast learner, who loves to please. So, we should find great ways to have fun together. If you have another dog already, that is okay, then I can have a playmate. If it is a small dog I am very careful playing with them, https://youtu.be/n5KYcPUE3P8. I have not been around cats, so no idea of reactions toward them. But I am a real gentleman, so might not be much of an issue. You will find I am just a big lap dog, who will happily cuddle with anyone. When I went to the vet office, I was thriving with all the kids who wanted to pet me. I loved it.  I would enjoy a moderate to active home. One where we can go places to play and have toys to enjoy. I bet going hiking is a blast. I would make a good agility dog too, I think!  Nothing is better than running, jumping over things with my long legs and locating my person from every vantage point!  Ready when you are - let's go! I have made it to the US now and am in foster care in Seattle. My rescuer has matched me up with a trainer, so I can learn house manners and commands in English, of course. This way, I can be the most amazing dog ever when you adopt me. Come meet me,  bet you won't want to leave without me.  Let's get our life together rolling, eh?   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.    Looking for more furry friends?
