Cooper is approximately 11 months old, neutered German Shepherd who recently made his way to Canada from Iran. His kind-hearted foster home answered a plea for a dog in need from a country where dogs are often treated unkindly.  Although Cooper suffered no abuse, his rescuer in Iran wanted Cooper to find a home in Canada where such a highly intelligent and trainable dog could live a life suitable to his abilities.

Although Cooper presently is a goofy, curious puppy, he is also German Shepherd through and through. We are looking for a German Shepherd or herding dog  experienced home that is looking for a dog who is with highly intelligent, extremely trainable and wants to work with Cooper on further training or for a job that engages his keen mind. Cooper will not be released to a home looking for a guard dog or yard dog.

In the short time Cooper has been in Canada he has trained with one of BC's most notable trainers learning focus, sit, lie down, stay, targeting and recall. Since being in his foster home he has further his heel to walk well on a leash even with stimulus.  He is also practising off leash recall with good results.

Cooper has been fully vetted, including neuter, vaccinations, kennel cough, tested for parasites and heart worm, flea and tick prevention, and full hip x rays.  He is completely healthy but thin. We are working gradually to increase his weight which currently is 26 kilos. His has had a complementary grooming with the fantastic folks at Good Dog Ranch and Spa.

Cooper has never been in a house until recently so everything is new. Although he does calm down and lie down, initial moments in a  home are  sometimes overstimulating. Although when Cooper first arrived he was scared of things like household appliances but has since adapted to the western home.  However, he has some decided interest in food left on counters. Cooper responds well to the "leave it" command.

Cooper is great with kids, even kids met unexpectedly, he seems fine with every person he meets as soon as they approach with friendliness. However he is a German Shepherd, so caution on approach is always necessary.

Cooper has lived with dogs in both his trainer's and foster's home. he does well with mellow or relaxed companions but would not be a good fit with a dominant male. He has also been in kennel environments with a variety of dogs with no problems. In particular, Cooper has imprinted the good behaviours and calmness of his foster's collies and would flourish with a companion dog of gentle disposition.

Cooper is still working on house training with good results but would need further guidance and expectation for possible accidents in any new home until he adjusted.
Cooper bonds hard and fast with his family.  He is extraordinarily attached, loving and enthusiastic about his people. If left alone without a dog companion, he would probably show separation anxiety that would include some barking and destructive behaviour.

Cooper is terrified of a crate after spending 30 hours in a crate in transit from Iran.  He would be better suited to staying in a dog run while the new family is not home, preferably with a companion. He is not suited for long hours left alone or as a yard dog.

Potential homes will need to fill out an adoption contract, prepare to be interviewed and pay a $500 adoption fee to cover some costs of his transport and veterinary care.

Hi, my name is Adair. I am a little 4 month old, female kitty of not even 3-1/2 lbs yet. My rescuers mom found me and my 2 siblings. We were discovered in a bag in the trash here in the Middle East. Can you believe someone would so cold heartedly toss us away to die like that? My brother Archie is also listed on LAL's site. I am a very kind, but shy kitty. I am good with dogs and other kitties.   I am not yet neutered, as I am too young, but I am vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $150.00, which includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Every cat is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a cat is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our cats. Are you the person who is looking for a small, people-loving dog who is neither super high-energy, nor a couch potato type? Great, because that's exactly who I am.  My name is Adam. I'm a 2 year old Jindo/Corgi mix of 18lb and just 12 inches tall. I live in Korea - but not for much longer, if you get my drift.... I won't bore you with too many details of my past, because, after all, that's behind me now. All you need to know is that my previous owners moved away and left me tied up in an empty house. Now I am safe and living in a boarding facility while I wait for you to adopt me.   Let me tell you what I love most in all the world. People!  Yeah, big ones, small ones, old ones and young ones; I love 'em all!  When it comes to dogs, to tell you the truth, I'm kind of indifferent. I get along with dogs, but I don't have much interest in playing with them.  I feel the same way about cats, so if my future home has one, that's O.K.     Really, what matters is that I have people in my life. I want to be your canine companion, your little sidekick and maybe even your lap-warmer. If you like going for walks with a jaunty dog by your side, then count me in; I'm very good on leash.  We can go visit your friends, who will quickly become my friends too, and we can even go for coffee if you know any cool dog-friendly spots in the neighbourhood.   As long as I'm with you, I'll be happy. And I plan to make you happy too.    I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. This is the application that you should use if you are looking to apply to foster a dog AND ARE NOT planning to adopt.  Foster homes are one of the most important parts of any dog rescue. Without these homes, we wouldn't be able to rescue as many dogs as we do.  If you are looking to make a difference in a dogs life for a short period of time, please apply now.  What is fostering? Fostering is agreeing to take a dog into your home, temporarily, while the rescue is receiving and reviewing applications for adoption.   What does it cost? As a foster home, we can provide you with food, collar, leash. We will also cover any vet bills, but please speak to your foster coordinator before taking the dog to the vet unless its an emergency What if I can only foster a small dog? We will work with the limitations of our foster homes. If you are asked to foster a dog that is too big, please just let us know and we will look for another home.  What if I only want to foster a puppy? Puppies are usually very easy to adopt and often don't need fostering. Please consider an older dog that could be even more fun! What if I want to adopt? If your intent is to adopt a dog, you will need to submit an adoption application for review.  I only want to foster a specific dog. If you want a specific dog and only that dog, we recommend that you apply to adopt. International dogs are not normally available for fostering as we try to only bring them here if an approved adopter has been found. We really need more foster homes and appreciate you reading this posting. I hope that you consider opening your heart and your home to help a dog in need. The love and care that you can provide for even a short period, will make a huge difference in the life of a dog. I am Alexi. If you're in the Seattle / greater Seattle area, please keep reading! If you have a big heart and love cuddles, I could be the one for you!  I am a cute terrier mix and maybe Berger Picard (around 10kg and 3.5 years old) and if you take a look into my deep brown eyes and my large muppet ears, you might quickly fall in love. We are looking to keep me in the Seattle / North Seattle area, as I'm really bonded to my foster Mom, and would need a somewhat slow transition. Also, you could think of adopting me as possibly a part time share, my foster Mom would like to stay in my life, help out and dog sit, if that would be okay with you. Feel free to reach out for more information if you're truly interested, and you can chat with my current Mama. You can contact us through this rescue group or even send my foster Mom a message on my Instagram account - info below. I was found by some kind people in an abandoned building, paralyzed in all four of my limbs. - Trust me, I'm a survivor!  The good news - I am now in a loving foster home, just North of Seattle, and have had an MRI. My c5-c6 is injured, which has caused paralysis in my four limbs. My foster mama has done a tremendous amount of work with me to make me stronger.  At this point I can not sit, stand or walk by myself and my bladder gets expressed about 4 times a day. I don't wear diapers, and I have a normal 2x daily bowel movement. I'm one of the few paralyzed dogs that doesn't need to wear diapers! Since the time I've been in foster care, my whole body has become stronger. Six months after I arrived here, my back legs started to "wake up," it was amazing! I now go on daily walks / tows in my cart (see my videos, or check out my IG account). Once my cart starts to get pulled in a forward motion, my rear legs follow. Currently I walk 1/4-1/2 a mile daily, sometimes more! I can't steer very well, because of my injury I tend to go left quite often. I move my front shoulders, but my front paws haven't woke up yet, but they are getting stronger. My days consist of cart walks, park visits, exercises, cuddles and snoozing. Once I get my walk, I'm usually ready for cuddles and a nap. I LOVE to take naps with my human.  You may follow along my adventures here, which I now share with my foster sibling who was also rescued from this organization: https://www.instagram.com/rescuedgypsy/ People have started a go fund me page.  http://www.gofundme.com/help-alexi   I also now have an Amazon.com wish list of my very own! https://amzn.to/2I3kT9v   I always so excited to go outside, and enjoy the fresh air! Sometimes that is in my cart, or my special backpack. Every time my human comes to give me love I do the wiggles and sometimes I sing to her. I know it will take a special person to give me a forever home, but I believe this world is full of special people. I already found one of them and she's my foster mom. If dreams come true, my next special person is reading this right now and lives close to my foster family! I'd love a family who has a nice doggy friend for me, and someone who is home often. I like to be around my humans, in the same room, and outside on adventures. My forever human should be physically fit and will continue my care. If you live near me, my current Mama will go through my routines with you, including my favorite places to visit.  I live with two cats, sometimes I'm not bothered by them, but sometimes I growl and bark (can you blame me, I am part terrier). I've met some children and do great sometimes. A few times I've barked and growled. But I've walked through a crowd of children, and I did great. I do think I'd prefer a home without small children, and any older children need to be kind, gentle and patient. Once I know you, and you sit and give me treats for a couple of minutes I earn your trust. When I'm out on my walks in my cart, I very rarely bark, though I will do a high pitch happy bark when I see a dog that peeks my interest! I would thrive to be in a home with another gentle and playful dog. Having another loving dog around really has helped my motivation and my happiness. I am also not neutered and for now need to stay that way. I need my hormones to help me get stronger.  I know it will take a special person to give me a forever home, but I believe you are out there somewhere and when we find each other both our lives will grow bigger with love. Check out some of my videos! https://youtu.be/b7q11RBf34w https://youtu.be/fyHxK46lYus https://youtu.be/BTeiM69_0Mc https://youtu.be/Tk-eEaSbTSo https://youtu.be/hFDEZ-8785Q https://youtu.be/EKcn71KzIBU https://youtu.be/sLwFCahPLWw https://youtu.be/H97s9_hU6RM I have been vaccinated and micro chipped. I am thrilled to have my chance to say hello and hopefully persuade you that I am the dog you've been looking for. My name is Allie. I am a gentle 3 year old White Shepherd mix from Korea with a relatively small build at 49lb and 23 inches tall. Not long ago I was wandering the streets looking for my next meal when I was picked up by the city workers and taken to the pound. That place is terrifying. There are too many dogs for the space so euthanasia is a frequent occurence, regardless how nice the dogs are. I was one of the lucky ones because some rescue workers saved me just in time, and now I am in a foster home waiting for you to find me. So let me explain why I believe I am the dog for you.  First of all, you want a dog who is friendly with everyone, right? Well, that's me to a tee. I like all the humans I have met and I will happily play with dogs of all sizes and shapes.  If the dog is small I am gentle and respectful. If it's big and energetic, I will play with enthusiasm.  Secondly, I think you may have a cat - am I right? (Sometimes I have a feeling about these things. And sometimes I'm wrong!) Either way, you should know that when I meet a cat I wag my tail in greeting and then just walk away. Living with one of those creatures would be a no-brainer. Third, everybody likes to take dogs for walks, don't they? And boy, do I love going for walks. Long walks, short walks, lots of walks - I will be by your side for all of them.  And my final reason why you should adopt me:  nobody wants a whiner. I won't cry or make a scene if you want to go out and do your thing for a while. I won't be wracked with anxiety and start destroying your cushions. None of that separation anxiety for this girl. I know you're going to return and when you do I will give you the very best welcome you could ever imagine.  In fact, I will greet you with such enthusiasm that you will wonder how you ever came back to a home without me in it.   (The name they call me in Korea is Apollo) I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $500 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. The only nuttiness I have right now, is going nutty wanting to get out of here. I am Almond, a 3 year old female, Vizla & Shepard mix. I weigh in at 60 lbs and stand 31-1/2 inches tall on my elegant looking legs. I am a sociable girl. https://youtu.be/vsHjsdrL2mw My rescuers found me at the side of the road in the Middle East with an injured leg when I was about 1 year old. See my video of me being found - https://youtu.be/rg1j9Z4W1WU. They took me to the vet clinic, but my leg was too badly damaged and had atrophied. The doctors determined it best to amputate.  I am super nice with dogs, people and kids too (photos in the works.) I am unfamiliar with those critters called cats, however. My best friend Gray got adopted recently and I miss him. I really want freedom from being behind a fence for 2 years, just like he has attained. https://youtu.be/ZHwZV6PAIxw Anytime I am taken out on a walk, I love it. You can see by my main video, being a tripaw doesn't slow me down a bit. I like to roll on the grass and run like a champion horse.  A sweet girl like me needs to be with a family. Please, I am begging for my freedom. Tell me you are the one for me. A moderate activity home would be super. Preferably one with another dog to pal around with as my new buddy.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $450.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.    Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. All I wanna hear from my rescuers is you are anya way to Canada. Get it... Anya is my name. I am a 2 year old female, Boxer and Lab mix at best guess. My weight is 38 lbs and I am about 19-1/2 inches tall. I am a very playful girl with a wonderful personality. My story occurs in the Middle East when I was 8 months old. I was found searching through trash bins for food on a heavily trafficked street. A good samaritan spotted me. As she approached me, I was spooked and tried to run away, so it took a while for me to trust her. She brought me to safety and to a vet for an exam and vaccinations. Now I live in a boarding facility. I absolutely ADORE humans and love to give kisses and hugs. I am a tremendous people pleaser. In fact, I am pretty easy to please myself. Love me up and let me play, I'm happy. I love interacting and playing with other dogs too. I have not been exposed to cats yet though, (but children are great fun.) My energy level is pretty high, so an active home would be best. (Maybe with a house full of kids.) I would love other dogs to play with, but would also do well as the only dog in the family. I am just a real social butterfly. Playing, running around, loving up everyone in sight is my dream life. Will you be the one who makes that dream come true?   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. My name is Apollo and I am a happy dog, about one year old.   Born here in Bahrain, I look like a Shepherd/Saluki mix and I am about 27” tall and weigh 55 lbs. I was originally found out in the hot desert when I was two weeks old. A kind family took me home and when I was two months old they brought me to the shelter. Here I get to play with lots of other dogs who are waiting for forever homes too! I’m very laid back and just love to chill out and get belly rubs and cuddles from people, though I also love going for walks and am very good on leash. Check out my video to see how much fun I can have with water. If you live near a lake or beach I bet you and I would have a great time splashing around together.   Playful and easy going are the way the shelter staff describe me. Surely that is the kind of dog you've been looking for, isn't it? I’m looking for a loving home where I can revel in the human attention I adore.  You will get plenty of love coming your way if you bring me home and I'm told that if you apply soon there's a chance I could be flying your way in September.  Woo-hoo, that's just round the corner. Sniff sniff, sniff sniff... Mmmm, it's Bacoooon. Guess what's cooking baby - me, Bacon. I'm a sizzling hot pup looking for a home. A couple months shy of 1-1/2 year old, I am a male mixture of possibly German Shepard. & Beauceron. My weight is about 77 lbs and I stand about 27-1/2 inches tall. I warm up quickly to loving kindness, so I bet we'd go together like, well bacon & eggs. I was found on the streets of a city in the Middle East. If my kind saviour had not come along when they did, I would not be alive to tell my story today. Somebody who does not deserve to be called human, was trying to hang me. It is hard to even think about it. I have to admit that my experience at the hands of that monster has left me a little fearful of strangers upon first meeting them. But, like most dogs, I am eager for human affection and if you show friendliness towards me, it usually doesn't take me too long to come around. I long to have human companionship, so we can build our love and trust in one another and become best friends forever. Right now, I am living in a shelter where I get to enjoy playing with lots of other dogs. But the best thing in the world would be to have a home of my own, where I could feel loved and safe. Somewhere I could finally discover the joy of bonding. If your heart has room for me, I'm sure we could squeeze together on the couch for snuggles. Hey, maybe I should be called sausage, then we could be pigs in a blanket together. Getting hungry for me, making these food references? A moderately active, but mellow home would be best for me. I have not had any chance to be around kids or cats. I need a home that will have patience to allow me the time to come out of my shell and adjust to all the wonders of a new world. A young pup like me has so much to learn and so much to give. All I need is the right person. A chef to add the right spice to our relationship?   I am neutered, *vaccinated and microchipped. Hello.  They call me Banana.  Don't ask me why a scruffy, but cute little terrier mix from Shanghai is named Banana, but I really don't mind as long as it catches your attention.  I am only 8 months old, 17lb and 15 inches tall - just the right size to hop in a crate and fly to Canada to be with you! My mom was a stray who was picked up and brought to the shelter when she was already pregnant. So I was born here!  Maybe that's why it feels kind of like home, even though I have a feeling my real home is waiting for me out there.   There are plenty of other dogs here so I'm never short of playmates, but I could sure do with a little more time being scratched and cuddled by the humans.  The trouble is there aren't enough of them to go round because we all want their attention. Do you think I might be able to have a little more of that if I come to live with you? That would make me happy. Since I haven't met cats or children I have no idea if I would like them or not. All I know is that I have my whole life ahead of me and I want to spend it in a real home with my own people.  Please help me make my dream come true.   I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $600 includes my airfare to Canada. My name is Barish. I look like an Alopekis, a small Greek breed. At 2-1/2 years old, I weigh about 17-1/2 lbs. I really prefer men, but love all people.   I was rescued in the Middle East during the Persian New Year festival last year, where I had been burned. You can see in my photo where my fur is missing. I can get a bit spooked, but I am very friendly.   My breed is generally sociable and athletic. In fact, we are quite amiable and intelligent. Usually quite easily trainable too. We are not usually much for barking, but have a strong one when we do.   I get along with other dogs, but I am not all that social with them. I more just ignore them. I haven't been around children or cats though.   I would like a low to moderate activity home. One that can help me overcome my fear and live life to its fullest. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Hi all!  Bean here!  Bean as in ‘Jelly-bean’.  I’m small and sweet and tons of fun!  Thanks for stopping by to learn more about me.  I am a 5 month old male Jindo pup and am full of life.  I am a perfect 20 pounds light and 15 inches tall.  The perfect size for cuddling.    I’m enjoying getting to know the world around me in my new rescue shelter.  I like to play and am good at finding treats that are hidden for me.  It’s true that I don’t have much of an appetite yet but I’m healthy and happy and ready to get to know my forever family.  My rescuer found me in a forested area with my mom and five siblings.  Mom had lost her leg and was trying to fend for us when we met the person who decided we needed to be taken somewhere safe.  Because the start of my life was a difficult one, I’m still a little shy around people but once I get to know someone I am their new best friend!  I am good with all people although I’m slightly more comfortable around women than men.  I love to play with small dogs like me and haven’t spent time around bigger dogs or cats so really don’t know much about them.  I think that with your help I could learn to be happy with either. I’m currently trained to use bathroom pads in the house and so am confident that I can easily make the transition to bathrooming only outside!  And while I like walks, they’re still kind of an unfamiliar thing for me so I’ll need a little time getting used to them.  For now, I’m good to just stay near you on leash while I get more familiar with the big world outside. Thanks so much for taking time to learn more about me!  I’m hopeful that you’ll see how great we could be together and will hit the “Adopt” button right below my picture.  Can’t wait to meet you!   I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  My adoption fee of $600 includes my airfare to Canada.  My Korean name is Il-Lang.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.    Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Hey folks, I know there are a lot of dogs to choose from here, but please, give me a chance to win you over. First things first: I go by the name of Bee (BeiBei is the name they use here in Shanghai). I am a 4 year old female terrier mix of 25lb and 21 inches tall and I live in a very large dog shelter. I was found last summer right after a car had run over my front leg and crushed part of it.  At the time I was homeless and so it was lucky for me that a volunteer from the shelter was contacted and took me to the vet for treatment. They did some surgical intervention to clean it all up and fix what they could, but the nerve damage could not be repaired so I don't use the leg, but I also don't feel any pain. You would be surprised how fast I can move on my other 3 legs; in fact I am so quick and agile that I managed  to escape from the shelter once and had all the staff running after me.  That was a hoot! The thing is, I am not all that happy living here.  There are dogs everywhere!  You know that feeling you get when other people are constantly in your space,  stepping on your toes, talking too loudly on their phones, etc ? Well, that's what it's like here. Too many dogs, too much noise, not enough 'me' time.   I guess I am the kind of dog who would prefer to have some quality time with my special person.  I don't need all these other canines around, I just want a real home with a loving human who has time to give me a little attention.  It's not so much to ask is it?  In return I would give you everthing I have.  O.K, I know I don't actually have anything, but what I mean is that I would be your loyal, devoted and extremely grateful companion. We could take walks together, watch t.v, nap in the sunlight or in front of the fire.  Life would be grand. Picture it now - just you and me and a lovely, calm life together.  Please, please make it come true.   I am spayed, vaccinated and mircrochipped and my adoption fee of $500 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. Hi, it's me, a playful and perky poodle from Shanghai. I go by the name of BenBen, but I really don't mind what you call me just as long as you call me yours. I am around one year old, weigh 15lb and measure 14 inches to my shoulders. I'm a fairly recent arrival to the Shanghai shelter, having been picked up as part of the routine round up of stray dogs that the authorities regularly undertake. If we don't have any I.D, and most of us don't, then we are sent to the shelter where it can take forever to find a home. For some of my friends here it may never happen. But I have a feeling I will be one of the lucky ones and get out of here soon. I think one of you lovely people will find it hard to resist my happy-go-lucky nature and puppy playfulness. I know my curly coat has a couple of bald patches on it but I hope you'll overlook that. I try not to dwell on it myself, but somebody poured boiling water on me, so the skin there is scarred and we don't know if my fur will grow back. It's just on my side and leg though, so I like to think it doesn't detract from my good looks.  Anyway, I want you to love me for what's inside, just the way I'm going to love you. If I am very lucky I will find a home where I can spend lots of time playing and getting cuddles. I'd enjoy sharing a home with another dog, or just going for doggy play dates sometimes.  And I think I'd like to be part of a family so there are even more people to love. If there is only one of you, don't worry, we'll just have double the amount of loving to share with each other. I don't have any baggage so it won't take me any time to pack. I can be with you as soon as you say the words. Go on, say it.... say " I want to adopt  BenBen".   I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. A 9 month old beauty, I am Blizzard. I am a female Husky weighing 48-1/2 lbs, while standing approximately 20 inches tall. Quite the playful girl, am I. I was found on the streets in the Middle East. Rescuers brought me to the shelter, where I await my super special Canadian home. It is getting into the hot season here, very hard on a dog like me. I am friendly with people and other dogs. I am highly energetic, which if anyone knows about Huskies, knows this to be true of the breed. Also, that we are very, very smart.  I will need an active family, who likes to get out and do things. This will help me burn off energy and stimulate my mind. I am fine if you have another doggie in the home. Hey, a playmate to help keep me occupied. I have never seen a cat nor been around children though.  The rescuers has had trouble getting me to hold still for pictures. Stand still? Hahaa, I just want to do things. Please bring me to Canada, where we can start our amazing life together. Bluebell, the perfect name. Spring is in the air, hope abounds for a renewal of life for me. I am a female, Spanish Greyhound and German Shepard mix of 3 years old, weighing 55 lbs and a height of 34 inches. My rescuer says that I’m a very mellow dog, calm and quiet. Where I live in the Middle East, I got into a tussle with a street dog who scared me so much, that I ran into traffic and was hit by a car. Injured badly, a wonderful lady picked me up and brought me to a vet right away. I had surgery on one of my front legs. The other front leg had no feeling. The surgeon decided it was best to amputate that leg in order to prevent future problems with it. Thanks to being in a caring foster home, I’ve learned to trust. I still have some work to go in that regard. Like, I am still a bit afraid of strange people in the street and will bark at them, but as soon as you tell me "no", I stop. My foster has a number of dogs to care for, so it is hard for her to devote the time to fully help me on that. I know my forever home will be able to help me through that hump though. I can have a tad of a stubborn streak sometimes. They say that is a trait of us smart dogs. Here's some exciting news! I am house trained and never have accidents at home. I’ll let you know if I need to go outside by indicating my need at the door with a moan or tremble. Although, when I get excited about seeing people I love, in my enthusiasm, it is possible I may piddle just a bit. I can be alone at home without issues, no chewing or barking, etc... More good news, I am good with both big & small dogs, cats and kids too. https://youtu.be/p7CwzsupAH0, https://youtu.be/pKLh1rwBfNs, https://youtu.be/X-QF3Ge4G2k. In fact, I’ve been fostered with a cat before and showed no interest too. That’s the best way to be with cats, because the other dogs tell me if you bug them, they might hit you with a claw to the nose! I have chased them outdoors, but never hurt one. I may only have 3 legs, but still move around pretty well. So a moderate level activity home would be good. I enjoy being out and can run and go up and down on the hills even. Though much of the time, you will just see me lounging around otherwise. Some vids of me:  https://youtu.be/9oRSN_u0xNo https://youtu.be/3-YAs_7Vq0Y https://youtu.be/yaDSQEB1J4c   I have been spayed, vaccinated & micro-chipped. I love you already! We haven't even met yet and I can promise you I will be smiling from ear to ear the minute I see you, because that is just the kind of dog I am.  My name is Bonnie and I am a female pittie of around 5 years old, 19 inches tall and 67lb.  My weight is something that I am working on right now; I have been told I need to lose a few pounds. Maybe you and I can help each other with that? Right now I am in a boarding facility in California while I wait for you to adopt me. I was found as a stray outside a local school and taken in by a Good Samaritan. For a while I was living with this lovely lady and the two of us grew quite fond of each other. Sadly, she lost her job and could no longer keep me. But I have to say that I really enjoyed living in such a quiet home where I could just be my mellow self.   As you can probably tell from my photo's, I am quite food motivated. I do have little bursts of energy, but I also just love lying in the sun and going for car rides. The volunteers here are starting to get me out for more regular walks, so that's helping build my endurace, and hopefully will reduce my waistline.  For the past couple of weeks I have spent some time with the trainer here and he wants you to know that, although I don't like cats, I get along with all his other dogs as long as I am given the proper introduction.. That reflects my relaxed and forgiving nature because the scars on my face suggest I may have been used as a bait dog in the past.  Although I would delight in being an only pet, I could share a home with another calm dog once we have been politely introduced to one another. Basically, I am all about living a peaceful life, so let me ponder for a moment, the life that you and I will share together. The lazy Sunday mornings while you read the paper and sip your coffe and I recline in a shaft of sunlight at your feet. The strolls around the neighbourhood where everyone knows our names. The friends that come over for dinner and bring me cookies and chewy treats. Ahh, life will be so good! So really, what is there to think about ? I just know that we could make each other's lives that much better if we were together, so please apply to adopt me and let's begin our shared future.    I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee is $450 CAD . Boy oh boy, would I love to come to Canada. I'm Boyka, a male 8 month old German Shepard (mix?), though I look like a full GSD. Probably due to malnourishment when young, my ears have not stood upright. I am a very adaptable youngster. I weigh 44 lbs and stand just a tad over 21-1/2 inches tall. My rescuer just recently found me having been shot in my face several times. I was taken to the vet where they had to remove my left eye which was damaged too badly to save. My right eye was damaged too. They have me on some meds and will know soon whether I will have proper vision in that eye. You can see my before and after surgery photos. Though I am still healing at the moment, I love to chew on my toys and on bones. I do tend to guard them from my rescuers male dog, but not in a mean way. I get along with dogs fine and kids too ( In my video, the little tyke is a bit afraid, probably because I am actively playing, but I am cool with him being there.) I have never been around a cat though. I am extremely smart, as any GSD should be. Before my surgery and this crazy e-collar was put on so I can heal... I would joyfully play, and will once again when you want me to. But I can also just be chilled out and would love sleeping next to you when you want to relax. So you see, I can be both enthusiastically active or mellowly calm, depending on what you want.  My potty training is going great and my rescuer says I am very smart. I have allready learned sit and a few other basic commands. Shouldn't be any problem teaching me tricks. I love to learn. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy... don't you think it is time to submit an app... for me, Boyka?   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $600.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Hello, Bubbles here - introducing myself to you all the way from Shanghai. I am a female Jack Russel mix, about a year and a half old, and I weigh 15lb and am 12 inches tall. My dear little friend, Didi, was with me when the car we were in crashed.  Somehow the two of us managed to escape the wreckage and run for safety. We cowered together until we were found and brought to the Shanghai Animal Rescue centre. Luckily neither of us was injured, but boy, were we terrified. We both took great comfort in the presence of the other, that's for sure. Although they tried hard, the staff here could not locate our owners so we both have to find new  homes. At first they wanted to adopt us out together as a bonded pair, but of course that makes it even harder to find a home.  So now that we have been here longer it has been determined that we can each go to separate homes.  I think I can handle it now, and I believe that Didi will be O.K without me too.  I appear to be a dog of moderate energy, though really it's hard to tell in the shelter environment. Dogs of my make-up can be fairly energetic in the real world, so hopefully we can adapt to each other when we meet. I am a little shy right now, but I'm sure I will gain confidence and my spirits will lift when I am once again in a real home with my own people.  There are lots of dogs here and I am fine with them so I would be O.K sharing my future home with another dog. Can't tell you about cats though. Really, this shelter life is not something I want to experience much longer. It's noisy and chaotic and I just don't have much human attention. That's something I really miss. Can you get me out of here please? I long to be part of a human family once again.   I am sterilized*, vaccinated** and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. * *Dogs from China are sterilized rather than spayed or neutered. You see that sleek handsome black dog in the pictures, that is me, Buccaneer (Middle East name: Blackie). Pleasure to meet you. As a young male dog of 1 and a half year old. I am a fairly big boy about 33 inches tall and I weigh 55 lbs now. I look to be a Black Lab. I am a smart and ready to find a family in Canada.  With that all said and done, I can let you in on my life story. Picture this, about a year and a half a ago in the midst of a cold, snowy winter somewhere in the Middle East, I was just a puppy abandoned in a box on the side of the street with 2 of my brothers. I was sick and our mother was nowhere in sight. Our doomed fate changed when our rescuer was visiting one of their clients at a concrete manufacturing plant. A warehouse keeper who had stumbled upon us showed us to them and after that the rest is history. They took us to the vet and while my brothers were healthy, I was diagnosed with Parvo Virus and was hospitalized.  When I was all healed and healthy I joined my brothers, where we have been living with our rescuer in their Villa. As grateful as I am for them, we agree it is about time I fly the coop and see the world for myself and find people who can give me the life I deserve. I am not much of an outside dog. I have had access to the outside all the time, so will need to be taught about letting you know when I have to go out. I have been going out for walks on a leash the past couple months. I have not gotten much exposure to these things until recently, so I am a bit timid outside of the home. Cars and strangers can be scary, but I just do not know any better. It would be nice to meet someone that can take the time and guide me through this scary world and show me that it is not so bad. As a young boy with a sharp wit and an eagerness to learn, I can pick up tricks and commands well. I know I can learn tons, so let us make it a hobby of ours! I am the kind of pup that really, really cares for their person. If I am the right one for you, I will be there for you though thick and thin. Because of this though, I would do best as a only dog. I can be a bit of a bully for attention. I have not met any cats in my day, so I do not know how I would act around them. Children are great and so are smaller dogs, but as I am a bit of a diva and like to keep the attention to myself. I guess I sound quirky, but if you stick with me like I promise, we can be the next dynamic duo! The ideal home for me would be of moderate, but mellow activity. One hopefully with a yard, as it would be nice to have a place where I can stretch my long, lanky legs. Living in a home with these creatures called “Children” would be fine with me, but I would thrive in a home as an only dog. I can be a bit dominating over bigger dogs, but I do not sweat the little dogs. My ideal family is one that can help me get over fears and just hold my paw to show me it is all right. I am here with an open heart that is made of gold, so let me show you how bright it will shine when you choose me to take home with you.   I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated & micro-chipped.   My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada. Hi! My name is Capt Jim (Jimmy) and I’m likely a Spitz and German Shepard mix from the Middle East. I’m a 3-1/2 year old boy and the shelter caregivers said that I am a very kind and lovely dog who is a bit timid and skittish. I weigh about 50 lbs and stand 27-1/2 inches tall.  I was found badly beaten up and run over by a car. It took time, but my rescuer rehabbed me. Now, I am fully physically recovered. I’m working very hard to overcome my fears, but it’s was tough to do that in the shelter. I’m not the bossy type. I’m more submissive and prefer to get along with everyone. I will not fight or push around other dogs. I love to be around children and am very kind to smaller dogs.  Now I’m with a loving foster home, so I will be able to learn trust again. Even though I was hurt when I was a puppy, all I want is someone to love me and treat me with kindness. As a puppy, I was very abused, so I become afraid when people talk loudly or shout. I need to feel safe with someone who will never become angry with me.  I enjoy walking on a leash and have learned some basic commands. Here is a vid of me with a buddy of mine: https://youtu.be/ceA0jx-RaEg.  They say that I’m pretty smart! I love learning new things. I would do best with a reward based training program, because sometimes my fear makes me pee a little bit inside to mark my territory. I do this because I am very insecure. I know this isn’t a good thing to do. Once I’m in my forever home and kindly shown where to go, I will not forget and will pee there instead. Just as I have done at the shelter. If you are the right person, you know that this is an easy thing to teach me.  My perfect home will be with kind and quiet people. Probably a medium activity level home would be about right. I’d do great with another dog and older kids. I’d love a big yard to play in and lots of cuddle time. I love walks and I sure would enjoy learning more commands. Do you think you can make me feel safe again? Will you be patient with me as I learn new things like playing and to trust? I know the right person will see this and take me home. Cute little me is at the end of this video: https://youtu.be/DZuKaydNH6M. My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. It's a great day to be a puppy! Oh, hey there, I was just musing about life - every day is full of fun when you are only 4 months old, don't you agree? My name is Carmel and I am a Shepherd/Labrador mix from Kuwait. My current weight is a little over 11lb and since my momma, Topaz, weighs 44lb I think I might end up a similar size.  I was rescued, along with mom and 4 of my siblings (all on this site too) just after we were born beneath a construction site office out in the desert oil fields. Luckily we were saved from the mass poisonings of stray dogs that are currently underway in this country.  Now we are all safe and living at a shelter until we find homes - hopefully with you, over there in Canada.  I hear it's a much better place for a dog where you live. Right now I am busy developing special skills like not tripping over my own paws and trying to catch the tip of my tail if I run in circles fast enough. It's exhausting stuff and I often have to take a little nap on top of one of my brothers. Before you know it we're all wrestling with each other and then, sure enough, it's nap time again. Boy oh boy, it's fun being me! By the way, I think you and I could have lots of fun together too. I would love to come and live with you and learn how to be a very good Canadian pup. Maybe one of us will even end up living in Washington State - that would be cool too.  I can't wait to get started on my next skill - bonding with my special person.    I am too young to be spayed, but I am vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $600 includes my airfare to Canada. Are you one of those people who loves the scruffy terrier types?  You are? That's fantastic, because that's exactly what I am, a 2 1/2 year old white Terrier mix boy from Korea, who goes by the name of Casey (or Klasse, here in Korea).  I'm a good size too; not too big and not too small at 29lb and 15 inches tall. What's more, I am a quiet and gentle boy.  The city workers found me wandering the streets in winter. I was relieved at first when I was taken to the pound because it was warm and dry and I was given food to eat. Sadly, the city pound quickly becomes overcrowded and I was put on the euthanasia list.  That's when the good people from a local rescue group stepped in and now I am in their safe hands until I am adopted. Just so you know, the vet here has been treating a spot of mange on one of my ears, but I am told it will be cleared up pretty soon and I'll be back to my usual handsome self before you know it. You probably wouldn't even notice it in my photo's, but I thought I should let you know I'm not perfect. I am the kind of dog who forms a strong bond to my caretaker, so I hope you are prepared for some adoration if you adopt me! It takes me a little time to feel comfortable with new people and new situations, so please understand if I am a little shy when we first meet.  Despite my initial nervousness I am very gentle with both people and dogs and I could easily share a home with another dog if you'd like me to. Although I am not a high energy dog, I really do enjoy being out in nature, smelling everything along the way and going for walks with my caretaker. I think I would like a quiet home as I am, by nature, a quiet dog too.  Maybe you and I are the kind of mellow types who would suit each other and be the trusted companion each other has been seeking.  Generally I like to take my time before making big decisions about my future, but in this case, I can tell...... you get me.  So, the answer is, yes please, I'd very much like to come home with you.    I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. Hello kind people. I have gone through so much, my rescuers are calling me Champion (Persian name Ghahraman.) I am a female Saluki and Shepard mix of just over 2 years old. My weight is currently 60 lbs and I stand nearly 28 inches high.. I am just a sweet, sweet girl. I was found outside of a major city in the Middle East. A rescue group were feeding stray dogs there. I came close to a lady feeding us, but because my jaw was broken I couldn’t eat anything. I wanted to, I was so hungry. This person saw I was in so much pain and looking for a kind touch to calm that pain.  My jaw was broken by a car accident for at least a couple of weeks. I couldn't eat that whole time and had lost a great deal of weight. My mouth was bleeding and was dislocated due to the broken jaw.https://youtu.be/Hv0QJe1po-g. The rescuers had to share my video to raise funds for the vet to start my treatment.  Look now though, I am fully healed and ready for a family of my own. Just look at my awesome recovery, see my main video. You can see I had to have a tube connected on my face for at least a couple months so my jaw could heal completely. The vet said there was an old injury on the jaw too, broken/crushed small pieces of bone in my jaw and an old infection. So they did a bone marrow transplant from my leg to the jaw for a faster recovery.  I had to eat soft food hand fed until fully recovered though. https://youtu.be/p8KZZLZv9IE. I also couldn't be with my doggie friends for a while, as I had to be careful with the jaw tubes that were installed, making me look like Robodog. https://youtu.be/upRP_sY2FbU. I am good with other dogs though. Here, they removed the tubes from my face.  https://youtu.be/V1fGFrb98AQ. I did't understand all of this, but I felt better being out of pain and having them put food into my tummy. I can finally eat on my own & was I hungry. But as hungry as I was, see how gentle I was eating food from the staff's hand https://youtu.be/3-xRFTeZntg. I am a bit timid yet, but with love and time, that will diminish. I am a girl who likes gentle snuggles. I am friendly and calm. I would like a moderate level activity home, because now that I am healed, I should regain my active again being such a young dog.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is 550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.    Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. We had to amputate the rest of his tail very short, and he was not able to walk with his back legs in the beginning. With lots of love and physiotherapy twice a day though, he began to get stronger and stronger! Now he walks and runs like any other dog! He is super affectionate towards people and just wants to snuggle. He is alright with other dogs, and gets along with most except for other confident males. He needs to be the big guy on campus ;) He will be great in a house with older children, and would prefer a home without cats. He has a funny little dance that he does when he gets excited, and really wants nothing more than to be with his people. He is a volunteer favorite! My name is Chilly Willy. Primarily because I am a pretty chill little guy. I am about 4 years old and weigh 12 lbs and stand almost 16 inches tall. I look to be a Maltese, possibly Shih Tzu mix. I need a home to go to when I come on Aug 28th. I was a neglected pup (see how I was https://youtu.be/diKbmgrEsMM), who was dropped off at the park by my owner. It has made me despressed.  Why did they not want to love  me and receive my love? See how stunned I am. https://youtu.be/r6Oo_-602Wk A quiet boy who longs for a home of my own, I am a big time lap dog. I tend to get attached quickly. I have been following the rescuer around and grumbling at other dogs to stay away so can get all the attention. I once had a kidney stone that took two surgeries to remove. Ugh. Now I am healthy and ready for my forever family to find me.  I prefer to be the only dog in the house, due to the strong connection I make with my people, but I get along great with other dogs. I am good with kitties too. A home that is moderate in activity would probably suit my character. Taking walks will be fun, but I am just as happy to be snuggling on your lap. I love my chew shoe toy:  https://youtu.be/Qpdy2oxhchw  https://youtu.be/TbLqvOse8aA  I am winging my way to you soon. Hello big wide world, it's little me here - Chloe, coming to you all the way from Shanghai.  I am one and half years of age, weigh a petite 17lb and am 12 inches tall. I am probably a Tibetan Spaniel mix, but there's no doubt I am a sweet and relaxed little dog. I was one of the many dogs rounded up off the streets and taken to the holding pens at the police station. From there the rescue groups come and take those of us they think are adoptable.  Speaking of adoptable, that most definitely applies to me. I'm the kind of dog who would easily fit into your life whether you have an apartment or a house. I'm a mellow girl who knows how to enjoy a snuggle and doesn't need a lot of exercise. For sure I would be happy to go for a stroll with you, but we don't have to go far and we certainly don't have to go fast. Life is all about stopping to smell the roses, don't you think?  I get along fine with other dogs, but would be just as happy being your one and only.  If I am lucky enough to become your dog I will spend every day showing you just how special you are to me. I think you're going to like it!   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. This is NOT a dog belonging to LALDR. This is a courtesy posting. For more information, please contact the rescue person listed below. Thank you. For more information on this dog, Email: Barbara at  co207321@gmail.com   Cooper is approximately 11 months old, neutered German Shepherd who recently made his way to Canada from Iran. This is NOT a dog belonging to LALDR. This is a courtesy posting. For more information, please contact the rescue person listed below. Thank you. Howdy doody!  That's a strange little English expression, especially since it's coming from a little dog from China (I have no idea where I learned it!). I am Corky, a one year old Spaniel/Spitz mix of 13lb and 11 inches tall. My rescuers found me wandering the streets in a very emaciated state when I was just 5 months old.  A young puppy like that faces a lot of danger out there so it was very lucky for me they came along when they did.  Since then I have been living in a shelter with plenty of other dogs to keep me entertained. That's a good thing because I am an active and playful guy  with a good amount of energy, although I can also be gentle around children, as you can see in my video. I have heard whispers around here that I could possibly be moving to Canada if someone there falls in love with my good looks and natural charm.  It it comes true I will be the happiest dog because, as much as I like other dogs, there is nothing better than being with people. I just adore people of all ages and would love to have my own human family to live with.  Don't get me wrong, I would be fine sharing you with another dog, though if you have a cat they may not like me so much because I enjoy chasing them for fun.   Honestly,  I would make the ideal family dog who could be ready and willing to join your little pack at a moments notice.  So please pick me.  I promise I will do my best to make you smile every day.    I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. Hi everyone…  I’m Cricket.  I’m a four year-old female Retriever/Jindo cross from Bali.   I weigh 37 pounds and stand 27 inches tall.  I’m really grateful that you’ve stopped to learn more about me.  I’m an extremely gentle, loving pup who has had a very difficult life.  My rescuers found me as a puppy abandoned in a trash can.  All I could do was make odd little sounds and so they decided to call me ‘Cricket’.  I was so happy to find a caring place to live and happily went home with my friends who seem to have opened their hearts to lots of unfortunate dogs here. Sadly, once in my new home I was attacked by a neighbour’s dog and almost died. I have a lot of scars from that attack – both emotional and physical. Since that horrible experience, I have become somewhat reclusive from other dogs.   I used to be extremely playful and social but now I tend to prefer to spend time with my people rather than with other dogs.  I admit that I sometimes pretend to be tough when other dogs come around and I growl at them to keep away,  but I don't ever attack them and I will even play with a few that I trust.   You only have to watch me being 'Silly Cricket' to realize I'm actually a bit of a softie. I really love going for a walk or run and playing chase with my people, even though sometimes my hips dislocate a bit. The vet says nothing can be done about that.  It’s a little uncomfortable at times but they always fix themselves and so I have learned to live with it.     The past few years I have been fortunate to live with the compassionate dog lovers who rescued me, but now they have to go back to Australia and can’t take me with them.  I worry what will become of me and I know they do too. We are all hopeful that you can see that I am a very loyal and gentle girl with lots of love to give. Please click on ‘Adopt’ below so that I can come and be your new best friend.    I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.  My adoption fee of $500 includes my airfare to Canada.        Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.    Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Good day. I am Damon and I am a 4 year old, possibly Shepard mix. I suppose there could be a bit of a sighthound breed in me too. Weighing in at almost 73 lbs and around 35 inches tall, I am a very kind and quite friendly dog.  When I was found, my rescuers said it seemed like I was begging for help. I came near to them, showed my leg and sat down. The gentle look in my eyes, told them to take me. My front leg was cut at the the wrist and was severely swollen. This was how they found me: https://youtu.be/ZYag0q778Pc, https://youtu.be/qkNNAYKklZc. The vet amputated it, as it was developing an infection. It was awful. When my rescuers questioned people about my paw, they were told somebody cut it off as punishment for eating his hens. This sadistic evil doer wanted to shoot me dead, but decided to do this instead to make me feel severe pain. So, now I live as a tripaw, but it hasn't affected my sweet disposition. I long for closeness and give only love in return. https://youtu.be/A3Zm6F6S0BY I like very much to play. You won't find me feeling sorry for myself, no siree. I want to run around and have fun now that my leg is not an issue.  I have never been around kitties, but I am great with people. I am good with other dogs & kids too. https://youtu.be/zvlxDwHK6qs. A good home would be one who wants to play games with me, while respecting my limitations. Moderate activity would be good. Not a requirement. But I am on board if you have another dog to be buddies with too. I hope you have rooming your heart and home for a super sweet, loving boy like me. Another vid, https://youtu.be/LFYZvVwH2PM I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.    My adoption fee is $450.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.   Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. IN DANGER! Greetings sweet people. I am Delroba, a 6 month old German Shepard and Anatolian mix. My current weight is about 33 lbs and I stand around 21 inches tall. I may likely grow to be about 55 lbs. I am a kind and happy girl. My Persian name means enchanting and captivating or literally "hijacker of the heart." Me and my 3 sisters (Marshmallow is also listed) were rescued when we were about 3 weeks old. We were found in a bag in the Middle Eastern desert. What a horrible way leaving us to die.  Thankfully, our rescuer found us. She bottle fed us and now we are healthy and looking for homes. Sadly, the neighbors poisoned one of my sisters and a couple other dogs. Now, it is just us two and we are in danger from these neighbors doing the same to us. We need out of here. I get along with other dogs. Cats and kids are not ones I have had the chance to be around yet though.  A moderate to active home would be best. Bet we could have fun hiking and such. If you had a yard, that would be preferable, but if you take me out daily for exercise, it should all be good. Want 2 dogs, get my sister too. Big smile. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. It's a Corgi! Yup, a 2 year old, female, Corgi mix, that's me - Desiree. I weigh in at just under 20 lbs and stand almost 16 inches tall. I am very friendly girl. I was rescued from a breeding mill. That was no life for a gal me.  I am a bit depressed and sad right now, but I know a home of my own would brighten my spirits.  I am good with children and other dogs. I should not be in a home with cats though. Yea, you desire me, don't you? You could spell my name Desiré w/ the little accent over the e at the end. Hope to be winging my way to you soon. Hi all, my name is Diesel. I am a loyal 2 year old male Great Pyrenees mix. I have lived my life on a farm, taking care of the livestock. But my owner became terminally ill and could no longer take care of himself, let alone me. I am now in the care of a foster home where I am living inside a house for the first time in my life.  I take some time to trust new people; in fact it took a couple of days of her constant presence before I could trust my foster mom, but now I am very affectionate and loving toward her and I want nothing more than to be around her in the house. She has several other dogs too and I really enjoy sharing the home with them. We all love to play outside and, although I am a big guy, I know how to be respectful within the pack. When new people approach me, I tend to lunge and bark at them in an aggressive manner. I know this is not right and my foster mom has introduced me to a professional dog trainer who is working with me to fix this.  They feel that I can overcome this behaviour and be ready for a forever home once the training is complete. On the plus side, I am house-trained, I know how to walk on a leash, I am smart and eager to learn. In my ideal world I would find a loving home with acreage and other dogs to share it with me. In my previous home I was fine with the cats but have been chasing them when I go to other homes. It is thought this chasing behaviour is a frustated attempt at herding them. Clearly I never got the memo that herding cats is an impossibility. Because I am very smart and eager to please I can almost certainly be taught to leave the cats alone. I know I am a lot of dog, but believe me, I have soooooo much potential. Once I've worked out the kinks, I will be a truly loving, loyal companion. I am vaccinated, dewormed, neutered and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $500. Please review our adoption guidelines at http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca Disclaimer: In order to protect both dogs and children, the Board of Directors has decided that unless a representative of LALDR has personally met the dog or has been satisified by the international rescue of the dogs' ability to live with children, we will not approve a family for adoption. Specifically, we will not approve an adoption to a family with children age 8 or younger. We are hesitant to approve an adoption to a family with children under the age of 12 but will treat each application individually. show less

Hi everyone.  I am a recent arrival to the Shanghai shelter and I am feeling quite shy at the moment and all I want is to be cuddled. My name is Dixie and I am a small female poodle mix, approximately one year of age and about 12lb in weight. Like many of the dogs here, I was rounded up by the authorities who pick up any dogs found on the streets and take them to the police station. Then the people who work at Shanghai Animal Rescue come to take those of us who they think might be adopted. (I hate to think what happens to the others.) Since arriving here I have been constantly surrounded by other dogs and it’s all very overwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, I like dogs in general, but there are just too many here and it gets so noisy. What I would like more than anything in the world is to find a home of my own where I can feel safe and loved and start to show my fun, playful side. Can you come back a little later to check in with me when I hope to have a video to show you and a few more photo's. If I'm really, really lucky, maybe one of you will decided you don't need to wait and will apply to adopt me right away.  Oh, if only I had fingers I would have them all crossed!   I am spayed, vaccinated* and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. *Dogs from Shanghai are vaccinated for rabies, distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis and parainfluenza.
