About Kiki

Kiki is a very mild-tempered happy cat. Don't let her ear fold caused scowl to hold you back from considering her. She is a sweetheart all the way. She has adjusted to feeding once a day, only throwing up once at first when she overate. But she knows she will get fed now so she is pacing herself and putting on much needed weight. Her litter box skills could use help - or a box that has higher sides but she has used it consistently since day one. She is very vocal in the morning and would do well with a morning person who could give her pets in the morning or ANY time of day. She really wants to sleep on (in) my bed but makes do with a blanket on the couch. My boyfriend calls her an aggressive cuddler cuz she will follow you around, rubbing against your legs and when you sit, push her head into your hands to get pets.  There she purrs and falls asleep happy.  She will let you pet any part of her without hissing or getting mad, even rolling on her back to get her belly rubbed.  I think she would be good with kids, because she can take a little person handling.

Our adoption fees cover transport from a reservation or high-intake shelter, vaccinations, deworming, food, alteration, any needed treatments and microchipping for identification. We foster our animals in homes around Colorado instead of one central facility, so your adoption payment goes further toward helping more animals find safe homes filled with love.

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Fergie is a loving adult dog, estimated to be 4 to 5 years old, recently arrived to Colorado from Gallup, New Mexico. She is a devoted girl who would love to stay by her person's side (or under their desk) and guard their home (she barks if she hears or sees something outside she feels is noteworthy). Fergie has a shiny, soft, and deep black coat with brown accents and is full-grown and medium-sized at about 43 pounds. Her personality is mellow overall but she is also playful; Fergie loves to play with squeaky dog toys and to retrieve them for people too. Of course, she loves going on walks or hikes or other outdoor adventures. Fergie likes to splash around in water... given the opportunity, she will probably like to swim! Watch this video: https://youtu.be/96i3kRkzWu4 She is being fostered in Longmont, CO, where she lives with four other dogs (from 20 lbs to 55 lbs) and gets along with all of them. Fergie is house trained, leash trained, crate trained, and doggie-door trained. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and ready to go to her forever home. She is calm on car rides (and she doesn't get car sick). Fergie will make a wonderful fur buddy for some lucky family or person! If you're like to meet Miss Fergie and see if she's the right dog for your home or family, please submit an adoption application to RezDawg Rescue today!  RezDawg's adoption fees cover rescue and transportation costs, spay/neuter, microchip, deworming and vaccinations to bring the animals up-to-date at their time of adoption. You save a bundle of money by adopting from a non-profit—and even more importantly, you allow RezDawg to save another animal from being euthanized. Hilda’s story captured the hearts of many here at RezDawgs and beyond….  She and her two puppies were dumped at the end of a driveway in rural New Mexico - emaciated, infected with tapeworms and suffering from a painful, itchy skin condition. Hilda was lucky enough to catch a ride on one of our transports to Colorado and has been in the loving care of one of our dedicated foster families since March 1st.  Hilda’s transformation has been amazing! She has gained 18 pounds and is now at a healthy weight of 63 pounds. Her tapeworms are gone and with the help of medication (Apoquel), her skin condition has healed up nicely. We are not certain yet whether she will require medication long term.   Hilda is a very sweet, mild mannered/mellow, happy dog who tends to be a little timid initially. However, once you gain her trust, she is very affectionate and loyal. Hilda loves her people and will gladly follow them from room to room just to be close.  Now that she’s medically rehabilitated, Hilda is ready to meet her forever family! She is house and crate trained, walks well on a leash, is very smart and learns quickly. Hilda gets along well with dogs and cats with proper introductions. Like many rescue dogs, she would benefit from some training to address her prey drive and manners when meeting other dogs on leash.  The ideal home for Hilda would have a yard with a 6’ fence (this athletic girl can jump!). While she is friendly with children, her size and enthusiasm mean that she would do best in a home with no small children. An active owner who will be able to include Hilda in their outdoor adventures would be wonderful!   Interested in discussing a meet-and-greet? Please apply to adopt today!
