About BRULIE

Brulie (Lucy)
Breed: Shepard mix
Age: 3 yrs
Gender: Fe, spayed
Wgt/Hgt: 68 lbs / 33 inches
Relations: Good dogs, kids / unknown cats
Activity Level: Moderate
Highlights: gentle, good on leash, mellow, great car traveler, loves cuddles

Hi ya’ll! I’m the very best girl you ever did meet! I am likely a German Shepherd & by appearances possibly Danish Broholmer cross with beautiful brown eyes, a long black tail and a very sweet disposition. https://youtu.be/MheOPeBANY0.

Like so many other dogs here in the Middle East I have a sad story to tell. Even though I am kind and gentle and only want to please, my awful owner abandoned me in an old building where I was eventually found - chained to the wall without food or water.

My poor little body was so skinny and weak https://youtu.be/sj2L5JO484M , but I still managed to wag my tail when I saw an angel rescuer appear. She took me to the vet for much needed care, and then took me home to live with her and her other dogs. https://youtu.be/Lqzf_uO534Q. She fed me, cared for me, loved me and look at me now! https://youtu.be/ah2J7BK9jCE. I’m such a beautiful, healthy, happy girl ready to find her forever home!

Even though I don’t like to talk too much about myself, I want to let you know that I have plenty of energy and love to play with people and other dogs https://youtu.be/2eGr5nV8KKM. I love to go on walks and my foster mom, who says I am good at leash walking.

Occasionally she takes me for a run which I really love! Unfortunately though, running outside is not easy to do where I live. Maybe one day I’ll get to come to Canada where I have a yard and can stretch my legs every day!

As you can see in one of my pictures, I’m very good in the car. Also good on a leash and I’m good when I go to visit the vet (even though it’s a little scary.) Wow. I guess I’m good at lots of things!

My favorite thing though is to get attention. I love cuddling and pats on my belly.

I would do great in a home where I got lots of love, regular exercise and routine feeding. Due to that awful starvation time, I have to eat at regularly scheduled times or else my blood sugar goes down. If you have another dog I could play with, that would be fun!

Here I am being sensitive, not crowding in on a scared little girl.  https://youtu.be/d0Aks6yAzaAhttps://youtu.be/jLqm1EY_e1Q.

I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.

My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.

Hi, my name is Adair. I am a little 4 month old, female kitty of not even 3-1/2 lbs yet. My rescuers mom found me and my 2 siblings. We were discovered in a bag in the trash here in the Middle East. Can you believe someone would so cold heartedly toss us away to die like that? My brother Archie is also listed on LAL's site. I am a very kind, but shy kitty. I am good with dogs and other kitties.   I am not yet neutered, as I am too young, but I am vaccinated and microchipped. This is the application that you should use if you are looking to apply to foster a dog AND ARE NOT planning to adopt.  Foster homes are one of the most important parts of any dog rescue. Without these homes, we wouldn't be able to rescue as many dogs as we do.  If you are looking to make a difference in a dogs life for a short period of time, please apply now.  What is fostering? Fostering is agreeing to take a dog into your home, temporarily, while the rescue is receiving and reviewing applications for adoption.   What does it cost? As a foster home, we can provide you with food, collar, leash. We will also cover any vet bills, but please speak to your foster coordinator before taking the dog to the vet unless its an emergency What if I can only foster a small dog? We will work with the limitations of our foster homes. If you are asked to foster a dog that is too big, please just let us know and we will look for another home.  What if I only want to foster a puppy? Puppies are usually very easy to adopt and often don't need fostering. Please consider an older dog that could be even more fun! What if I want to adopt? If your intent is to adopt a dog, you will need to submit an adoption application for review.  I only want to foster a specific dog. If you want a specific dog and only that dog, we recommend that you apply to adopt. International dogs are not normally available for fostering as we try to only bring them here if an approved adopter has been found. We really need more foster homes and appreciate you reading this posting. I hope that you consider opening your heart and your home to help a dog in need. The love and care that you can provide for even a short period, will make a huge difference in the life of a dog. I am Alexi. If you're in the Seattle / greater Seattle area, please keep reading! If you have a big heart and love cuddles, I could be the one for you!  I am a cute terrier mix and maybe Berger Picard (around 10kg and 3.5 years old) and if you take a look into my deep brown eyes and my large muppet ears, you might quickly fall in love. We are looking to keep me in the Seattle / North Seattle area, as I'm really bonded to my foster Mom, and would need a somewhat slow transition. Also, you could think of adopting me as possibly a part time share, my foster Mom would like to stay in my life, help out and dog sit, if that would be okay with you. Feel free to reach out for more information if you're truly interested, and you can chat with my current Mama. You can contact us through this rescue group or even send my foster Mom a message on my Instagram account - info below. I was found by some kind people in an abandoned building, paralyzed in all four of my limbs. - Trust me, I'm a survivor!  The good news - I am now in a loving foster home, just North of Seattle, and have had an MRI. My c5-c6 is injured, which has caused paralysis in my four limbs. My foster mama has done a tremendous amount of work with me to make me stronger.  At this point I can not sit, stand or walk by myself and my bladder gets expressed about 4 times a day. I don't wear diapers, and I have a normal 2x daily bowel movement. I'm one of the few paralyzed dogs that doesn't need to wear diapers! Since the time I've been in foster care, my whole body has become stronger. Six months after I arrived here, my back legs started to "wake up," it was amazing! I now go on daily walks / tows in my cart (see my videos, or check out my IG account). Once my cart starts to get pulled in a forward motion, my rear legs follow. Currently I walk 1/4-1/2 a mile daily, sometimes more! I can't steer very well, because of my injury I tend to go left quite often. I move my front shoulders, but my front paws haven't woke up yet, but they are getting stronger. My days consist of cart walks, park visits, exercises, cuddles and snoozing. Once I get my walk, I'm usually ready for cuddles and a nap. I LOVE to take naps with my human.  You may follow along my adventures here, which I now share with my foster sibling who was also rescued from this organization: https://www.instagram.com/rescuedgypsy/ People have started a go fund me page.  http://www.gofundme.com/help-alexi   I also now have an Amazon.com wish list of my very own! https://amzn.to/2I3kT9v   I always so excited to go outside, and enjoy the fresh air! Sometimes that is in my cart, or my special backpack. Every time my human comes to give me love I do the wiggles and sometimes I sing to her. I know it will take a special person to give me a forever home, but I believe this world is full of special people. I already found one of them and she's my foster mom. If dreams come true, my next special person is reading this right now and lives close to my foster family! I'd love a family who has a nice doggy friend for me, and someone who is home often. I like to be around my humans, in the same room, and outside on adventures. My forever human should be physically fit and will continue my care. If you live near me, my current Mama will go through my routines with you, including my favorite places to visit.  I live with two cats, sometimes I'm not bothered by them, but sometimes I growl and bark (can you blame me, I am part terrier). I've met some children and do great sometimes. A few times I've barked and growled. But I've walked through a crowd of children, and I did great. I do think I'd prefer a home without small children, and any older children need to be kind, gentle and patient. Once I know you, and you sit and give me treats for a couple of minutes I earn your trust. When I'm out on my walks in my cart, I very rarely bark, though I will do a high pitch happy bark when I see a dog that peeks my interest! I would thrive to be in a home with another gentle and playful dog. Having another loving dog around really has helped my motivation and my happiness. I am also not neutered and for now need to stay that way. I need my hormones to help me get stronger.  I know it will take a special person to give me a forever home, but I believe you are out there somewhere and when we find each other both our lives will grow bigger with love. Check out some of my videos! https://youtu.be/b7q11RBf34w https://youtu.be/fyHxK46lYus https://youtu.be/BTeiM69_0Mc https://youtu.be/Tk-eEaSbTSo https://youtu.be/hFDEZ-8785Q https://youtu.be/EKcn71KzIBU https://youtu.be/sLwFCahPLWw https://youtu.be/H97s9_hU6RM I have been vaccinated and micro chipped. My adoption fee is $300.    Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Hiya world my name is Alfie. I am a 4 month old Shepherd/Labrador mix from Kuwait and if you know anything about puppies you'll know we are made of best friend material. As you can tell I will definitely grow into quite a stunner. At 11lbs I'm a small boy now but Ill grow up to be big and strong soon enough. My mom told me one day I might get lucky enough to find an amazing family who wants to love me and I just know someone is out there waiting for a new pal.   Even though I am still a baby things haven't really been great but I must be pretty lucky to be here to tell you about it today. My story begins with my mom, Topaz and 7 other siblings trying to survive the excruciating heat as strays living on the oil field work sites. Finding shelter, my mom cared for us underneath one of the offices on the land. The Kuwaiti authorities consider stray dogs pests and are poisoning us en masse, so it was not a safe place for my family to be. My mom kept a low profile and managed to stay under the radar in time for us to be taken to a rescue. Though we were able to escape the dangers of the oil field it still came at a cost as 3 of my siblings passed away. Things are really starting to look up these days though! No more worries of danger and being hungry anymore it is just fun times and chasing tennis balls!   Appearance wise I already have the perfect pup look down with my glittery eyes and fluffy ears but I'm a full package deal. I love being around people,  especially when they give me attention and cuddles. In exchange for scratches I would be happy to give you lots of puppy kisses! Did I mention I get along with other dogs too? Maybe it is because I'm from a big family, but who doesn't love to chase and romp around with other doggos in the dirt. Even though I am a puppy you might be surprised to know I am not much of a barker in fact I prefer to communicate with my heart and show you my love in other ways. I may not have had many life experiences yet, but I do know I like car rides. Being a spry young puppy I have a fresh brain eager to learn any new tricks and skills you teach me. At the moment I am learning my leash manners. I don't quite have potty training down, but how hard could it be? With treats and encouragement the sky is the limit.   I would do great living in a family home as I love people. It sure would be lovely if I could have another dog to play with but I would be just as happy with some fun trips to the dog park or the beach. As a pup with a medium energy I could fit in pretty much anywhere, including on the couch next to you. Though I'm great with people, kids and other dogs I have never really met these cats people seem to mention so a house without them would be best. All in all Im just a kind soul looking for my spot in the world.   I am too young to be neutered, but I am vaccinated and microchipped and may adoption fee of $600 includes my airfare to Canada. The only nuttiness I have right now, is going nutty wanting to get out of here. I am Almond (Ava), a 3 year old female, Vizla & Shepard mix. I weigh in at 60 lbs and stand 31-1/2 inches tall on my elegant looking legs. I am a sociable girl. https://youtu.be/vsHjsdrL2mw My rescuers found me at the side of the road in the Middle East with an injured leg when I was about 1 year old. See my video of me being found - https://youtu.be/rg1j9Z4W1WU. They took me to the vet clinic, but my leg was too badly damaged and had atrophied. The doctors determined it best to amputate.  I am super nice with dogs, people and kids too (photos in the works.) I am unfamiliar with those critters called cats, however. My best friend Gray got adopted recently and I miss him. I really want freedom from being behind a fence for 2 years, just like he has attained. https://youtu.be/ZHwZV6PAIxw Anytime I am taken out on a walk, I love it. You can see by my main video, being a tripaw doesn't slow me down a bit. I like to roll on the grass and run like a champion horse.  A sweet girl like me needs to be with a family. Please, I am begging for my freedom. Tell me you are the one for me. A moderate activity home would be super. Preferably one with another dog to pal around with as my new buddy.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $450.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.    Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. All I wanna hear from my rescuers is you are anya way to Canada. Get it... Anya is my name. I am a 2 year old female, Boxer and Lab mix at best guess. My weight is 38 lbs and I am about 19-1/2 inches tall. I am a very playful girl with a wonderful personality. My story occurs in the Middle East when I was 8 months old. I was found searching through trash bins for food on a heavily trafficked street. A good samaritan spotted me. As she approached me, I was spooked and tried to run away, so it took a while for me to trust her. She brought me to safety and to a vet for an exam and vaccinations. Now I live in a boarding facility. I absolutely ADORE humans and love to give kisses and hugs. I am a tremendous people pleaser. In fact, I am pretty easy to please myself. Love me up and let me play, I'm happy. I love interacting and playing with other dogs too. I have not been exposed to cats yet though, (but children are great fun.) My energy level is pretty high, so an active home would be best. (Maybe with a house full of kids.) I would love other dogs to play with, but would also do well as the only dog in the family. I am just a real social butterfly. Playing, running around, loving up everyone in sight is my dream life. Will you be the one who makes that dream come true?   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. My name is Apollo and I am a happy dog, about one year old.   Born here in Bahrain, I look like a Shepherd/Saluki mix and I am about 27” tall and weigh 55 lbs. I was originally found out in the hot desert when I was two weeks old. A kind family took me home and when I was two months old they brought me to the shelter. Here I get to play with lots of other dogs who are waiting for forever homes too! I’m very laid back and just love to chill out and get belly rubs and cuddles from people, though I also love going for walks and am very good on leash. Check out my video to see how much fun I can have with water. If you live near a lake or beach I bet you and I would have a great time splashing around together.   Playful and easy going are the way the shelter staff describe me. Surely that is the kind of dog you've been looking for, isn't it? I get on well with people and dogs so wouldn't mind sharing my home with another pooch or it could be just you and me. Whatever floats your boat is okey-dokey as far as I'm concerned. Life's too short to worry about stuff; let's just be happy. I’m looking for a loving home where I can revel in the human attention I adore.  You will get plenty of love coming your way if you bring me home and I'm told that if you apply soon there's a chance I could be flying your way in September.  Woo-hoo, that's just round the corner. Sniff sniff, sniff sniff... Mmmm, it's Bacoooon. Guess what's cooking baby - me, Bacon. I'm a sizzling hot pup looking for a home. At just over 1-1/2 years old, I am a male mixture of possibly German Shepard. & Beauceron. My weight is about 77 lbs and I stand about 27-1/2 inches tall. I warm up quickly to loving kindness, so I bet we'd go together like, well bacon & eggs. I was found on the streets of a city in the Middle East. If my kind saviour had not come along when they did, I would not be alive to tell my story today. Somebody who does not deserve to be called human, was trying to hang me. It is hard to even think about it. I have to admit that my experience at the hands of that monster has left me a little fearful of strangers upon first meeting them. But, like most dogs, I am eager for human affection and if you show friendliness towards me, it usually doesn't take me too long to come around. I long to have human companionship, so we can build our love and trust in one another and become best friends forever. Right now, I am living in a shelter where I get to enjoy playing with lots of other dogs. But the best thing in the world would be to have a home of my own, where I could feel loved and safe. Somewhere I could finally discover the joy of bonding. If your heart has room for me, I'm sure we could squeeze together on the couch for snuggles. Hey, maybe I should be called sausage, then we could be pigs in a blanket together. Getting hungry for me, making these food references? A moderately active, but mellow home would be best for me. I have not had any chance to be around kids or cats. I need a home that will have patience to allow me the time to come out of my shell and adjust to all the wonders of a new world. A young pup like me has so much to learn and so much to give. All I need is the right person. A chef to add the right spice to our relationship?   I am neutered, *vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $550 CAD. This includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Look for the bare necessities... forget about your worries and your strife... I'm Baloo, a male, German Shepard/Golden Retriever with a sprinkling of regional mideastern shepard mixed in. I would love to put all my struggles behind me by getting to a home in Canada. I am just a big ol' 2 year old snuggly bear. I currently weigh about 50 lbs. I stand 29-1/2 inches tall. I am an extremely sweet fellow. I was hit by a car on a rural mountain road in the Middle East and fell into an empty pool. I had broken bones and completely shattering my vertebrae. Due to the severe injury, it was the vet's opinion that I should be euthanized. However, my rescuers decided to pursue the medical options available. I went through extensive surgery and fortunately, I have recovered and started walking. https://youtu.be/HvRIG5loZxQ, https://youtu.be/dj65zowdQRs. See my progression https://youtu.be/wJXXc4KHF4g. I have finished my therapy now and you can see how well I am doing in my main video. They say due to early treatment I received, I should do well now and have a happy life. Ok, I may still move just a little funny, but rest assured I am healthy and ready to come to Canada. Being a shy dog, I used to urinate when seeing strangers, but I have gained confidence and and haven't had any accidents for a while now. Once I am used to you, I am quite friendly. I am also incredibly smart. I tend to be afraid of sticks or any long items that look like a stick, but if you show you will protect me by getting between that object and me, I will feel safer. Obviously my fear of someone hitting me is great. Loving-kindness and time will help me overcome this fear. I am good with children https://youtu.be/eA2hqQsCitk. Also, I am fine with other dogs. Though I have not been tested with cats, they feel my personality would allow for getting along with them. I now live in a boarding kennel, but my rescuers are really keen to get me to a better place as soon as possible, so I don't have to go to a mass shelter. Will you be my guardian angel and help me throughly recover - this includes the mental and emotional side too? I will become your dearest buddy. The time we will spend together working through this will create an everlasting bond between us. Check my latest video - main one... Oliver is in the house... did someone say playtime? And here is another most recent: https://youtu.be/5kX7R6e-HSM. My movement is getting stronger and smoother with each passing day. Hello from Bahrain.  My name is Bambi, just like the disney character. Maybe its my big ol' doe eyes or the fact that I am such a deer, I mean dear!  I am still a youngster at just a year old. I weigh 61lbs and am a long-legged 25 inches tall. As for breed… well I don't actually know what I am but they guess I might be a Saluki/Retriever mix. I can clearly remember the day I was rescued.  I was still a small puppy wandering alone, when someone spotted me and plucked me off the streets. Where I was living at the time was considered a very dangerous place for a little pup.   Now I am staying at a centre for rescues like me, but I would much prefer to be living with you.   If fun filled and energetic are qualities you are looking for then here I am! My rescuers say I am full of life and why not when every day is more exciting than the next. My perfect date would be going for a nice long walk by the beach or through the forest. A game of fetch would be an awesome way to spend the day too. Besides being a great hiking buddy I will also be your best friend; I am very friendly and affectionate and will bond to you in no time.  If you already have cats or dogs in your life, I am O.K with that. I share my space here with other dogs and easily mingle with the cats too. Being a young pup I am eager to learn all sorts of new stuff so training me should be a breeze. Lets make it fun though and have a couple of games in between training. Life is always more fun when play is involved, don't you agree?   My ideal home would be with people who enjoy an active lifestyle and want an energetic dog to keep up with them.  What are you doing sitting on the couch? Let's get out there and live life to the max!   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 CAD included my airfare to Canada. Hello.  They call me Banana.  Don't ask me why a scruffy, but cute little terrier mix from Shanghai is named Banana, but I really don't mind as long as it catches your attention.  I am only 8 months old, 17lb and 15 inches tall - just the right size to hop in a crate and fly to Canada to be with you! My mom was a stray who was picked up and brought to the shelter when she was already pregnant. So I was born here!  Maybe that's why it feels kind of like home, even though I have a feeling my real home is waiting for me out there.   There are plenty of other dogs here so I'm never short of playmates, but I could sure do with a little more time being scratched and cuddled by the humans.  The trouble is there aren't enough of them to go round because we all want their attention. Do you think I might be able to have a little more of that if I come to live with you? That would make me happy. Since I haven't met cats or children I have no idea if I would like them or not. All I know is that I have my whole life ahead of me and I want to spend it in a real home with my own people.  Please help me make my dream come true.   I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $600 includes my airfare to Canada. Hi, it's me, a playful and perky poodle from Shanghai. I go by the name of BenBen, but I really don't mind what you call me just as long as you call me yours. I am around one year old, weigh 15lb and measure 14 inches to my shoulders. I'm a fairly recent arrival to the Shanghai shelter, having been picked up as part of the routine round up of stray dogs that the authorities regularly undertake. If we don't have any I.D, and most of us don't, then we are sent to the shelter where it can take forever to find a home. For some of my friends here it may never happen. But I have a feeling I will be one of the lucky ones and get out of here soon. I think one of you lovely people will find it hard to resist my happy-go-lucky nature and puppy playfulness. I know my curly coat has a couple of bald patches on it but I hope you'll overlook that. I try not to dwell on it myself, but somebody poured boiling water on me, so the skin there is scarred and we don't know if my fur will grow back. It's just on my side and leg though, so I like to think it doesn't detract from my good looks.  Anyway, I want you to love me for what's inside, just the way I'm going to love you. If I am very lucky I will find a home where I can spend lots of time playing and getting cuddles. I'd enjoy sharing a home with another dog, or just going for doggy play dates sometimes.  And I think I'd like to be part of a family so there are even more people to love. If there is only one of you, don't worry, we'll just have double the amount of loving to share with each other. I don't have any baggage so it won't take me any time to pack. I can be with you as soon as you say the words. Go on, say it.... say " I want to adopt  BenBen".   I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. Bluebell, the perfect name. Spring is in the air, hope abounds for a renewal of life for me. I am a female, Spanish Greyhound and German Shepard mix of 3 years old, weighing 55 lbs and a height of 34 inches. My rescuer says that I’m a very mellow dog, calm and quiet. Where I live in the Middle East, I got into a tussle with a street dog who scared me so much, that I ran into traffic and was hit by a car. Injured badly, a wonderful lady picked me up and brought me to a vet right away. I had surgery on one of my front legs. The other front leg had no feeling. The surgeon decided it was best to amputate that leg in order to prevent future problems with it. Thanks to being in a caring foster home, I’ve learned to trust. I still have some work to go in that regard. Like, I am still a bit afraid of strange people in the street and will bark at them, but as soon as you tell me "no", I stop. My foster has a number of dogs to care for, so it is hard for her to devote the time to fully help me on that. I know my forever home will be able to help me through that hump though. I can have a tad of a stubborn streak sometimes. They say that is a trait of us smart dogs. Here's some exciting news! I am house trained and never have accidents at home. I’ll let you know if I need to go outside by indicating my need at the door with a moan or tremble. Although, when I get excited about seeing people I love, in my enthusiasm, it is possible I may piddle just a bit. I can be alone at home without issues, no chewing or barking, etc... More good news, I am good with both big & small dogs, cats and kids too. https://youtu.be/p7CwzsupAH0, https://youtu.be/pKLh1rwBfNs, https://youtu.be/X-QF3Ge4G2k. In fact, I’ve been fostered with a cat before and showed no interest too. That’s the best way to be with cats, because the other dogs tell me if you bug them, they might hit you with a claw to the nose! I have chased them outdoors, but never hurt one. I may only have 3 legs, but still move around pretty well. So a moderate level activity home would be good. I enjoy being out and can run and go up and down on the hills even. Though much of the time, you will just see me lounging around otherwise. Some vids of me:  https://youtu.be/9oRSN_u0xNo https://youtu.be/3-YAs_7Vq0Y https://youtu.be/yaDSQEB1J4c   I have been spayed, vaccinated & micro-chipped. Hello, I am already here in Canada and dying to meet you!  My name is Bogey (Jack), and I am a loveable 1 yr old Anatolian Shepherd/Spanish Greyhound mix. I'm a tall, but lean boy currently weighing ~77 lbs and measuring 33 inches to my shoulders.  I was found, along with my sibliings, Alyssa & Blaise, on the streets in the Middle East; definitely not a safe place to be for any dog. My Mom did a good job keeping us safe and well away from people, so it took a while before our rescuer was finally able to catch us all.   Once she did she took mom to be spayed and then we were placed in a foster home. I finally found an adopter and recently came to Canada. While they quickly fell in love with me, their highly social home life was not ideal for me. While I love people, all the commotion stressed me and I gave a little nip on the hand to a stranger who reached out to me. Nothing serious, but clearly a sign that I felt anxious.  There are things to know about where I came from. Please indulge me to explain. The shelter I came from has few workers and does not get visitors, as many shelters do. So I never received exposure to kind hands and encouragement to interact. We are well cared for and secure, I know nothing about daily life activity and noises in the North American culture. I only know the group of dogs I was raised with and the few workers. I need a very slow exposure over many weeks to public life and other dogs. And life in general. I wasn't afforded this luxury in my previous home,  so my time there was short. So, I am looking for a quieter environment, at least until I feel more comfortable. So now I am in a foster in Langley and I feel much better already. There are other dogs for me to play with and lots of space for us to run around. You can come and meet me here any time. Despite still being a youngster I am proud to say I am fully house-trained, great on leash and can tolerate confident cats - there was one at my  home who quickly showed me she's the boss!  When it comes to other dogs, I enjoy dogs of all sizes. I like going to the dog park, though like a typical adolescent, I do have a tendency to sometimes play enthusiastically. I can happily share my home with another dog, so if you already have one, that's just fine and dandy. It would be just perfect if I could find a quiet home with someone who has lots of shoes. You see, I have a thing for shoes - I like to pile them up on my bed and admire them.  Don't worry, you can still wear them because I don't chew them. It's just a little quirk I have. If you are looking for a loving and fairly active dog who enjoys shoes, playtime and walks in the park, then pick me. I'm ready and waiting to meet you.   Another vid: https://youtu.be/zlAiLk0jjRY. I have been neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Howdy!  I am Boomer, your bubbly new friend from South Korea.  At 10 months old I am still full of puppy bounce and I can't wait to get started in my new life with you. I weigh 26lb, I'm 15 inches tall and we think I am a mix of Airdale Terrier and Jindo.   Until recently I had only known life in a shelter. I was brought there as a new born pup when my momma was found on the streets, so basically I was raised in the shelter.  As a result I am very comfortable around lots of dogs and strange people.  When the shelter became too crowded I was placed on the euthanasia list. That's when the wonderful rescuers stepped in and took me to the foster home where I live now.  I am really enjoying it here.  Now I get to run around a lot more with my other doggy friend and our human guardians. I do love to run and play and explore so I hope my future home will give me lots of opportunity to do those things. Maybe there's a dog park where we can go to meet other dogs and burn off some of my puppy energy.  Now that I've discoverd how good it feels to have a person around all the time I really don't ever want her to leave so I do have a little cry and bark when she goes out. Once I feel confident my person will come back I'll be better but I don't want any more of those lonely nights like I had at the shelter. Life is too full of fun and promise to spend it alone, don't you agree? Let's get together very soon so you and I can enjoy the fall days ahead. You can take me on some lovely walks around the neighbourhood and I can get to know all your friends and neighbours. I just love meeting new people and dogs so we'll have to allow lots of extra time for greetings.  We're going to have such a great life together, you and me.     I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $600 includes my airfare to Canada. Hello, my name is Bowser, and am I glad to be talking to you. I nearly didn't make it, you know; I was on "The List" at the Shanghai city pound.  I am a 3 year old male Blue Heeler mix of 33lb and 20'" at the shoulders.  Things have not been so good for me lately. I was abandoned by my owners and left to wander the streets and try to survive on scraps of food while avoiding the crazy traffic and hostile people.   When they loaded me into a van I hoped I might be going somewhere safe. Not so.  It was a high-kill pound. But I'll spare you the details. All you need to know is that now I am safe and staying in a large shelter in Shanghai while I pray that someone will adopt me. I must admit that I am still adjusting to this overwhelming environment and you can probably tell by my sad expression that it is all a bit daunting. There are dogs galore, and while I get along with other dogs just fine, it would be so much better if there were just one or two of us in a home.  I am the kind of dog that would probably enjoy a couple of half hour walks a day, along with some sniffing around the yard perhaps. But more important to me would be to have a home where I belong and people I could love.  Please can you get me out of this place soon?  I have been through so much already and I am hoping I haven't used up all my luck. Could you give me my biggest ever lucky break and say you will adopt me?   I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $500 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. Please review our adoption guidelines at http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca Disclaimer: In order to protect both dogs and children, the Board of Directors has decided that unless a representative of LALDR has personally met the dog, or has been satisfied by the international rescue of the dogs' ability to live with children, we will not approve a family for adoption. Specifically, we will not approve an adoption to a family with children age 8 or younger. We are hesitant to approve an adoption to a family with children under the age of 12, but will consider each application individually. Here I am being sensitive, not crowding in on a scared little girl.  https://youtu.be/d0Aks6yAzaA, https://youtu.be/jLqm1EY_e1Q. You see that sleek handsome black dog in the pictures, that is me, Buck (Middle East name: Blackie). Pleasure to meet you. As a young male dog of 1 year old, (though just a couple months shy of 2 now), I am a fairly big boy about 33 inches tall and I weigh 55 lbs now. I look to be a Black Lab. I am a smart and ready to find a family in Canada.  With that all said and done, I can let you in on my life story. Picture this, about a year and a half a ago in the midst of a cold, snowy winter somewhere in the Middle East, I was just a puppy abandoned in a box on the side of the street with 2 of my brothers. I was sick and our mother was nowhere in sight. Our doomed fate changed when our rescuer was visiting one of their clients at a concrete manufacturing plant. A warehouse keeper who had stumbled upon us showed us to them and after that the rest is history. They took us to the vet and while my brothers were healthy, I was diagnosed with Parvo Virus and was hospitalized.  When I was all healed and healthy I joined my brothers, where we have been living with our rescuer in their Villa. As grateful as I am for them, we agree it is about time I fly the coop and see the world for myself and find people who can give me the life I deserve. I am not much of an outside dog. I have had access to the outside all the time, so will need to be taught about letting you know when I have to go out. I have been going out for walks on a leash the past couple months. I have not gotten much exposure to these things until recently, so I am a bit timid outside of the home. Cars and strangers can be scary, but I just do not know any better. It would be nice to meet someone that can take the time and guide me through this scary world and show me that it is not so bad. As a young boy with a sharp wit and an eagerness to learn, I can pick up tricks and commands well. I know I can learn tons, so let us make it a hobby of ours! I am the kind of pup that really, really cares for their person. If I am the right one for you, I will be there for you though thick and thin. Because of this though, I would do best as a only dog. I can be a bit of a bully for attention. I have not met any cats in my day, so I do not know how I would act around them. Children are great and so are smaller dogs, but as I am a bit of a diva and like to keep the attention to myself. I guess I sound quirky, but if you stick with me like I promise, we can be the next dynamic duo! The ideal home for me would be of moderate, but mellow activity. One hopefully with a yard, as it would be nice to have a place where I can stretch my long, lanky legs. Living in a home with these creatures called “Children” would be fine with me, but I would thrive in a home as an only dog. I can be a bit dominating over bigger dogs, but I do not sweat the little dogs. My ideal family is one that can help me get over fears and just hold my paw to show me it is all right. I am here with an open heart that is made of gold, so let me show you how bright it will shine when you choose me to take home with you.   I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated & micro-chipped.   My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada. Hi! My name is Capt Jim (Jimmy) and I’m likely a Spitz and German Shepard mix from the Middle East. I’m a 3-1/2 year old boy and the shelter caregivers said that I am a very kind and lovely dog who is a bit timid and skittish. I weigh about 50 lbs and stand 27-1/2 inches tall.  I was found badly beaten up and run over by a car. It took time, but my rescuer rehabbed me. Now, I am fully physically recovered. I’m working very hard to overcome my fears, but it’s was tough to do that in the shelter. I’m not the bossy type. I’m more submissive and prefer to get along with everyone. I would do best as an only dog, as I don't like other dogs in my space. I love to be around children. I do tend to be hyper aware of men yet and any quick movements/loud sounds. I have not been around cats. Now I’m with a loving foster home, so I am learning trust again. Even though I was hurt when I was a puppy, all I want is someone to love me and treat me with kindness. As a puppy, I was very abused, so I become afraid when people talk loudly or shout. I need to feel safe with someone who will never become angry with me.  I enjoy walking on a leash and have learned some basic commands. Here is a vid of me with a buddy of mine: https://youtu.be/ceA0jx-RaEg.  They say that I’m pretty smart! I love learning new things. I would do best with a reward based training program. I am nearly housetrained now. I have had sone accidents, likely due to my insecurity yet. I am not one prone to barking and I walk well on leash. My perfect home will be with kind and quiet people. Probably a medium activity level home would be about right. I’d do great with older kids. I’d love a big yard to play in and lots of cuddle time. I love walks and I sure would enjoy learning more commands. Do you think you can make me feel safe again? Will you be patient with me as I learn new things like playing and to trust? I know the right person will see this and take me home. Cute little me is at the end of this video: https://youtu.be/DZuKaydNH6M. Are you one of those people who loves the scruffy terrier types?  You are? That's fantastic, because that's exactly what I am, a 2 1/2 year old white Terrier mix boy from Korea, who goes by the name of Casey (or Klasse, here in Korea).  I'm a good size too; not too big and not too small at 29lb and 15 inches tall. What's more, I am a quiet and gentle boy.  The city workers found me wandering the streets in winter. I was relieved at first when I was taken to the pound because it was warm and dry and I was given food to eat. Sadly, the city pound quickly becomes overcrowded and I was put on the euthanasia list.  That's when the good people from a local rescue group stepped in and now I am in their safe hands until I am adopted. Just so you know, the vet here has been treating a spot of mange on one of my ears, but I am told it will be cleared up pretty soon and I'll be back to my usual handsome self before you know it. You probably wouldn't even notice it in my photo's, but I thought I should let you know I'm not perfect. I am the kind of dog who forms a strong bond to my caretaker, so I hope you are prepared for some adoration if you adopt me! It takes me a little time to feel comfortable with new people and new situations, so please understand if I am a little shy when we first meet.  Despite my initial nervousness I am very gentle with both people and dogs and I could easily share a home with another dog if you'd like me to. My energy level is moderate, I would say.  I really do enjoy being out in nature, smelling everything along the way and going for walks with my person. I think I would like a quiet home as I am, by nature, a quiet dog too.  Maybe you and I are the kind of mellow types who would suit each other and be the trusted companion each other has been seeking.  Generally I like to take my time before making big decisions about my future, but in this case, I can tell...... you get me.  So, the answer is, yes please, I'd very much like to come home with you.    I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. Hello, Casha here. I am a pretty, 2 year old, female Labrador Retriever/Australian Cattle Dog mix (best guess!) I can be quite the lovey, dovey pup, even at around 80 lbs. I was born on the streets of a big city in the Middle East and when I was just a wee puppy, I was hit by a car. My back leg was run over and crushed, so now I am a card carrying member of the tri-paw club. Even though I was in terrible pain when my rescuer found me, I couldn't stop kissing her when she lovingly scooped me off the ground; I was so happy to be rescued. After a bit if time at a shelter, fortune smiled and I was brought to Canada where I am now living in a foster home with another big dog whom I love. Though I can come on strong when I first meet new dogs, with proper introductions I get along well with them (unless they're the iddy-biddy kind) and I would really like to share my future home with another medium to large dog.  Something I find very exciting is small, furrry creatures that run. I really like to chase them so I should definitely not live in a home with little dogs, cats or squirrels!  When we go for walks my foster mom makes sure to steer clear of the squirrelly areas because even though I only have 3 legs I can sure run when I want to!  Other than when I'm in chase mode, I don't really need a lot of activity. Long walks are not high on my list of priorities, but I do love to spend time outdoors lounging on the deck in the sunshine. I could happily while away the day out there.  I hope my future home has a yard or patio where I could hang out.  An apartment just wouldn't work for me, not least of all because I can be a bit of a talker. Mind you, I quickly learned to stop barking once my foster mom introduced me to that citronella collar - yuck!  A few whiffs of that and I decided to stick to body-language.  I find most humans soon learn what I want when I roll on my back and give them my best " aren't I loveable" look. My wonderful foster mom has really taken a shine to me (I have that effect on people) and I have enjoyed entertaining her with my mischievous nature and energetic playfulness. I have a cute curiosity too.  Check my video https://youtu.be/7qhg4OhemJI    People are definitely my favourite beings and my foster mom will tell you I am an extremely loving girl who adores belly rubs and cuddles. So now you know all about me, let's get together. I am right here in Abbotsford so we could easily hang out and get to know each other. I'll be waiting ......      I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Hi everybody.  I am dying to meet you in person but for now we'll have to make do with this site and a few photo's.  My name is Cato and I am coming to you all the way from India. That's right, I was born here just 3 months ago - my birthday is June 15th in case you want to make a note of that. (Can we have a birthday party next year?).  Right now I'm a wee little thing - just about 7lb.  I will likely be a medium sized dog like my mom and we really don't know what breed I am so let's go with Mixed Breed, shall we. That's really the best type anyway. You can see mom in the photo with me. She's still got a bad case of mange - a skin infection common to stray dogs - but it's getting better with treatment.   Me and my siblings also had mange when we were born but now I am all better and I'm feeling grrrrreat! I have only known life at this foster home so I can't even picture what a place like Canada is all about. Bet it's fun though.  Do you have other dogs there I could play with? I love to play.  I love to get attention from humans too, so I really hope that happens in my new home.  If you are looking for a friendly little guy to light up your life and make you smile every day, then please bring me home with you. I am just so excited at the thought of living with my very own human family. If you adopt me soon I could get on a plane in early October and you could show me what it's like to experience fall in Canada.   I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee of $600 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. Hello kind people. I have gone through so much, my rescuers are calling me Champion (Persian name Ghahraman.) I am a female Saluki and Shepard mix of just over 2 years old. My weight is currently 60 lbs and I stand nearly 28 inches high.. I am just a sweet, sweet girl. I was found outside of a major city in the Middle East. A rescue group were feeding stray dogs there. I came close to a lady feeding us, but because my jaw was broken I couldn’t eat anything. I wanted to, I was so hungry. This person saw I was in so much pain and looking for a kind touch to calm that pain.  My jaw was broken by a car accident for at least a couple of weeks. I couldn't eat that whole time and had lost a great deal of weight. My mouth was bleeding and was dislocated due to the broken jaw.https://youtu.be/Hv0QJe1po-g. The rescuers had to share my video to raise funds for the vet to start my treatment.  Look now though, I am fully healed and ready for a family of my own. Just look at my awesome recovery, see my main video. You can see I had to have a tube connected on my face for at least a couple months so my jaw could heal completely. The vet said there was an old injury on the jaw too, broken/crushed small pieces of bone in my jaw and an old infection. So they did a bone marrow transplant from my leg to the jaw for a faster recovery.  I had to eat soft food hand fed until fully recovered though. https://youtu.be/p8KZZLZv9IE. I also couldn't be with my doggie friends for a while, as I had to be careful with the jaw tubes that were installed, making me look like Robodog. https://youtu.be/upRP_sY2FbU. I am good with other dogs though. Here, they removed the tubes from my face.  https://youtu.be/V1fGFrb98AQ. I didn't understand all of this, but I felt better being out of pain and having them put food into my tummy. I can finally eat on my own & was I hungry. But as hungry as I was, see how gentle I was eating food from the staff's hand https://youtu.be/3-xRFTeZntg. I am a bit timid yet, but with love and time, that will diminish. I am a girl who likes gentle snuggles. I am friendly and calm. I would like a moderate level activity home, because now that I am healed, I should regain my active again being such a young dog.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is 550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.    Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Cheesecake Breed: Schnauzer/Yorkshire Terrier Mix Age: 2 years old Wgt/Hgt: 13 lbs / 13.5" tall Relations: good dogs / unknown cats, kids Activity level: Moderate Highlights: Cuddly, extremely friendly, playful, Hi there, my name is Cheesecake. The name comes from my sweet demeanor. I am a cuddly and loving 2 year old female Schnauzer and Yorkie mix. I was found in a very scary place in the Middle East, kept in a small cage where I was going to be used for breeding. Luckily my nice rescuer was able to take me to safety. Now that I know I am safe while staying with my nice caretakers, I am ready to find my forever family. My caretakers say that I am extremely friendly with people and dogs of all kinds. They often comment on my cuddling skills; they say I will sit on your lap right when you sit down. Being quite playful is something I am known for and playing with my toys brings me great amusement. I would love a family of my own to love on, and I know I'd make a wonderful lapdog to cuddle and pet all afternoon. I'm not sure how I would react with young children or cats, as I have not been around either. Living in a home where there is someone who could spend time with me and isn't gone for long periods of time would be best. I'd be so happy to find someone that would cuddle with me while they watch TV or read a book. A home with moderate activity is what I am looking for and would love to go on walks around the neighborhood or to the local park. I'm looking forward to starting a new life and am sure to bring lots of love and cuddles into my new home! I have been spayed. *vaccinated & micro-chipped. We had to amputate the rest of his tail very short, and he was not able to walk with his back legs in the beginning. With lots of love and physiotherapy twice a day though, he began to get stronger and stronger! Now he walks and runs like any other dog! He is super affectionate towards people and just wants to snuggle. He is alright with other dogs, and gets along with most except for other confident males. He needs to be the big guy on campus ;) He will be great in a house with older children, and would prefer a home without cats. He has a funny little dance that he does when he gets excited, and really wants nothing more than to be with his people. He is a volunteer favorite! My name is Chilly Willy. Primarily because I am a pretty chill little guy. I am about 4 years old and weigh 12 lbs and stand almost 16 inches tall. I look to be a Maltese, possibly Shih Tzu mix. I need a home to go to when I come on Aug 28th. I was a neglected pup (see how I was https://youtu.be/diKbmgrEsMM), who was dropped off at the park by my owner. It has made me despressed.  Why did they not want to love  me and receive my love? See how stunned I am. https://youtu.be/r6Oo_-602Wk A quiet boy who longs for a home of my own, I am a big time lap dog. I tend to get attached quickly. I have been following the rescuer around and grumbling at other dogs to stay away so can get all the attention. I once had a kidney stone that took two surgeries to remove. Ugh. Now I am healthy and ready for my forever family to find me.  I prefer to be the only dog in the house, due to the strong connection I make with my people, but I get along great with other dogs. I am good with kitties too. A home that is moderate in activity would probably suit my character. Taking walks will be fun, but I am just as happy to be snuggling on your lap. I love my chew shoe toy:  https://youtu.be/Qpdy2oxhchw  https://youtu.be/TbLqvOse8aA  I am winging my way to you soon. Hello wonderful world, it's me, Coco, your happy-go-lucky, let's have fun, pup.  I am  long-legged and lovely Black Lab mix of just over a year old.  I wiegh 60 lbs & stand 23 inches tall.   Born in the Middle East, I was just a few weeks old, abandoned and starving when some kids decided it would be fun to throw stones at my small, defenseless body. That could have been the end of my short life, but my cries were heard by someone who came to my rescue and brought me to safety. I was in a shelter for a while, where I regained my strength and with it, my enthusiasm for life. I became just like any young dog; I wrestled and played with my canine buddies; like a typical puppy I would be full of exhuberance one minute and then collapse into a deep sleep the next. After that, it was just more of the same. When a human would come along to give me attention I would immediately stop everything just to get some people-love. If I could have people-love in my life every day I would be a very, very happy dog. I finally came to Canada late last year and lived with a family here. I didn't get along with the other dog in the home though. Perhaps because I had so little control over what happened to me as a puppy, I decided it was my job to be the boss and that didn't go over too well.  The right home for me would be with someone who can show me that I am safe because they are the boss of me. That way I can relax and just enjoy being a young, playful dog.  It would probably be best for now to be the only dog in the home, though I do like to play with dogs outside, especially big dogs.  Now I'm living in a foster home in Vancouver and I am very happy. My foster parents say I am a smart and affectionate girl and they would love to tell you more about me. I have done well with obedience training and am leash-trained and house trained, but still need a bit of work with my recall. Since I have quite a bit of energy it would be nice if my future home had a yard where I could run around. Maybe you could help me learn some ball-retrieving skills out there!  If you have friends who want to come over and play ball with us, that would be cool. I love meeting new people and could happily spend lots of time soaking up their attention.  If you are looking for a loveable young dog with energy and spirit who is eager to learn and quick to bond, then come and meet me. I know we could become the best of friends.   I have been spayed, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD. Hi everyone…  I’m Cricket.  I’m a four year-old female Retriever/Jindo cross from Bali.   I weigh 37 pounds and stand 27 inches tall.  I’m really grateful that you’ve stopped to learn more about me.  I’m an extremely gentle, loving pup who has had a very difficult life.  My rescuers found me as a puppy abandoned in a trash can.  All I could do was make odd little sounds and so they decided to call me ‘Cricket’.  I was so happy to find a caring place to live and happily went home with my friends who seem to have opened their hearts to lots of unfortunate dogs here. Sadly, once in my new home I was attacked by a neighbour’s dog and almost died. I have a lot of scars from that attack – both emotional and physical. Since that horrible experience, I have become somewhat reclusive from other dogs.   I used to be extremely playful and social but now I tend to prefer to spend time with my people rather than with other dogs.  I admit that I sometimes pretend to be tough when other dogs come around and I growl at them to keep away,  but I don't ever attack them and I will even play with a few that I trust.   You only have to watch me being 'Silly Cricket' to realize I'm actually a bit of a softie. I really love going for a walk or run and playing chase with my people, even though sometimes my hips dislocate a bit. The vet says nothing can be done about that.  It’s a little uncomfortable at times but they always fix themselves and so I have learned to live with it.     The past few years I have been fortunate to live with the compassionate dog lovers who rescued me, but now they have to go back to Australia and can’t take me with them.  I worry what will become of me and I know they do too. We are all hopeful that you can see that I am a very loyal and gentle girl with lots of love to give. Please click on ‘Adopt’ below so that I can come and be your new best friend.    I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.  My adoption fee of $500 includes my airfare to Canada.        Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website,  http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/  and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.    Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Hello, I am Crouton,  a playful, energetic,  German Shepherd/Husky mix who is longing to be your next best friend.   I was born in October 2017 and I weigh in at 60 lbs.  I'm very svelte and because I have long beautiful legs I am quite tall.  Overall, I am one very handsome boy! I only got to live with my mom and siblings for 6 weeks before I was adopted by a lady with a kind heart.  But apartment living was not easy for an active boy like me so now I live with a foster family in Abbotsford.  I live with lots of doggy friends and we have a lot of fun walking along the rivers and romping in the house and yard.  I have been to puppy school where I learned some cool stuff such as sit, lie down, stay, and shake a paw.  I even walk really well on leash with help from my "Easy Walk" harness.  My foster mom says that I am really smart so she is taking me back to school to build on my skills.  I must say I am not very gentle when I am playing so I probably shouldn't be around young children.  Teens would be o.k.  I haven't been around a cat for a long time so I can't remember if I like them.  I do know that I love car rides, playing with a ball or frisbee and swimming.  I start to tremble with excitement when I know we are going to the beach. I really only have a couple of bad habits.  One of them is that I talk too much and too loudly when I want something or when I'm pestering a doggie friend to play with me.  The other is guarding my food.  I'm so scared that someone will take it from me.  Improvement is happening as I am learning to trust that I will have enough to eat.  I am a happy go lucky kind of guy and I'm looking forward to having a home and family and maybe a doggie friend for my very own.  So, if you would like to welcome a happy companion into your life, send in an application and then come and meet me in Abbotsford.    I'm still dreaming of the day that someone will look at me and say, that's Him!  That's the dog for me!   I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee is $550 CAD. Good day. I am Damon and I am a 4 year old, possibly Shepard mix. I suppose there could be a bit of a sighthound breed in me too. Weighing in at almost 73 lbs and around 35 inches tall, I am a very kind and quite friendly dog.  When I was found, my rescuers said it seemed like I was begging for help. I came near to them, showed my leg and sat down. The gentle look in my eyes, told them to take me. My front leg was cut at the the wrist and was severely swollen. This was how they found me: https://youtu.be/ZYag0q778Pc, https://youtu.be/qkNNAYKklZc. The vet amputated it, as it was developing an infection. It was awful. When my rescuers questioned people about my paw, they were told somebody cut it off as punishment for eating his hens. This sadistic evil doer wanted to shoot me dead, but decided to do this instead to make me feel severe pain. So, now I live as a tripaw, but it hasn't affected my sweet disposition. I long for closeness and give only love in return. https://youtu.be/A3Zm6F6S0BY I like very much to play. You won't find me feeling sorry for myself, no siree. I want to run around and have fun now that my leg is not an issue.  I have never been around kitties, but I am great with people. I am good with other dogs & kids too. https://youtu.be/zvlxDwHK6qs. A good home would be one who wants to play games with me, while respecting my limitations. Moderate activity would be good. Not a requirement. But I am on board if you have another dog to be buddies with too. I hope you have rooming your heart and home for a super sweet, loving boy like me. Another vid, https://youtu.be/LFYZvVwH2PM I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.    My adoption fee is $450.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.   Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. IN DANGER! Greetings sweet people. I am Delroba, a 6 month old German Shepard and Anatolian mix. My current weight is about 33 lbs and I stand around 21 inches tall. I may likely grow to be about 55 lbs. I am a kind and happy girl. My Persian name means enchanting and captivating or literally "hijacker of the heart." Me and my 3 sisters (Marshmallow is also listed) were rescued when we were about 3 weeks old. We were found in a bag in the Middle Eastern desert. What a horrible way leaving us to die.  Thankfully, our rescuer found us. She bottle fed us and now we are healthy and looking for homes. Sadly, the neighbors poisoned one of my sisters and a couple other dogs. Now, it is just us two and we are in danger from these neighbors doing the same to us. We need out of here. I get along with other dogs. Kids are not ones I have had the chance to be around yet though. But, I am good with my rescuer's mother's cat. A moderate to active home would be best. Bet we could have fun hiking and such. If you had a yard, that would be preferable, but if you take me out daily for exercise, it should all be good. Want 2 dogs, get my sister too. Big smile. I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.    My adoption fee is $600.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.    Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.   Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. It's a Corgi! Yup, a 2 year old, female, Corgi mix, that's me - Desiree. I weigh in at just under 20 lbs and stand almost 16 inches tall. I am very friendly girl. I was rescued from a breeding mill. That was no life for a gal me.  I am a bit depressed and sad right now, but I know a home of my own would brighten my spirits.  I am good with children and other dogs. I should not be in a home with cats though. Yea, you desire me, don't you? You could spell my name Desiré w/ the little accent over the e at the end. Hope to be winging my way to you soon. Hi all, my name is Diesel. I am a loyal 2 year old male Great Pyrenees mix. I have lived my life on a farm, taking care of the livestock. But my owner became terminally ill and could no longer take care of himself, let alone me. I am now in the care of a foster home where I am living inside a house for the first time in my life.  I take some time to trust new people; in fact it took a couple of days of her constant presence before I could trust my foster mom, but now I am very affectionate and loving toward her and I want nothing more than to be around her in the house. She has several other dogs too and I really enjoy sharing the home with them. We all love to play outside and, although I am a big guy, I know how to be respectful within the pack. When new people approach me, I tend to lunge and bark at them in an aggressive manner. I know this is not right and my foster mom has introduced me to a professional dog trainer who is working with me to fix this.  They feel that I can overcome this behaviour and be ready for a forever home once the training is complete. On the plus side, I am house-trained, I know how to walk on a leash, I am smart and eager to learn. In my ideal world I would find a loving home with acreage and other dogs to share it with me. In my previous home I was fine with the cats but have been chasing them when I go to other homes. It is thought this chasing behaviour is a frustated attempt at herding them. Clearly I never got the memo that herding cats is an impossibility. Because I am very smart and eager to please I can almost certainly be taught to leave the cats alone. I know I am a lot of dog, but believe me, I have soooooo much potential. Once I've worked out the kinks, I will be a truly loving, loyal companion. I am vaccinated, dewormed, neutered and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $500. Please review our adoption guidelines at http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca Disclaimer: In order to protect both dogs and children, the Board of Directors has decided that unless a representative of LALDR has personally met the dog or has been satisified by the international rescue of the dogs' ability to live with children, we will not approve a family for adoption. Specifically, we will not approve an adoption to a family with children age 8 or younger. We are hesitant to approve an adoption to a family with children under the age of 12 but will treat each application individually. show less

Hi everyone.  I am a recent arrival to the Shanghai shelter and I am feeling quite shy at the moment and all I want is to be cuddled. My name is Dixie and I am a small female poodle mix, approximately one year of age and about 12lb in weight. Like many of the dogs here, I was rounded up by the authorities who pick up any dogs found on the streets and take them to the police station. Then the people who work at Shanghai Animal Rescue come to take those of us who they think might be adopted. (I hate to think what happens to the others.) Since arriving here I have been constantly surrounded by other dogs and it’s all very overwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, I like dogs in general, but there are just too many here and it gets so noisy. What I would like more than anything in the world is to find a home of my own where I can feel safe and loved and start to show my fun, playful side. Can you come back a little later to check in with me when I hope to have a video to show you and a few more photo's. If I'm really, really lucky, maybe one of you will decided you don't need to wait and will apply to adopt me right away.  Oh, if only I had fingers I would have them all crossed!   I am spayed, vaccinated* and microchipped and my adoption fee of $550 CAD includes my airfare to Canada. *Dogs from Shanghai are vaccinated for rabies, distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis and parainfluenza.
