About A FOSTER Dog Application

This is the application that you should use if you are looking to apply to foster a dog AND ARE NOT planning to adopt.

Foster homes are one of the most important parts of any dog rescue. Without these homes, we wouldn't be able to rescue as many dogs as we do.

If you are looking to make a difference in a dogs life for a short period of time, please apply now.

What is fostering?

  • Fostering is agreeing to take a dog into your home, temporarily, while the rescue is receiving and reviewing applications for adoption.

What does it cost?

  • As a foster home, we can provide you with food, collar, leash. We will also cover any vet bills, but please speak to your foster coordinator before taking the dog to the vet unless its an emergency

What if I can only foster a small dog?

  • We will work with the limitations of our foster homes. If you are asked to foster a dog that is too big, please just let us know and we will look for another home.

What if I only want to foster a puppy?

  • Puppies are usually very easy to adopt and often don't need fostering. Please consider an older dog that could be even more fun!

What if I want to adopt?

  • If your intent is to adopt a dog, you will need to submit an adoption application for review.

I only want to foster a specific dog.

  • If you want a specific dog and only that dog, we recommend that you apply to adopt. International dogs are not normally available for fostering as we try to only bring them here if an approved adopter has been found.

We really need more foster homes and appreciate you reading this posting. I hope that you consider opening your heart and your home to help a dog in need. The love and care that you can provide for even a short period, will make a huge difference in the life of a dog.

Regards

Foster Team

BLITZEN (pending adoption)

Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Are you looking for a cool, calm, collected four-legged companion? Well, you just might be in luck! My name is Blitzen and I am a handsome 4 year old mixed retriever pup from Bahrain. I am quite the looker with my soft black fur, big brown eyes, and white speckled front paws. I stand about 27 inches tall and weigh about 65 pounds. I may have a pretty big stature; however I am super calm and gentle (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9lO34-9G2c&feature=youtu.be). How’d I end up in the dog shelter, you might ask? Well, me and my bro were abandoned by our owners when they decided to leave the country. Unfortunately, instead of finding us a new home, they just left us tied up in the garden. We stayed there, tied up for a long time. Thank our lucky stars though, somebody called the Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre (BARC) and they came and saved us! My bro and I are both safe and sound at the BARC shelter now, but we both deserve loving homes with cozy beds, treats, and lots of lovin’. I have been told that I’m grrrreat with other dogs (check out my video of me sharing a kennel with another pooch…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deb6Ca4T8bk&feature=youtu.be). I am still a young, youthful dog who loves walks and adventures, but I can also be calm and chill (can you say snoozes on the couch? Yes please!). My rescuers describe me as a lovely boy who is gentle and great with kids. I will admit, I’m not a huge fan of the kitties though, so a kitty-free home would be good for me. I’m a gem on the leash, look at my video- I’m such a good boy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWitNi4rAag&feature=youtu.be). Look how much I love having my head scratched hehe, I never want my humans to stop! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otCb6R8hv7U) Could you be my furever family? I guarantee we would be fast friends! I am neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. My adoption fee of $500 includes my airfare to Canada. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.    Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Helloo future family! My name is Bobby (Bob) and I am a striking 5 year old German Shepard-mix pup from Bahrain.  I’m a pretty handsome dude standing about 29 inches tall and weighing in at about 78 pounds. Quite a stud, dontcha think?  Despite my rugged good looks, I have a pretty shy personality. I know I know, the handsome hunk with the quiet, sweet personality… but it’s true!! My rescuers can vouch for me… I’m just a big pup who enjoys cuddles and lotsa love! I may be slightly shy when we first meet, but after a bit of time I’ll warm right up to you and we’ll be BFF’s after that! Did someone say walk? I LOVES walks!!! Walks on the grass, walks on the pavement, walks to the dog park, you name it… I LOVE IT! My rescuers say I get along great with other dogg-o’s and I even get along with kitties (check out my video… it’s the truth!). I’m still a young dog (5-years young, right!), but I’m pretty darn calm. As long as we go for walks and adventures, I will be perfectly happy to curl up on the couch right next to you for a nice long nap (zzzZZ). Being a bit of a skittish guy, I don’t like loud noises and sometimes meeting new people can be scary. Don’t worry; even though I may take some time to adjust to my new home, with some patience and lots of love… I have all the makings of a great companion!  Won’t you please give me a furever home?   I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $500 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Bran (Toni) **BONDED PAIR** Breed: Terrier mix Age: 1-1/2 yrs Gender: m, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 18 lbs & 12 inches Energy level: moderate Relations: good w/ dogs, kids-unknown cats Highlights: calm, cuddler, playful Region: Middle East You know how when you eat a certain flaky cereal and you keep wanting to put  more raisins in it? Well, now you can always have a Raisin available all the time. I will likely be medium-large in size when full grown. I am a really good and obedient listener. My great buddy Bran, (short for Brandon) and I are so attached to one another. We play and play. We are both friendly dogs. We hope you have room in your heart for 2. Us playing: https://youtu.be/KjPfJmEPUyQ. Here is my background... I was found by the side of a road in the Middle East, injured and not not be able to walk. A kind rescuer took me in and got surgery for me, a difficult one. The vet put a pin in each of my rear legs. You can see the xray photo of it. It took some rehab time, but now, as you can see in the videos, I can run and play just like my other buddies. See the video of all of us romping in my foster family's garden? https://youtu.be/cFU_2ovBkPE, https://youtu.be/_0WhmL9WhcU. Me as a puppy w/ my big friends. https://youtu.be/0BDwAZjoZaU https://youtu.be/F4a_JtJ_p04 Here we are with a little girl: https://youtu.be/fOW62MFDWak I have never been around cats though. I love to be around people and especially kids. https://youtu.be/cF7B2a9kR4o,  https://youtu.be/RxXRBuVnjJk. Probably, as I mature, a moderately active home would be about right. Right now, I have puppy energy. Now, heeeeerrrre's Brandon. Hi, it's me, Bran. I'm just a little squirt compared to my buddy, but boy do I love her. I can't imagine being apart from her now. When it's only me without my human, I can get a bit anxious, but with my terrific pal, Raisin around, I do A-ok. My rescuer bought me from a drug dealer off the street, who she figured must have stolen me from someone. I appeared to be in too nice of condition to have been out on the streets. When I am not egging Raisin on to play (https://youtu.be/EWWtpNSGX3k), I have a calm demeanor. I'm a real charmer who cuddles too. I love going for leisurely strolls taking in the smells... ok, well for you humans, the sights. My energy level is moderate too. https://youtu.be/6SCP5VWIhxM, https://youtu.be/2qYxLCoMU9Y. Raisin likes to play catch me if you can with me. https://youtu.be/MpK6SBgofI8.. Human games: https://youtu.be/vCYMCxautMY, wakey, wakey  https://youtu.be/ieNOmBjss5k. More play time. I'm a big dog too, right? https://youtu.be/ired9-oqYq0.   We have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Anyone out there interested in adding a happy-go-lucky, and active young pooch to their family? I am available and eager! My name is Breezy. I'm a two year old Saluki/Pointer mix from Bahrain, weighing 38lb and 21 inches tall. I was found lying under the hot sun in an empty field, along with my two siblings, when I was barely one week old. We had been abandoned and there was no sign of our mother anywhere. The people who discovered us took us home and hand-fed us. We have lived in the outside courtyard of their house ever since.  Now it's time for me to move on and find a proper home where I can really get to enjoy everything life has to offer.  I am the kind of dog who loves everyone I meet. After an initial shyness I will soon be on my back presenting you with the gift of my belly. It seems to me that this is one of the many pleasures that humans and dogs share; you like to stroke dog-tummies and I love to have mine stroked. It's a win-win! Don't be surprised if I nudge your hand toward me when you stop petting me. I just looooove any kind of attention and will do my best to make sure it doesn't end too soon. Although I have never lived inside a house, one of my favourite places to lounge is on the outdoor sofa next to someone willing to pet me endlessly. Ah, heaven! If you're looking for a dog who will enjoy going for long walks with you, I'm your girl. I have penty of energy and just love my walks. I'm also a big fan of water; the beach, the kiddie pool, wherever I have the chance, I won't hesitate to get in there. Maybe you live near a lake or a beach and you and I could take a walk there together? Even go for a swim? Since I am quite food motivated it's relatively easy to teach me things. So far I have learned sit, down and paw. I bet you have a few other things you'd like me to do. Bring it on; I want to please you. While I haven't yet met a lot of dogs other than my siblings, my carers are starting to socialize me more in preparation for my future with you. I tend to be a bit timid when I first meet strange dogs, but once I'm comfortable I like to play rough. So, if you have another dog who has a similar play style, that would probably be the best match.  Cats and birds are not creatures I could share a home with though, as I tend to chase them.  My dream would be to find an active family and a home with a yard.  Even though I am already a happy dog, that would just be the best thing ever!   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Buck (Blackie) Breed: Lab Age: 2 yrs Gender: m, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 55 lbs / 33 inches Energy level: moderate Relations: good with small dogs and kids / unknown cats Highlights: smart, mellow, attention hog, bit timid outside home Region: Middle East You see that sleek handsome black dog in the pictures, that is me, Buck. Pleasure to meet you. As a young male dog of 1 year old, I am a boy tall in stature and with great heights of heart. Now, allow me to let you in on my life story. Picture this, almost 2 years ago in the midst of a cold, snowy winter somewhere in the Middle East, I was just a puppy abandoned in a box on the side of the street with 2 of my brothers. I was sick and our mother was nowhere in sight. Our doomed fate changed when our rescuer was visiting one of their clients at a manufacturing plant nearby. A warehouse worker stumbled upon us and showed us to our rescuer. The rest is history. They took us to the vet and while my brothers were healthy, I was diagnosed with Parvo Virus and was hospitalized. When I was all healthy again, I joined my brothers. We have been living with our rescuer in their Villa. As grateful as I am for them, we agree it is about time I fly the coop and see the world for myself and find people who can give me the life I deserve. I have not been much of an inside dog. I have had access to the outside all the time, so will need to be taught about letting you know when I have to go out. I have been going out for walks on a leash for a few months now, but had not received much exposure to these things until more recently, so I am a bit timid outside of the home. Cars and strangers are a bit scary. I just don't understand it all yet. I need an adopter who will take the time and guide me through this scary world and show me that it is not so bad. As a young dog with a sharp wit and an eagerness to learn, I can pick up tricks and commands well. I am quite smart. Maybe we can make a hobby of tricks. I am the kind of pup that really, really cares for their person. Because of this though, I would do best as an only dog. I am a bit of a diva and will bully my way in for attention. I have not met any cats in my day, so probably best in a cat free home. Children are great though and smaller dogs are fine, no sweat. I guess I sound quirky, but if you stick with me, we can be the next dynamic duo! The ideal home for me would be of moderate, but mellow activity. One hopefully with a yard, as it would be nice to have a place where I can stretch my long, lanky legs. Living in a home with these creatures called “Children” would be fine with me, because I would have playmates. A family that can help me get over fears and just hold my paw to show me how great the world can be, would be perfect. Let me show you how bright my heart of hold it will shine when you choose me to bring home with you.   I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Hiya! I’m Buttons, a beautiful Chihuahua-mix pup, fresh off the streets of Mexico. I am almost 3 months old and weigh just under 5 pounds right now, I’m so teeny and cute! My rescuers are pretty darn sure that I will remain a small girl, even once I’m fully grown.   I was rescued off the streets of Chapala, a town in Jalisco, Mexico. Me and my bro, Beau, were all alone out there. Thank goodness we were rescued!! We are now safe and sound at a shelter in Mexico. I am a healthy pup and am soooo ready to start my exciting life, hopefully with you! My rescuers say that I am curious, adventurous, and full of typical puppy energy! I get along well with all the other dogs at the shelter, but I especially adore my fave rescue friend, Marley, who is medium-sized. I could easily live in a home with another doggy friend if you have one. I have never met a human that I didn’t like, and boy do I LOVEEE to be cuddled. Do you like to cuddle? I’m your gal! I’d love nothing more than the chance to move to Canada and live with my own humans. I hear the Pacific North West is so pretty (just like me, hehe) and full of trails to walk and dog parks to play in. Think you could be my furever friend? Please give me a home, I’m waiting! My spay is mandatory for my adoption to be finalized. LALDR does not cover the cost of sterilization on dogs arriving under 8 months of age. I have been vaccinated with all my puppy shots. My adoption fee of $600 includes my airfare to Canada. Hiya! My name is Caity and I currently live in a shelter in Bahrain. I am a beautiful 2 year old, pittie/lab mix. Standing about 25 inches tall, I am 60 pounds of pure gentleness! I am incredibly friendly and LOVE people. I was rescued from a cruel person who used me as a bait dog in a dog-fighting business. It's unbearable to think about, I know. I still have some scars on my body from that time, but it's something I don't think about any more. All I think about is finding a home to call my own! I have been at the Shelter for so long now and it makes me sad. I know my "pittie" breed can scare some people off, but I SWEAR I am such a sweetie! I wouldn't hurt a fly.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RC4LPo572A&feature=youtu.be Despite everything I have been through, I am one incredibly friendly pup! Everyone I meet gets a wagging tail and a sloppy kiss. And if you let me cuddle up to you I will be the happiest girl in the world - I LOVE cuddles!  I get along well with other dogs (see how I wag my tail in my video), however sometimes I can be a bit shy. I don't have an aggressive bone in my adorable body, so I tend to be submissive with other dogs. I won't lie, I'd love to have a human allllll to myself, but if you have a sweet dog in your home already, I would be more than happy to share you with him or her! I will confess... I have chased a few cats in my time... so I probably should go to a kitty-free home. Oooh did I mention I'm pretty smart?! What me come when I'm called in my video! I'm a moderately active young girl who loves to go for walks! I can also totally chill out on the couch with you (remember, I love cuddles!!). I would love a yard to run around in, but a local dog park would suffice as well. Can't you tell, I'm pretty darn laid back. All I want is someone who can love me unconditionally for the rest of my doggy life. I'd love it if that included yummy treats, adventures, walks, and belly rubs! Can you picture the two of us taking lovely walks together side by side? I can! If you were to pick me from all the dogs on this site, I would think I'd died and gone to doggy heaven. Please make my dream come true! You won't regret it; I'll repay you with doggy kisses of gratitude forever!   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. Casey Breed: Lab/Golden Retriever/German Shepard Age: 10 months Gender: Fe, Spayed Wgt/Hgt: 45 lbs / 21-3/4 inches Energy level: moderate-high Relations: good with other dogs & kids / cats unknown Highlights: smart, can jump fences, loves playing, LOVES her people, mild separation anxiety Hiya! My name is Casey and I have recently been brought from the Middle East to Canada! I am a lovely girl with LOTS of love to give and boy do I ever LOVE people. I will fall head over tail in love with you in an instant!  Let me give you a little recap of my life so far... I was found in the jungle with my sister when we were about a month old, with our mama nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, I got Parvovirus, but thankfully my rescuer got me treatment and I won the battle against the nasty illness. Just so you know, I'm a super healthy pup now!  In foster care, I have been learning to love the comfort of my crate, play time with my doggie friends, and that WALKS ARE AMAZING! I like all kinds of walks: road, forests, rivers, rocks, and grass! OUTSIDE IS AWESOME! I get a little stressed out when my people leave, but I have come leaps and bounds from the beginning, when I was afraid of being left forever! I have started walking my foster-kids to and from school every day and I've been such a good girl! My manners are improving and I try reallyyyy hard to listen to commands.  I am good with chillin' in my kennel - so that's a bonus! I sleep on a doggy bed beside my foster mama, oh that is so nice. I'm awesome with little kids (my foster mum runs a daycare!)  I've got a 90% success rate with other dog-o's, however if a dog invades my personal space I can get a bit defensive. Me and my mum are working on fixing that. With continued time, patience, and TLC I will become a strong and confident pup! Check out how good I am at playing with my new foster bro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxgmS9StVVY&feature=youtu.be Now, on to my charming personality... I have been told that I am a kind girl who likes to play and run with other doggies. Sometimes I am afraid of men when I first meet them, especially if you're big and tall. If I'm scared I'll run and hide, but with patience and some treats (yum!), I will become more comfortable. Ladies, don't worry, I'm not afraid of you... so you can get ALLLL my love right away! As I mentioned before... I don't really like being alone, I'd just way rather hangout with you all the time! My separation anxiety has gotten MUCH better over time though, so although being alone still isn't my favourite thing, I'm OK for short periods. My foster mama says that I have learned to be a good girl in my crate while my people are out. I enjoy running and playing with other dogs. https://youtu.be/BjyN8F3hYxU. I also like playing ball and with toys. Someone say BALL?!! Ever heard the saying "Good things take time"? Well... that's me! I am sweet, caring, smart, loving, kind and gentle. I just need time to feel comfortable in my surroundings and to be able to trust people and other dogs. Remember, I'm still just a puppy and have lots to learn. It just takes time! Will you give me the opportunity to grow into the amazing dog I know I can be? My dream family: having a mom or dad who can stay with me most of the time (I hear working from home is pretty awesome) or who can put me in doggy daycare (so I can play with other doggy friends while you go to work). Did I mention that I LOVE sleepovers with humans? Yup, I'm a cuddler!  I'm also smart and have already started to learn new tricks! Oh, I'm also a great high-jumper, so I hope you have a nice tall fence! It would be really nice to have a yard to run around in or be able to go to the dog parks to stretch my legs and have friends to play with. Won't you bring sweet-faced me into your home? We can become fast friends! I'm waiting. I am spayed, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. UPDATE: Casey has serious allergic reactions to anesthesia and sutures, which we discovered when she was spayed.  My adoption fee is $600.00 CAD.   Looking for more furry friends? Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hi everyone, Charlotte here.  I feel like I must be dreaming, but it seems I really do have a chance at finding a home. I am a one year old Jindo mix from South Korea, weighing 26lb and 17 inches tall. Until recently I had only known life at the end of a short chain. My rescue occurred after a villager complained that there were many strays on his property. The firefighters came out to round up the strays and when they followed the dogs they came across me and another female chained up behind some buildings.  Our ten puppies were close by, many of them in small cages.    It turned out that our owner had been in hospital for some time so we had been without food, water or any kind of attention for far too long and were in a sorry state. When they were asked about us, the owners family told the firefighters to kill us all! Thankfully that didn't happen and we were instead taken to a private rescue facility. That's where I am now while I wait for you to send for me. Despite that experience I am a bright and lively dog who adores being around people. I am the kind of dog who will approach every stranger with a wagging tail in the hope that I get a scratch or a stroke or a few kind words. If there are children around, that's even better; I love them and will be gentle and patient while they touch me.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvWmGV0uTaI&list=PL3UlJJYID8eGQ_AW6sqGPkc6FpFPxCdCT&index=7 I really am all about people so when it comes to other dogs I tend to be indifferent.  They are perfectly fine, but I just don't find them nearly as interesting as humans.  To be honest, I show more curiosity when I meet cats. If they would play with me, that would be cool, but I won't be offended if they tell me to get lost either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eepCaLCLxt0&list=PL3UlJJYID8eGQ_AW6sqGPkc6FpFPxCdCT&index=5 Being outdoors is my preference whenever possible. And being outdoors with people is the ultimate. It would be awesome if I could find a home with someone who loved to go for hikes exploring the natural world with their best friend (me!) by their side.  Or we could just play tug-o-war together; I like that too!  Since I'm quite motivated by food you would probably find me easy to train. And because I am so eager to please you I will give you all my attention.  So what do you say? Can we start sharing this wonderful life together?  I'll be waiting to hear from you.   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. CHICHI (tripaw)

Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. ChiChi (Nafas) Breed: Golden Retriever/Kangal Age: 4 yrs Gender: fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 55 lbs / 21-1/2 inches Energy level: moderate Relations: good w/ dogs / unknown kids, cats Highlights: sweet, liked to stay near you Region: Middle East I am quite kind with people and enjoy hanging around with them.  I used to live in a garden area. One day robbers came to the garden and when I tried to defend my owner and his garden, the robbers hurt me. They broke my paw very badly. Unfortunately the damage was so deep, the vets could not save it. That makes me part of the tripaw club. My owner left me in a shelter after that, because he thought I could no longer protect his garden. So, here I wait for a loving home.  The shelter staff loves me. I think it is because I am so sweet and like walking with them at the shelter. I like other dogs too. I am afraid of sticks and things like shovels though. So please keep that in mind when we are out working in your yard. I am sure with time, love and patient training, I should be able to overcome those fears. I hope you are the family to bring me into a safe and loving home. I am waiting to walk through your door. https://youtu.be/HZoFZeU85jU I would enjoy a mellower home, moderate in activity. If you have another canine buddy for me, that is fine, though not required. Cats and children are not ones I have been around, so probably best to stay with a dog based home.  A yard would be very welcome, as I really liked my garden. We could stretch out on the grass in the sun together, while you scratch my belly. That would be really special.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $450.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada. Sterilization is required. My spay/neuter is mandatory for my adoption to be finalized. Chickpea (Luci) Breed: English Pointer mix Age: 7 yrs Gender: fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 88 lbs / 27-1/2 inches Energy level: moderate Relations: good with non-dominant dogs / unknown kids & cats Highlights: tripaw, likes lounging & playing, food protective, curious Region: Middle East Hmmm, yummy chickpeas. See my spots, kind of the color of chickpeas. I have a super sweet smile, as you can see by my photo. Yes, I am a large girl with a large heart of love.  I soooo desire to know the love of a family. I have been stuck in a shelter since I was a puppy. https://youtu.be/YymFplmF1CA. Living in the Middle East as a dog is a very harsh experience. The municipality where I lived with my 4 puppies, hired people to kill dogs around the farm areas here (they always did that by shooting us when the number of dogs increased and the people called them in to do it.) My babies were thrown in the river. They beat me with sticks, as often happened to dogs running around. My leg was injured and in really awful condition. It was broken and infected, so I was chewing it off. I wasn't able to step with my leg. It would just drag on the ground when walking. This created deep wounds and the skin was rubbed off. It was so painful. Rescuers saved many of us in the area. The doctor ended up having to cut off part of my leg above the infection though, because the infection was moving up my leg, which would have meant losing my leg completely and possibly my life. Like most dogs, I have adapted very well to being a tri-paw and I get around just fine. There is a video of me you can watch. Probably because of the things that happened in my past, I remain rather fearful of people. I watch the other dogs enjoying the touch of human hands and I envy their ability to trust and relax in the presence of people. I used to be very comfortable hanging out & playing with my canine friends and you can often find me curled up beside one of them having a little snooze. Lately, I have become more alpha dog. I think it is all these years being stuck in the shelter. I need to get out. Then I can learn to relax again. Please don't let me linger here longer. I can be just a little food protective with other dogs. Feeding us apart from one another might be good to start off. I am shy around humans, so I am uncomfortable having people move too quickly to  approach me. I also have trouble allowing someone to touch me, until I sense the trust. I tend to get nervous and escape quickly, if you try to take hold of me. I am sure it must have been all my experiences with people who do not like or understand dogs and those who were trying to harm me. I do enjoy exploring everything though. That curiosity would likely work in your favor for training purposes. Bet you could help smooth me out like hummus. I will need a patient place to overcome the past. I want to find out what being in a loving home is all about in this great dog loving land of Canada I hear about. A home that is calm with someone who is willing to take time, allowing me to become comfortable with my environment and go slow teaching me is what I need most. In fact, I would probably benefit from having another calm dog in my future home to help build my confidence and show me the ropes of how to act being around humans. One that isn't interested in being the big cheese. Also to show me that everything is safe. I really enjoy lounging around too. So maybe we can become snuggle partners one day. I am sure my sweet nature will start to pour out with your help. I need time, patience and love. If you can feel my heart reaching to yours, please save me from a lonely existence and help me become the dog of my dreams. Please do not wait another minute, allow me the chance to become the dog of your dreams too. My adoption fee is $400.00, this includes my airfare to Canada.
