Meet Khloe! Kloe is around 2 years old and a shepherd mix! Kloe current foster says this about her:  Despite Khloe being found in a hole with her puppies, and them now being adopted she has excelled at learning to be loved and to love again. She has learned to play with other dogs her size and has a submissive personality. She has shown zero signs of aggression but does show fear of leashes. We are keeping it on her periodically to show there is nothing scary about it. She loves people and nudges your arm to pet her. She has excelled with potty training again and is going outside with pretty minimal accidents in the home. She doesn't mind her crate at all either. She has been around kids and does great. She does seem to show fear of loud noises and very sudden movements- but again no signs of aggression. It just makes her unsure of what is going on. A confident but not over dominant dog would help her become a dog again. She watches and learns from my dogs. And has been emulating their actions. She is very playful one on one. She has come so far but still needs someone to be patient. With her as she is still learning to trust and still learning to show love. You can see it in her that she is ready to love, play, and become a family member. She trusts people now which is night and day from when I got her. She has healed up nicely from getting spayed and took her medication with no treats. Plopped it in her food and she ate every bit. Khloe is ready to find a home with patience, a dog would be lovely for her, and even a kiddo to show her the ropes at living life. Please apply today at Charliescrusaders.org PLEASE NOTE: You must your own home, have a 6 foot fence and have breed experience.  show less

Meet Kiki! Please Note only available in Mississippi/Tennessee area! Current foster says this about her: Kiki was a resident of the vet's office a few years back. They don't remember how she got there, just that they rehomed her to a client of theirs. Recently, the client got a divorce and neither wanted Kiki, so she was taken back to the vet where she was put into a stainless steal kennel. She didn't do well in there and became very aggressive and attacked anyone who came near the door. It was all they could do to get food in to her. She stayed there over a month when they asked me to find a person who worked with highly fractious dogs and would take her on. I agreed, but later told them, I needed to see for myself how fractious she was and whether she would relax perceptibly after sitting with her for a while. The vet assistant was unable to get her out, but the vet managed to get a leash on her and lead her out into a room with me and a bag of treats and protective clothing. 45 minutes later, I walked out of the room carrying Kiki. I brought her home, where she's been sleeping in my bed with me every night and is the best of companions. There's no predicting whether she'll take to a new owner with no problems, so for that reason, I want to adopt her locally where the adoption applicant can come to my house and meet Kiki and sit with her for 45 minutes like I did and where I can go get her if it doesn't work out. Please apply today at Charliescrusaders.org  show less

Meet Mia! Mia current Foster says this about her: Mia is an extremely sweet and shy girl, very lady like  and very well mannered. She is completely house broken and crate trained though prefers to spend nights and days with her people and family. But she will not object when she has to be crated. She loves her people and does well with kids, dogs, and cats. She is easily scared and feels most comfortable with her humans and being inside most of the time but does enjoy sitting outside or taking casual walks around the block, loud noises are and new people are a bit scary at first, but she relaxes and adjusts very quickly. She would do best in the suburbs or rural area so she can relax outside and watch nature, and enjoy a yard to play in. Mia loves to play with her humans and low energy dogs, she does not like high energy dog companions as she is so mellow and finds them intimidating. She loves fetch and knows many tricks like sit, stay and paw. We have been fostering Mia for about 8 weeks now and she is a GEM. Really a perfect companion and a calm comfort around the house. She does shed and prefers cooler temperatures due to her heavy coat. She is a night owl and will tend to show her colorful more playful side at night, which is a treat, she can be such a goofball when she opens up! She is HW positive and has tolerated treatment amazingly well. She is so easy to love and deserves the best forever family.
