About Avalon

Meet Avalon! Avalon is believed to be a pointer mix around 6 months old. She grew up in a cage until she could barely fit anymore and then was moved to a chain that she could barely move on. It’s truest sickening what people believe to be okay, but she’s safe and has free roam now! Avalon is still very nervous and has no idea how to be a dog, she’s currently being fostered in Mississippi and watching the other dogs interact with the foster. She’s slowly coming around and asking for pets here and there but still has a little bit to go. Once she realizes that no one will harm her or mistreat her ever again, she will flourish into this amazing girl! She LOVES to play with her foster siblings! So we believe another fursibling would be best for Avalon. Avalon is UTD and will be spayed before her journey north! She will be ready for adoption October 10th, 2019. If you are interested in avalon please go to to apply! Please note, Charlie’s Crusaders will not adopt a puppy to a home where they will be alone longer than 4 hrs a day!

Meet Zelda and Bella! Zelda and Bella were rescued by a Charlie’s volunteer after someone reached out to her about two dogs sitting in a crate outside all day in the rain in Elizabethtown, PA. Zelda has a large piece of her left ear missing, likely due to the family trying to crop her ears. From the information that Charlie’s was able to get, both Zelda and Bella were born on 12/5/2016 and are Min Pin/Chow and Shepard mixes and have been raised together until a domestic violence issue split the family. As now, we are unsure if they are good with other dogs or cats. We were told they do well with other dogs with a proper introduction. Both were good with the small children at the temporary foster they had to stay out of the rain but they did try to escape their pen to get to that family’s gerbil, so we will update this information as we learn it. Both girls are house trained and crate trained. Zelda is estimated to be around 25 pounds and Bella around 20 pounds. Both Zelda and Bella are up to date and have been spayed.  YOU  MUST HAVE A FENCED IN YARD. To foster Zelda and Bella until they are ready for their forever home, please go to and fill out our foster application! Please note that Zelda and Bella are a bonded pair and need to be fostered together and adopted together. show less
