About Scooby

Adoption Fee: $225.00

WOW!  Thats all we can say about Scooby.  He is a hunk of a hound.  He is the class clown, friendly, flappy, and sweet, and a whole lotta fun!  He is a 3 yr old , 55 lb hound with a zest for life.  Found out wondering in Iowa a kind human picked him up, brought him to BBRH, where we got him all vetted, neutered and HW tested and now he’s ready for a forever family!  Since he’s lived outside most of his young life, we are stunned he is adapting to home life VERY well.  NO accidents in his foster home!  He LOVES to watch TV, no lie.  A few times he wanted to lift his leg, but took direction VERY well when told NO.  And doing his busines outside awesomely!  He is a very smart guy.   He is on the shy side, and needs time to connect with you.  A large fenced in back yard where he has room to run and sniff sniff sniff would be most ideal for him.   He also wants to remind you he is extremely handsome too...    In the manners department he is doing very well.  He's a quick learner!   Life sometimes frightens him and things are big a scary.  He is a very strong guy, and on a leash he can be a lot to handle so needs proper, continued leash training.   He would enjoys calmer doggies to play with, with proper intros, as sometimes he meets dominant rowdy doggos who turn him off.  Are you looking for a sweet young gent to spend your days and nights with watching movies?   Scooby dooby doo is your guy!   Such a doll!!

His adoption fee is $225, he is hw neg, neutered, has all vaccinations, and is chipped.

Senior Beagle looking for love!  Don't let the word senior scare you off, I have plenty of years left to live!  All being a senior means is that I'd make a great companion.  You don't have to worry about house training, chewing on your shoes and furniture,  or any distructive behaviors as I have out grown those things.  What I do love is to snuggle against you, sleep in bed under the covers with you, take walks with you, just being with you in general will make me happy!  Oh, and some food... I really love food, but what beagle doesn't?  I like other dogs but can be a little aggressive if they try to steal my food, I mean really, they have their own food!  I am curious about cats.  I have not tried to chase or bark at them, I just want to smell them.  I would probably even cuddle with them if they wanted to.  I am pretty easy going although I do not like to be in a kennel or feel caged up, but of course I shouldn't need to be either because I am not going to get into anything.  I am not noisy like some other beagles I know.  I will occasionally bark but that is just to warm you of something coming.  If I may be honest, I am really one of the best dogs out there!  I am healthy, soft as the come (I bet you have never felt ears as silky as mine), up to date on all my shots, and microchipped.  I am being fostered in the Kansas City area with an adoption fee of $200.  If you want the perfect dog to be by your side, please consider adopting me! show less

The eyes are the window to the soul we have  been told.  This boys soul is one of the sweetest.  Dexter is a 10 year old Beagle who found himself coming into rescue from a previous owner who did not have time for him and his issue anymore. This loving boy is house broken and will cue to be let outside. He does not need crated and prefers not to be.  He loves children and does great with other dogs too! (Cats unknown). Dexter LOVES food, so much that he is willing to jump on a chair to help himself to your left overs!   His dog food and other human food does need to be safely kept out of reach or locked so that he does not find himself in a feast and end up at the vet again!! Poor Dexter does suffer from chronic severe allergies, so he needs a patient owner that is willing to provide consistent medication and occasional baths.  He has been receiving this attention and is much more comfortable than when we first got him. He would do best in a home where someone is present most of the time, as he suffers from severe separation anxiety. He is what we consider 'speechless' for a hound dog until you leave the house. He does not show destructive behavior but will howl, cry, bark, and excessively pace when you leave him.   While you are home you can find him curled up in a blanket, taking a snooze!  He is an extremely sweet and gentle boy who wants a loving home with a person to cuddle up next to for his retirement. Are you that person?     **The vet said he will probably be allergy ridden and on meds for life. Some may need to be switched in the future .  Dexter averages about $80 of meds every 15 days.... plus he is on prescription shampoo and foam but that lasts awhile. As part of Dexters adoption his foster mom, who is a groomer, will offer Dexter’s new owners an extremely heavily discounted grooming fee if they want to bring him for baths. (It would include bath, nails, and ear cleaning). ****   Dexter is current on vaccinations, HW negative, neutered, and micro chipped.  His adoption fee is $125.00.  Dexter is fostered in Omaha, NE. show less

Have you ever met a beagle who has the silkiest and softest fur?  Well you have now!  My name is Emily and here are a few facts about me! I am about 5 years old and weigh around 30lbs.  I have the SOFTEST beagle ears ever, and a cute pink nose. My legs are a bit short so that I look tubby in pictures but when you look down at me, I have a decent waist.  I’m just “stocky.” I will sleep on your bed with you or I will sleep on a dog bed in the bedroom, as you wish.  During the day, I will hang out on your lap, or on a dog bed, or on a chair or the sofa near you.  I don’t care where, just somewhere you will send kisses to!   I love being outside and following scents.  If you take me on walks or to a dog park, I would entertain you incredibly with my enthusiasm.  However, I am an “escapist artist” when left unwatched.  I do not dig holes in the yard fun, but I will dig under a fence to follow a scent, so please ask for details. I would do well in an apartment with regular walks or in a home with a small back yard with monitored potty breaks.   I am OK with children and dogs.  I am not food aggressive. I am good at potty training.     I am Current on vaccinations, spayed, HW negative, and micro chipped. I am fostered in Omaha, NE. My adoption fee is $225.00 show less

Fairbanks    A lot can be said about Fairbanks.   He is a small, handsome Black & Tan hound-mix, 1 and a half years old, and approximately 30 pounds. Up to date on all vaccines, and heartworm negative. He has big, brown eyes that can melt your heart. But he can most accurately be described as a work-in-progress.   Little is known of his history; found as a stray, he has definitely suffered abuse in his past. This means he is not very trusting of new people. But, once he does warm up to you, he is very affectionate. He needs a special family, who will be patient with him, and allow him to gain the confidence he needs to be a wonderful addition to the household.   Pros: very smart, and learns routines. He has learned to go to his crate when his foster dad is getting ready for work in the morning. He is able to make it through the workday, without having accidents. Crating when he is home unattended is suggested, as he can be destructive when he gets bored. He is very motivated by both food and treats.   Cons: very timid, and not yet housebroken, but he does know to use puppy pads inside the house. He may resist learning routines at first, as he gets used to being in a new environment.   He has been labelled “aggressive” before, but he is not aggressive, he is “reactive.” He would bite out of fear, when handled. He has come a very long way in that regard over the last several months, and has even been evaluated by a professional trainer. He is now able to be gently handled, and leashed, and even walked.   Time and patience are musts.   Fairbanks is also a big fan of squeaky toys and bully sticks; they keep him and his chewing fixation occupied. He can be destructive, if not supervised, or contained. He loves other dogs, so a doggie friend already in the household who can show him the ropes would suit him just fine. He has been around cats, but a cat-free home would possibly be best. He has not been around children much.   If you think that Fairbanks is the right dog for you, give him a chance to fill your world with love. Fairbanks is fostered in Springfield, Missouri. His adoption fee is $225   show less

How do I look?  Do I look like a good boy??  Because I am a good boy!  I am approx 3 yrs old, a hound mix , 45 lbs, and super fun loving.  My story is a  bit sorted... I was a stray in a small Missouri town.  The people were not nice to me, yelling at me and chasing me away .  I had to be ran into an old abandoned house for my rescuers to catch me.  It took me ahwile to calm down and decompress after that... Upon getting all my vetting needs met, it was discovered that I had heartworm disease.  Another tough thing to get through.  I have been treated this past fall and am cleared now!!  I realized that all people aren't mean and that I can trust some of them.  I am trusting more and more now.  Some of my favorite things are playing with toys, playing with other dogs however I just need proper introductions, sitting nicely for my treats, and hugging (yes i will stand up next to you and put my arms around you!).  I stay nicely and quietly in my kennel when my foster mom is at work and I can be trusted left out of the kennel.  I love the people in my home and the doggies.  Sometimes when people approach me or come at me I get a bit startled and low growl.  Then when i realize I know them, I am fine.  I go potty outside all them time, I only bark when there is something to bark at outside, I am a champ at walking on a leash.  I get a bit scared when cars or bikes go by so I will slow down or stop until they pass, but I am working on this too, to not be so frightened when outside.  Do I sound like I might fit into your life well?  I just need time to get used to my surroundings and trust that you will keep me safe and I will be your best friend for life!  I am fully vetted, neutered, chipped, cleared of HW, and am $225 for my adoption fee.  Are you my people?  Fostered in Omaha NE. show less
