About A FOSTER Dog Application

This is the application that you should use if you are looking to apply to foster a dog AND ARE NOT planning to adopt.

Foster homes are one of the most important parts of any dog rescue. Without these homes, we wouldn't be able to rescue as many dogs as we do.

If you are looking to make a difference in a dogs life for a short period of time, please apply now.

What is fostering?

  • Fostering is agreeing to take a dog into your home, temporarily, while the rescue is receiving and reviewing applications for adoption.

What does it cost?

  • As a foster home, we can provide you with food, collar, leash. We will also cover any vet bills, but please speak to your foster coordinator before taking the dog to the vet unless its an emergency

What if I can only foster a small dog?

  • We will work with the limitations of our foster homes. If you are asked to foster a dog that is too big, please just let us know and we will look for another home.

What if I only want to foster a puppy?

  • Puppies are usually very easy to adopt and often don't need fostering. Please consider an older dog that could be even more fun!

What if I want to adopt?

  • If your intent is to adopt a dog, you will need to submit an adoption application for review.

I only want to foster a specific dog.

  • If you want a specific dog and only that dog, we recommend that you apply to adopt. International dogs are not normally available for fostering as we try to only bring them here if an approved adopter has been found.

We really need more foster homes and appreciate you reading this posting. I hope that you consider opening your heart and your home to help a dog in need. The love and care that you can provide for even a short period, will make a huge difference in the life of a dog.

Regards

Foster Team

PAWLMER (Pam Pam) *Bonded pair with ASHLEY Breed: Long hair Tabby/Siberian Age:2 yrs Gender: m, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 8 lbs Energy level: Relations: good with dogs and cats / unknown children Highlights: 1 eyed, likes people, Region: Middle East It was a dark and stormy night, no wait, that's Snoopy's line. I'm a loving kitty and my story goes like this... my rescuers found me about a year ago with a serious eye injury. Nobody is sure what happened, but the vet couldn't save my eye. I have been in boarding for a year now. Here I sit waiting for a real home. I guess nobody wants a one eyed kitty. Look at the gorgeous color of my eyes though. Wouldn't that be a bright sight waking up in the morning? Oh, did I mention I like sleeping on the bed with people? Yup, people are super. I even get along with dogs. Other cats too. In fact, me & Ashley are a team. We hang together all the time. Due to our dependence on each other, we need to go together to a home. I have not interacted with children yet. I have average cat energy. I like to sleep, play snuggle & ignore you. You know, the whole feline phenomenon. Double your pleasure, double your fun... bring Ashley and me into your family.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Our adoption fee is $300.00 CAD, this includes our airfare to Canada.     Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Hiya friends, Peachy here! I am a purrdyyy 6 year old lab-saluki mix pooch looking for my furever family. I'm 23 inches tall and weigh about 55 pounds - a perfect size, if I do say so myself!  My mama and her 6 newborn pups (including me!) were found on an abandoned worksite near a mall in Sitra in 2014. For a while, a nice local watchman was feeding us and keeping us safe... but then one weekend the whole site got cleared for construction and we had no safe place anymore. Luckily, my rescuer found us, got us in her car, and tried to get us adopted. Unfortunately, only 2 of my siblings were adopted, so the rest of us remained in a shelter until 2017. Then BARC (Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre) took us in and they have been trying to find us homes ever since! My rescuers don't know why I haven't been adopted yet; you see, I'm quite the catch! I am excellent with doggies and kitty cats (check out my video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpZ3_M6p_VU&feature=youtu.be ) and I LOVE attention from my hoomans! Ear scratches, belly rubs, couch cuddles, walks... you name it, I love it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iO8NHmUJcLE&feature=youtu.be Still not convinced? Check out how I give gentle kisses to people who treat me nice! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3yZTUnEMzY&feature=youtu.be Being a youthful middle-aged pup, I will be a great companion for just about anyone! I am pretty mellow after I've had my daily walk and I would loveeee to curl up beside you for a snooze. Sounds pretty awesome, right?! Pretty please won't you be my FUREVER family? I'd forever repay you with kisses, tail wags, and companionship. I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $500, which includes my flight to Canada! PIXAR (Poneh) Breed: Terrier (Airdale?)/German Shepard Age: 3 years Gender: fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: ~63 lbs / 24-1/2 inches Energy level: moderate to active Relations: good with dogs & kids, / unknown cats Highlights: very social, loves to play, cuddler, curious Attached at the hip... that's how close we will be. I am a very people oriented girl. Over here in the Middle East is where I was saved. It was very obvious when my resuers saw me for the first time, that I had an owner before. I did not know how to manage among the stray dogs. I was very often attacked by other dogs, since I was not familiar with living in a pack dynamic. I kept begging all the time to be taken home, and used to jump in cars of those who came to feed us. Sometimes I was so unhappy that my rescuers felt I was crying. I used to run after all cars passing by, in hope that a person would stay and take me home. One day my rescuers finally took me and 10 other dogs for sterilization surgery. I was very happy a person had finally come to take me. After my spaying, my rescuers did not have the heart to leave me where I had been anymore, so I was taken to a shelter, where I now await my forever home. It is in my nature to be gentle, whether with other dogs or people, that includes children. I haven't been around cats though to know how I would react to them. I am quite attached to human critters and I'm not shy, I will say hello to everyone I meet. I love to play and can be very curious. Cuddling is a favorite of mine. I do okay on a leash, but a bit more work on that would be good. My ideal home would be one that allows for meeting people as we go about our walk through life, lots of cuddling & some adventurous fun. Most of all, just being with you.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.    Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Poneh Breed: English Shepherd Mix Age: 1 yr Gender: Female, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 44 lbs / 22 inches Energy level: Moderate to active Relations: Good with Dogs & Children / Unknown Cats Highlights: Friendly, playful, gentle I am a wonderfully gentle girl. From pitiful puppy to playful princess: I've come a long way from my troubled start in life, in the Middle East. At only four weeks old, I was tossed out like trash at the local dump where garbage is burned. Luckily, my rescuers found me along with another puppy. We were both in very bad shape, and my friend didn't make it. It was a long journey back to health, but I am a survivor. My rescuers had hoped to keep me, but due to a health crisis in the family, they had to give me up to a shelter. As part of my healing process, I was shaved - but it's grown back in now. I'm a gorgeous girl with a beautiful coat and distinctive markings. Now that I'm healthy, all I want is a home to call my own. Do you have a playful pup at home who would like a friend? I get along with dogs of all sizes. You can see me and my best buddy, Namaste hanging out in one of the photos together. I currently live with ten other dogs! I've impressed my foster family with how gentle I am with children and small dogs. I would love to have a playmate - I love to run and play. My ideal family would take me on long walks, hikes or trips to the dog parks. I wouldn't say no to a backyard to play in either. More than anything, I want to experience being part of a family. I'd love to play, and cuddle, and lounge with my people. It would be amazing to have toys, snacks and a big fluffy bed. I have a fighting spirit and a beautiful temperament. I also have a lot of love to give. If you are ready for this fluffy bundle of joy, just click Adopt, and I'll hop on a plane as soon as I can! I'm quite the waggy tail girl: https://youtu.be/aAMgFbmKfj0.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. This is my big chance to get your attention and I don't want to blow it.  I'm giving you my best 'please-love-me' look and just hoping you'll see that I could be your special girl. I am a two year old, 42lb, 26 inch tall, Pointer mix from Bahrain and I am so ready to share my life with you. My two siblings and I were found in the scorching hot sun in the middle of a field when we were just tiny puppies, about a week old. Our mom was nowhere to be found and we were starving and dehydrated. Luckily our cries drew the attention of some people who brought us home. We were hand reared by our rescuers and have lived in the spare room and garden of their home ever since.  I know this is not the same as actually living in the house where the family pet lives; we don't get nearly as much time and attention from the people who live here; but it's better than living on the streets like many dogs do. But, oh how I long to be able to sit beside my person while they watch t.v, or curl up in my bed while you sleep beside me in yours. And what a dream it would be to go for regular walks and explore the neighbourhood together. That's the kind of life I hope to have one day, if I'm lucky. My rescuers have been spending time teaching me important skills to help make me adoptable. Like how to walk nicely on leash, how to respond to commands like 'sit', 'down', 'paw'.  They have also taught me to be comfortable in a crate.  I'm the kind of dog who gets very attached to the people I spend time with. Despite being a little too big for it, I like to climb onto my carer's lap if she'll let me. I'm really a bit of a softie, I admit it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mzz77Cv4yUQ&feature=youtu.be When it comes to meeting other dogs I tend to be on the timid side, though in preparation for my future life my guardians are starting to take me on more pack walks and introducing me to new dogs.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5NRcCGNwO0&feature=youtu.be My future home should be one where I am the only dog because, despite my generally timid nature with dogs outside the home, I can get possessive of my food and space. To tell the truth it would be heavenly for me to have human companions who will finally give me the love and attention I long for, and I really don't want to share that with another dog. (Or cat, for that matter.) I am not a high energy dog but I do love going for walks. And if you happen to live near water or have a play-pool in the yard, I'd love to cool off with a splash around in it. When I first arrive in your world I'm likely to be a little nervous. Everything will be so different. I tend to look for comfort from my human guardians so I do hope you won't mind if I squeeze myself up onto your lap for a cuddle. Please let me be your special girl. I just know you're out there somewhere waiting to find me.    I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. Purdy (Nora) Breed: East Euro Shepard mix Age: 2 years Gender: Fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 62 lbs / 29.5 inches Activity level: easy to moderate Relations: good with dogs/ unknown cats & kids Highlights: house trained, friendly but bit timid at first, well behaved, foot damaged, loves tummy rubs Those who run the shelter allow me to freely roam around the shelter, because I am so well-behaved. Yup that's me, a good girl - sweet like chocolate... Purdy's chocolate and I'm sure you know how good that is. Life didn't start out well for us here in the West Bank, but things are really starting to look up now that I am getting a chance to find a home. My bro and me were dumped in a cardboard box near the shelter as puppies. I have a little trouble with my paw, as a car ran over it when I was little. The vet said bones were smashed in some toes when he saw the x-rays. I can walk though and get around okay walking and hopping on 3 legs. Perhaps a soft bootie will help more. My rescuer is checking what else to do about that foot. Though I can be a bit timid at first meeting, if you just have a bit of patience with me, I will warm up to you and get friendly. Once introduced and comfortable though, I am friendly with anyone. It is just first time nervousness, given time and slow intro, I fare better. Oh, I am also house trained already, big plus. I really love people, once over my trepidation. I certainly like other dogs too. I have not yet been around the feline persuasion yet however, so unknown what my reactions may be to one. Nor have I had the chance to make acquaintance with kids. Ideally upwards of an easy going to moderately active home would suit me. Whether with a family or person wanting a buddy to hang with, I would be happy with either. I just think it will feel so great to have grass under my feet and a loving tummy rub. Canada sounds wonderful. Hoping you can bring me into your home soon. My wait has been so long.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. RANA Breed: Domestic Short Hair Age: 9 months Gender: fe, spayed Wgt: 8 lbs Energy level: Average Relations: good with dogs & cats / unknown kids Highlights: perky, playful, happy, shortened paws in front (tripaw)  Region: Middle East I am a playful, happy kitty who needs a loving home. I was a victim of unimaginable human cruelty. Just a few months ago, I was found in a building with my paws dipped in a bowl of cement. My paws & skin were melted from the heat. Due to this, I lost the end of one paw and the lower part of my leg on the other: https://youtu.be/k7u0Fc5MHNk. My right paw with time and care grew back the skin, but my left paw remained exposed. I was losing weight and was in unimaginable pain. After, lots of opinions from vets and many rejections from some, my rescuers decided to go against euthanizing me. Phew. They instead decided to take the risk and do skin grafting surgery. Against all odds the surgery was successful and I am now the energetic kitten you see hopping my way around the room: https://youtu.be/hib29_IZdI-9_IZdI. You will see my left elbow doesn't bend though, as the muscles were too badly damaged. But I use both paws and put weight on them with no issues. I don't seem to to be experiencing any pain. So, I can be a wild and crazy kitty... playing with my toys & my people: https://youtu.be/PKe_1BxWKq8. I have an amazing zest for life and a sweet personality. I am great with other animals, cats or dogs. I would like a home where I am an indoor cat. I can be a chillin kitty too: https://youtu.be/MekfDB-N0AQ. This incident hasn't affected my spirit any. I am a perky girl, who acts like any other cat. You will love my silly antics, like getting into the candy jar: https://youtu.be/6akWaraHiRE or flipping a toy around: https://youtu.be/B5anhc6dKlg.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Ever heard of Ripley's Believe-It-or-Not? Well... I'm Ripley and believe it or not, I really am this cute. My rescuers aren't sure what breed I am, but I look like I might be a Lab/Boxer Mix. So far I'm a pretty good-sized pup though; I'm 5 months old and about 18 pounds! My sister (Paige) and I were rescued from the streets of Mexico, a scary place to be for 2 small pups! I'm a happy pooch now, and my favourite thing seems to be sleeping right next to my people, no matter what they're doing! Couch, bed, lawn furniture... you name it, I'll sleep on it! All I want is to be close to you, I think it's because people make me feel safe (oh and they rub my belly.... I LOVES the belly rubs). But don't be fooled, I love to play too- I am a puppy after all! I wonder what it would be like to have a dog park to run around in or to have endless toys to chew on? Can I convince you to give me a furever home? I've been told that I have a calm demeanor for a puppy, I don't bark much, and I don't even chew up anything or get into mischief! Don't I sound pretty darn perfect?? My rescuers think that I will do well in any situation; I'm an adaptable pup who gets along with other dogs and loves people! I don't have any experience with cats, so I'm not sure how I'd feel about living with one of those meow-y animals. My sweet face and loving nature makes me an ideal pupcake for any family or single person. Pleaseeeee give me a home!!   I haven't been neutered yet because I'm still too little, but I have been vaccinated. My adoption fee is $600.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Hello to my future furever family! My name is Robbie (or you can call me Rob). I am a handsome two-year old, 55-pound (70cm tall) bundle of love. My rescuers think I might be a Shepherd-Saluki mix; whatever breed I may be... I must say, I'm pretty dang cute! What's my personality like, you might ask? Well, I am a super sweet, bubbly, friendly, outgoing, and gentle pup. It doesn't get better than that, eh? Oh I'm also 95% house-trained AND apparently I'm great on a leash! I'm pretty active and love being outside. Perhaps we could go for runs, long walks, or visit some doggy friends at the local dog park? What's my story? I was found in an area of Bahrain called Adilya, where I was hanging out near a restaurant looking all sweet and lonely and oh so very hungry. My rescuer fed me some bread  and then guess what? I followed her and jumped straight into her car! My kind rescuer took me to the shelter, where I have been ever since. Although I'm so lucky not to be on the streets anymore, I long for a real home filled with love, cuddles, and maybe a nice soft bed. Could you be my furever family? I hear amazing things about the Canadian West Coast, oh how I'd love to travel there! Although there is no video of me hanging out with cats or kids, my rescuer says that I'm a gentle boy and get along with every animal and kiddo that I meet. I have been neutered, vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada. Rocco Breed: Lhasa Apso/Terrier Age: 4 yrs Gender: m, neutered Wgt/Hgt 20 lbs/ 13-3/4 inches Activity level: moderate/average Relations: good with dogs/ unknown cats & kids Highlights: good on leash, loves walking, house trained, likes playing with toys My life started out pretty rough here in the Middle East. I was owned by a drug addict for a while. He burned me with cigarettes and skewers. My skin was a mess from that damage when my rescuers freed me. The abuse left me fearful of men for some time. I have been learning over time and now have much better trust in people, especially if I see you are good with other dogs. I am such a good boy. I know how to walk nicely for you and how to do my business outside. I may look serious, but I really like playing with my stuffed animal toys. I think it would be grand to have a family that would take me for many nice walks. It would be fun to go to dog parks too, but we don't have to get totally wild, because I am pretty average in energy, so kicking back at home between our excursions would be great, as well. Are you ready for a sweet little boy in your home? Here I am... waiting... tick tock, tick tock... did you click on the adopt button yet? What are you waiting for? You know you want me. heeheee. Thy application awaits.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website. *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.  show less

Hello out there - are you the one who's been looking for me? My name is Rosa and I am as sweet as can be and so ready to find a home.  I am a 2 year old Saluki/Shepherd mix from Kuwait. I weigh about 55lb and am 20 inches tall.   I used to live on the streets along with a big pack of other friendly dogs. We were known for our wagging tails and friendly natures. When the shelter volunteers would come by on their regular feeding routes I was one of the first to run up to them for treats and a scratch on the head.  When I gave birth to a litter of 9 puppies the volunteers decided I needed to be moved inside to a safe place to nurse them. It turned out that we were rescued just in time. Shortly after they had taken us in all the other dogs in our pack were poisoned as part of city campaign to rid the place of strays.    I have been a good mom and, in keeping with my gentle nature, have always allowed people to handle my puppies without complaint.   They have now been weaned and some of them have already been adopted to loving homes in Canada and the U.S.   Now I'm hoping it's my turn. My carers are busy preparing me for life in my future home. They are teaching me how to walk nicely on a leash and how to go to the bathroom outside.  We have visited a school for a fundraising event and I soaked in the attention those little people gave me.  I would probably be a good family dog because of my calm personality. So far I haven't met any cats and since coming here with my puppies I haven't met any new dogs. My carers are planning to introduce me to some other dogs soon though, so please check back here when I'll be able to tell you more. In the meantime I'd love it if you would keep me in mind. It could be that you and I have a wonderful future together. I really hope so.   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. Have you ever seen such an adorable pair of sisters? Well, you could bring us home and get to see our two smiley faces every day. We'd really, really love that.  We are about 18 months old, approximately 45lb and 24 inches tall. We look like Shepherd/Kelpie mix dogs and we're here in Bahrain waiting for you to send for us. There were three of us originally, left in a cardboard box on the doorstep of the shelter when we were just days old.  At that point we needed round-the-clock care in order to survive without our mom so we were placed in a foster home.  By the  time we were strong enough to be moved the shelter our foster mom had fallen in love with all three of us. She could only take one, so we parted ways with our third sibling and Ruby and I have been living at the shelter ever since. Given our sweet, friendly natures you'd think we would have been adopted by now. But maybe it's because we are so closely bonded and need to go to a home together that it hasn't happened here in Bahrain. Between you and me, these people just don't realize that we bring double the love, twice as much fun and have the added benefit of keeping each other company when we're left alone. We are the kind of dogs who really enjoy going for walks so would be delighted to find a home with someone who likes that too. We get along very well with other dogs, are indifferent to cats and really love all people. Please can you help us finally leave the shelter and start living the kind of life we hear about.  I dream of sharing a home with a human family who love us. I know it will happen one day. Can that day be tomorrow please?   We are spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and our joint adoption fee of $900 CAD includes our airfare to Canada. show less
