Meet Holt! Holt is around a year old (as of March 2020) and weighs around 30 pounds. Holt is a handsome Shepard mix looking for his forever home. Before coming to the north, Holt was a resident of the Olive Branch Animal Shelter and, at the time, was not a good candidate for adoption. Holt had been found on the streets and when animal control took him in they used a pole to catch him and we think this caused some issues. Holt would come out of his kennel and greet everyone by jumping upright against them in typical doggie style, but when anyone would try to pet him, he would panic and duck and let out a faint growl and issue a warning snap. He would then go back to playing and jumping up against people and this managed to chase potential adopters away. Charlie’s Crusaders was able to find him an experienced foster where he stayed for over 3 months and become a happy, affectionate, attentive boy. Holt is now being fostered in NJ and he is still skittish over having a collar, leash or harness put on him and he will need some time before he feels safe. Holt also doesn’t like people getting near him when he has food and because of this, a home without small children would be advisable. Holt is a good boy that needs a high energy home with a big back yard and a family to call his own. Holt has not been dog or cat tested. Holt is up to date on his shots, neutered and ready for his forever home! To apply to adopt Holt, please go to charliescrusaders.org! show less
