BIRGITTA (Brigitte)
Breed: Aidi mix (Atlas Shepard dog)
Gender: fe, spayed
Age: 3 years old
Wgt/Hgt: 42 lbs/almost 25-1/2 inches
Relations: Scared of other dogs/good with kids (per policy)/unknown cats
Activity Level: Moderate to somewhat active
Highlights: Loves people, food motivated (great for training), calm temperament
Region: Middle East

Sometimes bad things happen that lead to wonderful opportunities... that is my story. I was involved in a serious car accident here in the Middle East and the people who found me thought it best to put me down as my treatment would be too costly, but lucky for me there were others willing to step in and help with the surgery costs.

But my story does not end there. It was not long before they came to learn I also had parvovirus. Things did not look good for me. But I am a survivor and after months of care I was finally strong enough to undergo the extensive surgery I needed.

The surgeon had very little hope I would walk again, but again I amazed them ! With physiotherapy and lots of love, I was able to regain the use of my legs quite well if I may say so myself. I do drag my back leg a bit but it adds to my charm - check out my video.  https://youtu.be/KwmvoM9yLPs. Now I am running too https://youtu.be/qaFU1lT28HE.

When I was living on the street food was scarce, so now I will eat and eat and eat ... I am very food motivated. Bet you could use that to your advantage to teach me lots of tricks.

Next to food my favourite thing is tummy rubs and will drop whatever I am doing to get one of those!

I am a people pleaser and love all of you two legged creatures .. especially the youngsters - I very much enjoy playing with children. It’s the four legged ones I am not too sure about. Other dogs scare me a bit but with time I will warm up to them and welcome these new friends too. I  am never aggressive just fearful. https://youtu.be/690U-kbYCEM.

No one is 100% sure how I will react to cats, as there are none here at my new foster, but one of the rescue volunteers remembers me during my time on the street and never once witnessed any aggression by me towards the cats that approached my food. But if that is important to you, they have promised to try their best to introduce me once our world opens up again. I have encountered cats on my walks with my foster and I do pull but it is thought it is out of curiousity not aggression.

This lock down is hard on everyone. But here at my foster, with Parvo in my past, I have blossomed into a healthy happy dog with a calm temperament full of love for everyone. My foster thinks I am just the sweetest dog around.

Now it is time for a new chapter, the one that has lead me here... one I hope, involves a forever home in Canada with you !

I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.
My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada.

Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hi, I am Luke, a confident, friendly, two year old Jindo mix from S.Korea.  I weigh 48lb and I'm 22 inches tall. A volunteer with a private rescue group spotted me at the city pound and quickly decided to get me out of there.  Must have been my handsome looks and unique charm that convinced her I was meant for better things! After I was sprung from jail (that's what it felt like to me!), I spent some time at a special boarding facility that prepares us dogs for life as part of a human family.  Pretty cool, huh ? I gotta say, I'm really excited about my future human family because I just love spending time with humans. I'm the kind of dog who likes everybody, regardless of age or gender. My standard greeting is a smiley face and a wagging tail. Take a look at how relaxed and calm I am when this little girl came to meet me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NX4TmEna1Gk&list=PL3UlJJYID8eEAI41hmt_c-X7l05QOy5E-&index=2 Being a highly social dog, I also enjoy meeting new dog friends. You can take me to a dog park and I'll greet other big dogs like it's a reunion of old buddies. My whole body will wiggle with excitement when I say hello. At first I may be a little nervous getting in the car - I haven't had much experience with that - but once I get the hang of it, and realise it means we're going somewhere fun, I'm sure I'll think nothing of in there like a pro. Even annoying small dogs like this one who wouldn't quit following me around, deserve a patient attitude.  If you already have a dog in the home I think we would quickly become fast friends.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBfDTjmmpOM&list=PL3UlJJYID8eEAI41hmt_c-X7l05QOy5E-&index=4 When it came time for me to be introduced to a cat I was a little tense. It's really hard to know if I could safely live with cats without spending more time around them.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEOFXkCNx-M&list=PL3UlJJYID8eEAI41hmt_c-X7l05QOy5E-&index=6 If you're looking for a dog with a bit of pep, the kind who would love to go for a hike or a run with you, who is a fast learner and wants to please; then you have found him.  I'd make a good family dog or a best buddy for an active couple or a single.   Really, what's not to love?   I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes, includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Hiya! Lyla here! I am a one-year old, 38-pound Belgian Malinois-mixed pooch from Mexico. Quite the beauty, eh? Check out my two different coloured eyes! I am a lovely, fun girl who deserves a home filled with love and adventure! My past is a bit of a mystery, but if it was anything like most other strays in Mexico, it probably wasn’t ideal. Strays often struggle to survive in the hot streets and rarely have enough food or water. Luckily, I’m now safe and sound at the shelter! Although it is not luxurious, at least I have all of my necessities being met. Personality-wise, I am pretty awesome (if I do say so myself, hehe)! Being part Belgian Malinois (we think), I have traits very similar to that of a German Shepherd; I am intuitive, hard-working, active, protective, and a wee-bit stubborn sometimes. I am by no means a ‘couch-potato’ dog. I would LOVE to find a home where I can be challenged. Doggy puzzles, hikes, agility training… I’m a smart cookie and need to be kept busy. I long to have my very own people who love me unconditionally and give me the activity I need. I dream of going on lots of adventures; hikes, dog parks, swimming, car rides… you name it, I’d like to try it! It would be sooo nice to have a family who gives me lots of treats and belly rubs. I promise to repay you with lots of tail-wagging and doggy kisses! My rescuers say that I am very loving with people and would be an ideal dogg-o for someone who wants to have a companion for ample outdoor activities. My rescuers say that I am super friendly and get along well with other dogs. Needless to say, I would be more than happy to share my household with another active doggy! I’m not a huge fan of the felines however, so no kitty cats in my household please. Check out my vid with me and my kennel-buddies (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9CrBU3P6Oc&feature=youtu.be). I have already learned some basic obedience skills, but I know I am capable of learning so much more. I’m a smart dawg, remember? Care to embark on this adventure with me? Pretty please consider me for your new furry family member! I am spayed and vaccinated. My adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Hello world! My name is Mackie and I am a charming 2 year old saluki/golden retriever mixed pup from Bahrain. I am 50 pounds of pure handsomeness and stand about 23 inches tall. Check out my adorable nose freckles and soft, furry ears. Aren’t I SO darn cute? I was found wandering the streets of Bahrain with my bro, Brownie. A kind American man noticed us and brought us to the Shelter where we could be cared for and kept safe from the dangers of the city streets. We have been at the BARC Shelter ever since, and even though they take great care of us, we both long to have a home of our own. I’m really good with other dogg-o's (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsTC1dttIFk) and I LOVE to be loved by my humans (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9mBo6mRkB0&feature=youtu.be). They seem to love me too, I mean, look how gentle and cute I am!! How could they not love me?! I’m a pretty good boy on the leash albeit a wee bit distracted by yummy smells and things that move, hehehe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqZHGgM8y4k&feature=youtu.be). My rescuers say that I am SUPER sweet. Look at my picture of me being super smart doing my “shake-a-paw". Are ya sold on me yet? I’m basically the full meal deal; young, adorable, smart, and gentle! What more can you want in an furry, four-legged companion? I am neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hello, it's Maggie, ready and waiting to come and live with you forever. Pleeeease make it so! I was found with my puppy, living on the streets of Shanghai and we were both brought to the shelter. Because it was already so crowded there, the shelter manager ended up bringing us both back to her house to be fostered. We're very lucky because there are only about 15 dogs here, whereas back at the shelter there are over 300! They guess my age to be somewhere around a year and a half to two years, I weigh 20lb and I'm a fairly short little dog at just 14 inches tall. I look like I might have some Tibetan spaniel in my genetic make up.  I'm a fairly easy-going dog who can be quite content doing nothing much. Every once in a while I enjoy the chance to chase away the odd stray cat that dares to visit the courtyard, but the rest of my days are spent checking out the house and yard, napping in a corner or schmoozing with the other dogs who live here.  Mind you, once I have my own family I'm sure there will be other interesting things to do. Going for daily walks for one thing. Maybe even snuggling with my people. Those are things I don't get the chance to do around here and they sound awfully nice to me. I have a feeling you could change my whole life if you decide that I'm the one. Here's hoping........   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hello from South Korea. I am Mango, a 2 year old female Jindo mix with a nature as sweet as my namesake fruit.  I weigh almost 29lb and am 23 inches tall. When I was found as a stray on the streets of Hwaseong City I was taken the the pound. Shortly after my arrival there it was decided that the pound would be shut down and those dogs that weren't adopted by a certain date would be euthanized. At the last minute a volunteer saved me from that fate and I am now safe in a private shelter until I find my forever home.  As is typical of many Jindo's I have a very trusting nature. I'll gladly roll over on my back and present my lovely belly to complete strangers. I'll stand calmly while children pat me and stroke me all they want and wouldn't dream of walking away until they've had their fill. You have to be patient with little people I find!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVidyMkfJiw&list=PL3UlJJYID8eHfqPs1_T9kQ9uzIDr1U6tD&index=6 Look how I meet this strange man with a hood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8lf5DcD9y0&list=PL3UlJJYID8eHfqPs1_T9kQ9uzIDr1U6tD&index=4 I also have good manners with my interactions with other dogs. I greet them very nicely and let them show me if they are interested in play before I make assumptions. It's the best way to make friends and it's why I get along with dogs of just about any size.  My playful nature means I'm best with other young dogs as I tend to irritate older ones.  I'm great on the leash; don't pull at all and I would really enjoy going for regular walks with my own special person.   When I first come to live with you I might be a little spooked by loud noises, but other than that I will probably settle in very well. Especially if you like giving belly rubs! Me and my lovely belly will be right here waiting for you to send for us.........   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Marble (Maya) Breed: Shepard mix Age: 3 yrs Gender: Fe, spayed Weight/Height: 66 lbs/ 27-1/2 inches Activity level: Low to Moderate Relations: good with dogs / no cats / kids unknown, but likely fine Highlights: kind, loves all people, tripaw Region: Middle East Greetings. I am a very sweet, not so commonly seen brindle Shepard mix. Don't you just love my coat color? I was rescued from a government truck in the Middle East that was taking me to be killed by acid injection, a severely painful way to die. I get along with every human I see. I am fine with other dogs too. I really don't like those meowy things though and get kind of mean with them. Never been around children yet. But, as I seem to love every person I see, if the kids gave me attention, I'd probably be happy with them too. Just understand, I haven't been tested around them.  The rescuer is having me re-evaluated at the vet to see if they should amputate further up my leg, as I dip down bending my other leg a lot wanting to use the short leg https://youtu.be/WcJ-t3Koot4. A prosthesis might be of great benefit helping me though, if I could keep the leg.  Since I am past puppy stage, probably a mellow home that is low to moderately low in activity would suit me. I enjoy just hanging out, getting loved on and smelling the roses while out on walks, so to speak. I sure hope I can get to Canada or the US soon. A shelter is no place for a lovely girl like me. Are you ready for compliments galore from people who see my gorgeous beauty? That's probably what you are going to hear.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $450.00 CAD + applicable taxes, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hi there, my name is Marilyn. I'm a 13lb chihuahua mix, around 2 years of age and 12 inches tall and I am dying to meet you in person. Right now I am living in a foster home after being dumped, along with my litter of puppies outside the gates of the Shanghai shelter.  Whether it was the shock of being in such a noisy, crowded place, or being separated from my puppies, I don't know, but the fact is I spent all day, every day crying in that shelter.  The shelter manager couldn't stand it any longer so she brought me back to her house. It's hard for me to count all the foster dogs she has here, but I don't mind, because I am way happier in this place than I was at the shelter.  I don't cry any more and in fact I often feel quite happy.  My happiest moments are when I get cuddles from my foster mom or one of the other humans here. I love it when people show me affection and I can give lots of it back in return, so I hope you're prepared! Hanging out with the other dogs is very pleasant because we've all become friends. I could easily share my future home with another dog if you have one already. Since I arrived here I seem to have a little extra cushioning around my middle, so I could probably use your help to lose a couple of pounds and get my svelte figure back. I don't have a chance to go out for walks (there are too many of us for that) so once you and I start doing that each day, I'm sure I'll get back in shape in no time! Check out how cute I look in my snug little jacket. I'm hoping it will make me so irresistible that you'll rush to fill out my adoption application right away!   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada. Then, I'm your gal. My coat is a beautiful marmalade color and I am sweet as marmalade too. I was found badly injured by a road in the Middle East. My leg had been broken and healed improperly, so I needed that leg amputated. I am now part of that elite group of the dog tag carrying tripaw club. Don't let it worry you too much, I have learned to get around despite my handicap. I am super kind and I like other dogs and people too. I am quite polite with kids, though I don't have a video to prove it. I've not been around those purrball machines, so not sure what my reactions to them would be. If I had a home where I could hang with humans all day long, I would be in doggie heaven. I like to play like any pup, but it is nice to just chill at times too. I listen well to what you tell me... well, I am going to need to learn English to understand what you are wanting from me first. You wouldn't happen to be bilingual, would you? No matter, I am smart enough to learn commands in another language, if you will have patience and give me the time to settle and figure it out. I hear Canada has some superb beaches and trails and even something called a dog park. A park for us dogs? Whoa! Pretty amazing. Nothing even close to that here. Can't wait to run around one of those. All you gotta do is submit an application and I could be on my way to stick myself to your heart. Get it? Marmalade, sticky jelly like substance... aaah, you are giggling, aren't you? Like a bowl of hahaaa, yup you got it. I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Hi, I am so happy to have this chance at finding my person. Could it be you?  My name is Meg and I am a 2 year old terrier mix from South Korea, weighing in at 24lb and measuring 18 inches to my shoulders.  When I was first spotted I was living on the streets of Jeju island and dodging cars on a daily basis. Several times the people who spotted me thought for sure I was going to be run over. Finally someone managed to catch me and brought me to her home thinking she'd be able to track down my owner. But I wasn't microchipped and had no other identification so it was impossible. By this time I was not only malnourished and weak, but I was also pregnant. Shortly after being rescued in August 2019 I gave birth to a litter of 6 puppies.  I proved to be a devoted mother as you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynhr2nLULyg&list=PL3UlJJYID8eHWfqTpINx3HTrfILqnypO8&index=9 For the next 7 months my rescuer fostered me and I happily shared the home with her dog and a cat, so you can feel confident that I could move right in with your current pets if you pick me.  Here I am at my foster home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SukCcNEtca8&list=PL3UlJJYID8eHWfqTpINx3HTrfILqnypO8&index=8 Now that I have been at this rescue facility for a little while they have been able to assess my personality in preparation for my adoption. So let me tell you about my character. Overall, I am a calm dog. I can be a little shy around strangers initially, but will soon allow people to pet me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pU0G2nRnXU&list=PL3UlJJYID8eHWfqTpINx3HTrfILqnypO8&index=2&t=0s Here I am meeting a child: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tm5ueZWL93o&list=PL3UlJJYID8eHWfqTpINx3HTrfILqnypO8&index=2  I would be fine living with older children who would be gentle and patient with me. While I certainly enjoy going for walks and taking note of all the interesting scents along the way, I'm not a high energy kind of dog and would be quite satisfied with a couple of moderate daily walks. If you're looking for a fairly easy dog to introduce to your life; a sweet, quiet girl who would really love to be your special one, then please don't look any further. We are just right for each other.   I am spayed, vaccinate and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Hi, sweet humans! I’m Milli and I’m searching for a forever home. Who am I? Well, I’m an adorable 3 year old mixed-lab pooch from Bahrain. I weigh a petite 44 pounds and stand 23 inches tall. My rescuers say that I am lovely and gentle. Bonus: I’m dog and cat friendly! Yup, you heard me correctly… bring on the furry friends! My story is a bit unknown. All my rescuers know is that I was a stray on the streets of Bahrain. They took me in when I was just a little pup and thank goodness they did! They have kept me safe and sound at the shelter ever since. It has been a few years now though and I reallyyyyy wish I had a home and a human to call my own. Check out my videos of me being friendly with kitty cats (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzmMAvbhKl4&feature=youtu.be). Yup, I’m cool as a cucumber around cats! You can see that I wag my tail around both dogs and cats (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYthIMXGXtI&feature=youtu.be). See? I’m a good girl and super friendly. What I REALLY love is humans though. Give me a nice ear scratch and a belly rub and I will literally become your BFF (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L11DKRZF00&feature=youtu.be). Ooooh I'm also pretty darn good on a leash (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5cojkIcFi0&feature=youtu.be), okay... maybe I still have a bit of room for improvement (he he he). If you’re looking for a four-legged companion to love you endlessly, look no further! I am a moderately active, chill doggy who has a LOT of love to give (and deserves even more love in return!)  I am spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. My adoption fee of $500 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.    Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. MOE - pending adoption

Jack Russell Terrier

Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Three times unlucky, that's me. Three times I found an adopter over there in Canada and each time it has fallen through. Why, oh why can't I find someone to bring me home? I get that I don't have the appeal of a puppy or the looks of a Golden Retriever, but I have a ton of love in this compact little body of mine, and more personality than you could shake a stick at (hey, don't just shake that stick, let's play tug-o-war with it).  My name is Moe, I am around 3 years of age and resemble a jack russel/beagle mix. I weigh 26lb and am 16 inches to my shoulders. My previous owners tossed me out on the streets when they grew tired of me. I know - awful isn't it, but it happens all the time around here. Since then I've been living in this very crowded shelter in Shanghai and I have to admit, much as I enjoy the company of other dogs, this is ridiculous! There are just too many of us here and we all agree we could use a lot less doggyness and a lot more people-time.  All I need is one special person to really 'see' me. I know you're out there.  Check out my 'standing upright' move and maybe you'll realise I am the kind of dog who would be willing to master any trick you care to teach me, as long as it gets your attention and pleases you.   Human affection is something I can never get enough of:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MU6SXCMLjg&feature=youtu.be I dream of trotting happily alongside you on our daily walks; snoozing with my head on your lap as you watch t.v., comforting you with my steadfast love.  If you adopt me I promise I will never be cross with you or ignore you or take you for granted. You can do all those things to me, but I will love you to the end of my days. Because that's what dogs do.  Please make me yours and let me love you for ever.     I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $500 CAD + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada.   **Vaccinations: Dogs from China are vaccinated for rabies, distemper, parainfluenza, hepatitis, parvovirus. MONA - pending adoption

Maltese

Due to current travel restrictions related to Covid19 there may be a delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are prepared to wait.   Helloooooo, anybody out there? Are you looking for me? Tell me you've been waiting for a sweet 2-year-old, 13lb combo of Maltese and Yorkie (that's a Morkie, don't you know) who goes by the name of Mona.  I am very glad you found me.  It's getting awfully old being at this crowded shelter here in Shanghai and I'd really like to get on with my proper life; the one where you and I get to spend tons of time together and I get lots of cuddles.  When the city workers found me outside on the streets I was cold and hungry. Even though it's a terrifying experience to be scooped up and whisked off to an unknown destination, it was better than being left to starve.  Now that I'm living at the shelter I have regular meals and a roof over my head, but I really don't get much human attention. It was quite a treat to get some cuddles by the shelter manager when they made my video. I would thrive in a home where I could have that kind of affection every day.  The other dogs around here are cool; some of the smaller ones have become my buddies; but to tell the truth, it's a bit too crowded and I'm more than ready to move on.  I got to enjoy a rare bit of peace and quiet when they brought me to the laundry room to take a video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP_T9ADWHSU&feature=youtu.be Then they put a cat in here with me. I didn't mind that at all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfC87H4e548&feature=youtu.be You know, it wouldn't take much on your part to change my life forever. Just fill out that adoption form then sit tight until this darn virus thing is under control. Once we're together we can put all this behind us and just focus on getting to know each other.  Doesn't that sound good?   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 + applicable taxes includes my airfare to Canada.
