About Harley

Meet Harley! He and his sister, Quinn, were abandoned at a veterinarian's office in Arkansas. This handsome fella is super sweet, and just a little bit nutty. Harley must have had a rough start to life because he is super anxious around new people, so not many people have gotten to see how awesome he is. Because of this, a first time meet and greet will not show his loving personality. Because he isn’t comfortable with new people, a house with young children or frequent visitors probably isn’t the best fit for him.

Once Harley does let you into his circle he will climb into your lap for some loving. He has a very stoic face and doesn’t give kisses, but he loves attention and isn’t shy about asking for some. When he looks at you with his chocolatey eyes, your heart will melt. He is very intelligent, but not always the best listener. His foster parents are working on that. He loves romping with his foster brother, so a home with another dog might make him feel more comfortable. He is in a house with cats and is quite curious about them. He does try to run over to them to say “hi,” but doesn’t do anything to hurt them. Harley likes to entertain himself by tossing his toys in the air and then pouncing on them. It’s quite entertaining for his foster parents as well.

When it’s time for him to go to his crate he will go right in and sit down (for a treat of course). Because we don’t know his history, we don’t know his exact age. He is estimated to be about 15 months old (as of 11/21/19). He is between 60 and 65lbs and is fully grown, neutered and up to date on shots. Harley is a total sweetheart, and just needs someone willing to give him a little extra time to get used to them. He’s totally worth the wait!

Meet Armstrong!  Armstrong is a 3 years old, 60lbs male Terrier mix.   Armstrong was brought to a high kill shelter after his owner no longer wanted him and demanded that the shelter take him or he would be shot. His surrender paperwork stated that his owner said he never even gave him a name. Since being taken into rescue, Armstrong has fallen in love with foster life. He is being shown affection, is allowed to cuddle on the couch with his foster and sleep in her bed. He is finally being shown what life as a family member feels like and his foster's wish is that he would be lucky enough to find a family willing to dote on him to make up for the lack of love he has been shown. His foster is moving to another state and we must find a PA area foster or adopter for him so he doesn't end up in boarding. Armstrong is good with kids, but prefers to be an only dog after having experienced no affection, he is not willing to share his family with any other pets. He can walk on the street past other animals with no issue, but does not prefer for any other pets to live in his home. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered and has recently completed heartworm treatment and has a clean bill of health. He deserves a loving family that will give him a future filled with hope and happiness. To apply --> show less

Meet Campbell! Campbell is a sweet boy around 3 years old with similarities to a Pit and Lab mix. Campbell is around 60 pounds of love and kisses. Campbell was rescued from a high kill shelter in Memphis, TN in late 2019 and then spent 6 weeks in boarding in the south while waiting for a foster in the north. When Campbell finally found a foster family and arrived in Pennsylvania, he was found to have heart worms (treatable, but very preventable) and he received heart worm treatment in early 2020. While getting the care for the heart worm treatment, his foster family fell completely in love and adopted him. Campbell is now heart worm free and will need monthly heart worm preventative (a chewable pill) and yearly heart worm testing. Shortly after being adopted, Campbell’s dad started working from home full time because of COVID-19, and Campbell completely flourished. He enjoyed spending all day with his dad, 2 dog brothers, and 2 cat siblings. Campbell’s mom also enjoyed more time with the family because her work hours had been reduced. Tragically, on June 9th, Campbell’s dad passed away from a heart attack, leaving Campbell, his siblings, and his mom devastated. For the past 3 weeks, Campbell has been staring at the door for hours, waiting for daddy for return. Campbell is getting depressed and soon Campbell’s mom has to return to work full time. Campbell’s mom knows that Campbell needs a family that will be home more than she can she be and reached out to Charlie’s Crusaders. Campbell is a “Velcro dog” and needs people and will actively seek out attention. For that reason, Charlie’s Crusaders requires that Campbell be adopted into a home where he will not be left alone. Campbell will also need a home with a 6 foot fenced in yard and a family with higher energy- he loves to play and run around. He is getting very good at fetch, but needs some training to not jump on people. Campbell loves rope toys and fake “growls” while he plays tug of war. Campbell also LOVES to cuddle, snuggle, and get belly rubs. Due to the tragic circumstances of why Campbell is being listed for adoption, we ask that the new adopters agree keep in touch with Campbell’s current mom, as she is understandably devastated. Campbell is up to date on his shots and neutered. Campbell is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash or harness. Campbell is great with older kids (he still jumps when excited), cats, and dogs. If you are interested in adopting Campbell, please apply at! Please Note Must Own your own home, Have a 6ft fenced in yard and breed experience. show less
