BIRGITTA (Brigitte)
Breed: Aidi mix (Atlas Shepard dog)
Gender: fe, spayed
Age: 3 years old
Wgt/Hgt: 42 lbs/almost 25-1/2 inches
Relations: Scared of other dogs/good with kids (per policy)/unknown cats
Activity Level: Moderate to somewhat active
Highlights: Loves people, food motivated (great for training), calm temperament
Region: Middle East

Sometimes bad things happen that lead to wonderful opportunities... that is my story. I was involved in a serious car accident here in the Middle East and the people who found me thought it best to put me down as my treatment would be too costly, but lucky for me there were others willing to step in and help with the surgery costs.

But my story does not end there. It was not long before they came to learn I also had parvovirus. Things did not look good for me. But I am a survivor and after months of care I was finally strong enough to undergo the extensive surgery I needed.

The surgeon had very little hope I would walk again, but again I amazed them ! With physiotherapy and lots of love, I was able to regain the use of my legs quite well if I may say so myself. I do drag my back leg a bit but it adds to my charm - check out my video.  https://youtu.be/KwmvoM9yLPs. Now I am running too https://youtu.be/qaFU1lT28HE.

When I was living on the street food was scarce, so now I will eat and eat and eat ... I am very food motivated. Bet you could use that to your advantage to teach me lots of tricks.

Next to food my favourite thing is tummy rubs and will drop whatever I am doing to get one of those!

I am a people pleaser and love all of you two legged creatures .. especially the youngsters - I very much enjoy playing with children. It’s the four legged ones I am not too sure about. Other dogs scare me a bit but with time I will warm up to them and welcome these new friends too. I  am never aggressive just fearful. https://youtu.be/690U-kbYCEM.

No one is 100% sure how I will react to cats, as there are none here at my new foster, but one of the rescue volunteers remembers me during my time on the street and never once witnessed any aggression by me towards the cats that approached my food. But if that is important to you, they have promised to try their best to introduce me once our world opens up again. I have encountered cats on my walks with my foster and I do pull but it is thought it is out of curiousity not aggression.

This lock down is hard on everyone. But here at my foster, with Parvo in my past, I have blossomed into a healthy happy dog with a calm temperament full of love for everyone. My foster thinks I am just the sweetest dog around.

Now it is time for a new chapter, the one that has lead me here... one I hope, involves a forever home in Canada with you !

I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.
My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada.

Hello, it's me, Charli! I appear to be a 3-year old Australian Kelpie mix, weighing 37 pounds and standing about 25 inches tall (to my shoulders). I came all the way from Bali and now I’m living with my foster mum in Canada. In Bali people don't care much for dogs.  I was left as a pup at a local garbage dump where my rescuers found me living amongst the filth. They tried to rescue me for many days, but I always ran away because I was so terrified of absolutely everything and everyone. Luckily, because of their persistence, I ended up living pretty happily with my rescuers and several other rescue dogs for years. Sadly though, they had to return to their home country, Australia, and couldn't take us with them. So here I am, a Bali girl in the big city of Vancouver! After arriving here, I was very sad for a while and had a hard time adjusting to my new life. My new foster mum has made me feel safe though, so I stick to her like glue now! Although it has been quite a challenge adjusting to my new life in Canada, my foster mama says I am slowlyyy coming out of my shell. I am still quite anxious and jumpy, and quite frankly I can be a bit grumpy towards other dogs and men. We’re still not sure why – perhaps I was abused as a little pup or bullied by some other dogs? I’m definitely a “Mama’s Girl” – so I think I’d do best in solo-pet home with a female owner (Girl time? Count me in!!) Because I love my foster mum so much, I have some separation anxiety when she leaves me alone (fun fact: I can howl pretty darn loud). My foster mum is working with me on that and has started taking short trips out of the house to get me used to her not being there. It’s a slow process, but good things take time, right? My foster mum has also found out that I love having my own space – so me and my crate are pretty good buddies, it makes me feel safe and comfortable. The crate is never locked, so I can come and go as I please! What’s my ideal home? Well, I’m pretty athletic and very good on leash, so perhaps a home with a jogging buddy? Or someone who could take me for long walks in the forest… I hear its peaceful up there (and boy could I use some peace in my life!!) I can jump really high by the way, so you may want to keep an eye on me if your fence isn't very tall. I am also very smart and have learned lots of tricks! Mostly, I crave love from someone gentle and calm; someone who understands that I'm quite nervous in the beginning, especially with men and other dogs (I’ll run away with my little tail between my legs). My world has been turned upside down multiple times, so I just want to find a secure, loving home where I feel safe. Are you patient, gentle, and kind? Could you please be my furever family? I know you're out there somewhere. Please come and find me.   UPDATE: As much as my foster mum would LOVE to adopt me (because we adore each other!), I have not been able to get past my fear of men and I still bark at my foster dad whenever he enters the room.  My household needs: - preferrably WOMAN-ONLY (or a male + female home with an extremely patient, gentle man with rescue experience) - SINGLE-PET home (I want all your love to myself!)   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee is $500 CAD.   Looking for more furry friends? Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hi everyone, Charlotte here.  I feel like I must be dreaming, but it seems I really do have a chance at finding a home. I am a one year old Jindo mix from South Korea, weighing 26lb and 17 inches tall. Until recently I had only known life at the end of a short chain. My rescue occurred after a villager complained that there were many strays on his property. The firefighters came out to round up the strays and when they followed the dogs they came across me and another female chained up behind some buildings.  Our ten puppies were close by, many of them in small cages.    It turned out that our owner had been in hospital for some time so we had been without food, water or any kind of attention for far too long and were in a sorry state. When they were asked about us, the owners family told the firefighters to kill us all! Thankfully that didn't happen and we were instead taken to a private rescue facility. That's where I am now while I wait for you to send for me. Despite that experience I am a bright and lively dog who adores being around people. I am the kind of dog who will approach every stranger with a wagging tail in the hope that I get a scratch or a stroke or a few kind words. If there are children around, that's even better; I love them and will be gentle and patient while they touch me.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvWmGV0uTaI&list=PL3UlJJYID8eGQ_AW6sqGPkc6FpFPxCdCT&index=7 I really am all about people so when it comes to other dogs I tend to be indifferent.  They are perfectly fine, but I just don't find them nearly as interesting as humans.  To be honest, I show more curiosity when I meet cats. If they would play with me, that would be cool, but I won't be offended if they tell me to get lost either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eepCaLCLxt0&list=PL3UlJJYID8eGQ_AW6sqGPkc6FpFPxCdCT&index=5 Being outdoors is my preference whenever possible. And being outdoors with people is the ultimate. It would be awesome if I could find a home with someone who loved to go for hikes exploring the natural world with their best friend (me!) by their side.  Or we could just play tug-o-war together; I like that too!  Since I'm quite motivated by food you would probably find me easy to train. And because I am so eager to please you I will give you all my attention.  So what do you say? Can we start sharing this wonderful life together?  I'll be waiting to hear from you.   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. He is 2.5 years old, a neutered male, Anatolian Shepherd mix. He is very social and loves the company of people of all kind and dogs. He is not cat tested, but since he has such an amazing temperament, with patience and proper introductions, he will be ok. He is crate trained. Chixxy (Alyssa) Breed: Anatolian Shepard / Spanish Greyhound (Galgo) Age: 1 yr Gender: fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 72 lbs / 32-1/2 inches Energy level: moderate to moderate-high Relations: good with dogs / unknown cats, kids Highlights: sweet natured, bit shy Region: Middle East I have a very sweet nature, though I can be a bit shy until I get to know you. After that, I am a lover. My mother was getting pregnant way too often on the streets here in the Middle East. Our rescuer caught her with me and my litter mates when we were about 2-3 months old. My brother Blaise is also listed on here. We were put into foster homes until we were older. Now we are ready to live in Canadian homes. I am a very loveable pup, smart and a fast learner. I get along with other dogs, so a buddy in the home is fine. Kitty cats and kids are not ones I have been around though. An energetic to moderately active home would be right up my alley. Having my own doggie bed would be so nice, but of course if you let me, I would be cuddled up with you in your bed too. Are the dog parks as fun as I hear? I sure hope so.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated &microchipped.  My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD + applicable tax. This includes my transportation to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. I mean, who can resist a good chowder, right? Found as a puppy about a month old, I had a lot of skin issues and a problem with my paw. When the rescuer had me checked, they found I had an break in that leg. They did surgery, along with medicating my skin and now I am back to full health. I tend to be a pretty calm, though a bit afraid in the beginning. I really like treats and stuffy toys, so you can bet you would start a good relationship with me by giving me little yummies. Kitties are probably fine, as I was living with some for a couple months in the past. Another dog buddy is A-ok too. Don't know a thing about those really short, young humans though. I am good on a leash and also house trained... SCORE! Bet that is a load off your mind. Oh, and I really like to take walks. I hear there are plenty of places to do that in the Pacific Northwest. So, whaddya say? How 'bout we get together and start a beautiful relationship together? Just say the word and I'm ready to flap my ears to wing my way to you. Ok... well, I will have to take a plane, but I'll get there. I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Name: Cobalt (Abi) Breed: Husky Age: 2 yrs Gender: Male, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 88 lbs / 29.5 inches Activity level: high energy Relations: good dogs / okay with cats Highlights: friendly, lively, athletic, energetic, loves people Region: Middle East Okay, wait for it… I know you can feel it already, the magnetism. Yeah, I know cobalt is a color (and my eyes are pretty similar to it), but that’s not the only reason why I’m called that (Abi means Blue in my native language). As I’m sure you know, cobalt is an eye-catching metal and its magnetic properties make it more special. Well, that description also suits me. I’m an eye-catching guy with tons of energy to move around collecting magnetic moments as I take a walk with my soon-to-be favorite person in the world.  I’m originally from the Middle East, but now I’d like to think of myself as a Canadian in training. However, I do have some history here where I’m currently waiting to be taken to my forever home abroad. While I was wandering around my rescuer’s place, some of my now dog friends alerted her of my presence. It was clear to her that I was lost. I was wearing a collar and it didn’t seem like I was an actual stray. I looked way too comfortable being around them (even joined a great barking moment) and I was way too trusting and gentle to have had a hard life on the streets for long.  After I was brought to the back yard, my rescuer took a closer look at me. I was definitely tired, my legs were sore and my fur was a mess. She decided to feed me (Oh, man, was I hungry!) and since I didn’t leave, she concluded I must’ve had a family before. The theory is that I might’ve accidentally lost my way. Because of that, my rescuer started a search for my family through in different neighborhoods almost a year ago. But I guess, if I did have a family before, they must’ve forgotten about me. Nobody with sound evidence of ownership ever showed, so we decided that it was time for me to look for a loving home. You must know that, just like the metal, I’m vibrant. I’m a lively guy who loves going outdoors. It’s my favorite place to be; whether it’s playing or running or just hanging out, I’m my happiest when I’m outside.  I’m quite energetic. Some might say that I’m somehow hyperactive, so living with someone who enjoys the athletic lifestyle would be perfect. And if there’s a garden to work out in, we can even be training partners! Although I’m not yet leash trained (so you’ll have to take me out with all the precautions at first), I’m sure I’ll be able to learn how it’s done pretty fast. I’m a smart boy too.  My social skills are also quite developed. I get along with other dogs, big and small (as long as they’re not bullies.) Some odd creatures like chickens and cats get me pretty hyped up though. They’re a little weird, man, what can I say? It’s exciting when they’re around. So that’s me, Cobalt, the magnetic athlete. If you want to experience what it's like to exude magnetic energy all the time, just click on the adopt button right away. I’ll make sure to pass on all my secrets to make your life the perfect combination of love and enthusiasm. I’m sure I’ll fit right into your life and I’ll bring tons of joy and excitement to it from the very start. You only have to click and let my blue eyes charm you!  I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   My name is Cowboy and I'm a handsome mix of Jindo and Great Pyrenees. I am a year old, weigh 55lb and measure 25 inches. I was found as a stray and taken to a high kill shelter. Since big dogs like me are not popular here in S.Korea, I was soon put on the euthanasia list. Just in time someone from another rescue group saved me.  When I first came to the shelter I was tested and found to be heartworm postitive. Fortunately it was only stage 2, so I was treated and cleared on April 25, 2020. Now I'm ready for a new life with my forever family. I am a calm dog who is a little shy with strangers at first meeting, but soon relaxes after a little petting and kind words. Here I am meeting a stranger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkhXYa0Ax3U&list=PL3UlJJYID8eHqxnSqn0qkzwSLFmhxJO9v and this is me gently accepting a treat from a child: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lc9n1qS5-ZY&list=PL3UlJJYID8eHqxnSqn0qkzwSLFmhxJO9v&index=2 Around bigger dogs I tend to be a little more cautious when I introduce myself, just until I know they like me, but with smaller ones I'm quickly at ease and I become quite puppy-like in my play style. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_i7yJ4GpFA&list=PL3UlJJYID8eHqxnSqn0qkzwSLFmhxJO9v&index=3 Though I really don't see the attraction, I accept that some of you humans seem to enjoy living with cats. Personally I find them a little intimidating and I'll avoid them if I can. If living with you means sharing the home with a cat, then I'll just have to suck it up! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCXzUvOCMPQ&list=PL3UlJJYID8eHqxnSqn0qkzwSLFmhxJO9v&index=6 While I am not a super high energy dog I do enjoy going for walks and will stick close by my handler as we explore. It's quite possible that I will become more energetic once I have the opportunity for longer walks and more active outdoor time.  I'd love the chance to find out. What I really want you to know is that I am a dog with the sweetest nature who is gentle with everyone and everything. I would rather drop a treat on the ground than risk offending you by grabbing it greedily.  So do you think we could be the perfect match? I hope so.     I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.    Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait Hello world! My name is Dali and I am a charming 2.5 year old white shepherd mix from Mexico. I am 60 pounds of pure handsomeness; check out my perky ears and kind face. Aren’t I so darn cute? My rescuers say that I am strong but “majestic”. My past is a bit of a mystery, but if it was anything like most other strays in Mexico, it probably wasn’t ideal. Strays often struggle to survive in the hot streets and rarely have enough food or water. Luckily, I’m now safe and sound at the shelter! Although it is not luxurious, at least I have all of my necessities being met. I get along well with other dogg-o's and I am learning to trust humans. My foster mum has been taking very good care of me and has been showing me what it’s like to be loved! I’m a pretty good boy on the leash albeit a wee bit distracted by yummy smells and things that move, hehehe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2adjs4_MBU&feature=youtu.be). Although I’m good with dogs, I’m not a huge fan of the cats, so no kitties in my household please. I am an active pooch who would be an ideal doggy for someone who wants to have a companion for ample outdoor activities. I’ve never had the opportunity to embark on such adventures, but I imagine I would love to hike, walk, swim, camp… etc. Bring on the outdoor escapades! Are ya sold on me yet? I’m basically the full meal deal; young, adorable, smart, energetic! What more can you want in a furry, four-legged companion? I am neutered and vaccinated. My adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. Good day. I am Damon and I am a 5 year old, possibly Shepard mix. I suppose there could be a bit of a sighthound breed in me too. Weighing in at almost 73 lbs and around 35 inches tall, I am a very kind and quite friendly dog.  When I was found, my rescuers said it seemed like I was begging for help. I came near to them, showed my leg and sat down. The gentle look in my eyes, told them to take me. My front leg was cut at the the wrist and was severely swollen. This was how they found me: https://youtu.be/ZYag0q778Pc, https://youtu.be/qkNNAYKklZc. The vet amputated it, as it was developing an infection. It was awful. When my rescuers questioned people about my paw, they were told somebody cut it off as punishment for eating his hens. This sadistic evil doer wanted to shoot me dead, but decided to do this instead to make me feel severe pain. So, now I live as a tripaw, but it hasn't affected my sweet disposition. I long for closeness and give only love in return. https://youtu.be/A3Zm6F6S0BY I like very much to play. You won't find me feeling sorry for myself, no siree. I want to run around and have fun now that my leg is not an issue.  I have never been around kitties, but I am great with people. I am good with other dogs & kids too. https://youtu.be/zvlxDwHK6qs. A good home would be one who wants to play games with me, while respecting my limitations. Moderate activity would be good. Not a requirement. But I am on board if you have another dog to be buddies with too. I hope you have rooming your heart and home for a super sweet, loving boy like me. Another vid, https://youtu.be/LFYZvVwH2PM. I am sooooo waiting to reach Canada: https://youtu.be/leVjUVOH9XE. I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $450.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Daniel (Billy) -  Foster lined up. Thanks. Breed: Shepard/Pointer Age: 1 yr Gender: male, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 43 lbs / 20 inches Energy level: moderate to active Relations: good with dogs / unknown cats & kids Highlights: house trained, polite, loves to play ball I was saved from a horribly painful death at the hands of monstrous people in the Middle East. They had doused me with gasoline and were about to light me on fire, when my rescuer swooped in and pulled me put of the situation. They also cut my ears & tail off. https://youtu.be/PARiXHddxMo. My rescuer planned to keep me, but the neighbors have complained. People here in the Middle East still think dogs are unclean. It is all bogus of course, but they need to relearn that dogs are good. Anyway, the police have given my family here a month to get me out. That means by the end of November. You will find I like to please and am quite the polite little boy. Bonus, I am already house trained. I will likely be a medium-large sized dog, so I hope you like lots of big loving coming your way. I like other dogs, though haven't been around kitties or kids yet. Being I am yet a puppy and a sweet one at that, it is likely I could get along fine with respectful children. It is just that I have not been tested with any yet. See how bouncey, trouncey I am in my vids. Maybe agility sports should be in my future. https://youtu.be/X3RXe_K44Sk, https://youtu.be/AKLG2v6gCN8. I love to play ball. So, I hope you like to do fun activities like that. Maybe some hiking or ball playing at the dog park? While I am young I will probably be fairly active. Once I mature, probably moderate to active.  There is someone there for me reading this now, I just know it. Please help me and keep my rescuer from crying. She is distraught over this. I will be your lifelong buddy... and cuddle bud and playmate and... well, you get the picture. Update: I have been chosen by a loving adopter & am currently with a rescuer until a flight is found.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $600.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. DENALI (Darya) Breed: Lab/Husky/Shepard (Estrela Mtn Dog) Age: 6 months Gender: fe, too young to spay Wgt/Hgt: 40 lbs / 20.5 inches Energy level: moderate, average puppy Relations: good w/ dogs, cats / unknown kids, but since puppies, ok to learn Highlights: a bit shy, smart, loving disposition, sensitive stomach Region: Middle East Check out my majestic qualities of beauty. They will make you slow down and take notice. I am a very kind and smart pup, though I am a bit shy yet. Just give me a little time and I should be A-ok to mingle though Me and my siblings (Domino & Donegal) were found in the street when we were young puppies. Our mama died of an infection, so our rescuer made sure we would be safe. We are with her mother right now, but can only stay a limited time. We will have to go to a shelter soon, if we don't find homes. I should be around 65 lbs and perhaps 22 inches or so tall when full grown. There is a kitty in our current home, so we are fine with a cat. Although I haven't been around children yet, I am a young puppy still, so capable of learning to live with them. I do have a bit of a sensitive stomach to some foods, like eggs. They will make me sick or I don't digest them as well. I could probably use some pre & probiotics to help with this. Also, I don't like feeling hungry, so may need a few smaller meals rather than a couple big ones. It would be nice to be able to go out and play like normal puppies, but sadly it isn't safe here in our country for us to do that. Here I am wrestling with my sister and a tiny dog. https://youtu.be/rv1hb8QSGeo. You would have soooo much fun taking a puppy to the dog park or hiking or to the beach, wouldn't you? If you have another dog in your home already, that would be super. Not only would I have a playmate, but I could learn from them about the North American way of life too. Ah, how I dream of green grass to play on, snow to romp in, sand to wiggles my toes through and a lake in which to bound in with a splash. My energy is like any other puppy - bouncey trouncey, but as I mature, I will be at about a moderate level. I'd certainly love to get out of here. Signing off for now. I have not been spayed/neutered, as I am too young yet. I am *vaccinated & micro-chipped though. My adoption fee is $600.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada. My spay/neuter is mandatory for my adoption to be finalized. LALDR does not cover the cost of sterilization on dogs arriving under 8 months of age.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. As you can see, I am just a real cutie pie. Me and my siblings (Denali & Donegal) were found in the street when we were young puppies. Our mama died of an infection, so our rescuer made sure we would be safe. We are with her mother right now, but can only stay a limited time. It would be nice to be able to go out and play like normal puppies, but sadly it isn't safe here in our country for us to do that. A moderately active home suits me well. I'd love to get out running around, but then come home and get some belly rubs. Aaah, to relax in my very own home, in my very own bed, with my very own family. What a dream come true. I would do fine with another dog in the family too. So no worries there. Here I am hanging out with my sis: https://youtu.be/JqO0sYf3pXU. I am a playful girl and often am the one who will initiate play with them. Can't you just envision us hanging out together. Other folks will all wishing they had a dog so grand looking. What a bond we could develop doing everything together.  Well, what are you waiting for? Bump your chair up to the desk and speedily hit that adopt button. I'm waiting.
