About Shelby

Adoption Fee: $250.00

Pleased to meet you, I'm Shelby.  I'm a happy, energetic girl who really wants a loving home where I belong.  I would make a great running/hiking buddy.  I like to play with other dogs and toys.  I'm housetrained and crate trained, although I don't love my crate.

I like other dogs and may benefit from having a playful dog bud in my forever home.  I will bark at new people, but I make friends with kind words and a few minutes of patience. My foster home doesn't have cats, so I don't know what I would think of them.  I'm probably not a good fit for a family with very small kids, because I don't know that I'm as big or strong as I really am.  Older kids would probably be fine.  I have done well at doggy day-care, and this is a great outlet for my energy!

I'm a smart girl, I know sit.  I would greatly benefit from a training class where I can learn from you what is expected of me.  I'm a sweetheart, and love to snuggle and be loved on and petted.  Please ask about me today.

Chico is actually a Chica, and she is the sweetest little chica on the planet! She was given up by her owners in Kansas after they got mad when she kept leaving their property because she was left outside alone all hours of the day. The poor girl was just looking for a little affection! Thankfully, she found her way all the way to a foster home in Colorado, where she gets all the love and affection in the world! She is a very lovey, playful girl who enjoys slipping her head under your arm and rolling her way into your open lap. ;) She loves to play with other dogs, and she gets lonely without them, so we think she definitely needs to go to a home with another pup to keep her company. She does have pretty intense separation anxiety without a furry friend or a family member staying with her all the time, but she isn't destructive. She loves to play with other dogs and she's good with kiddos. She knows basic commands and walks really well on a leash, but she does bark and growl at passersby. She wouldn't dare harm them, she just wasn't properly socialized as a puppy, so this is her way of saying "I really want to say hi, but this silly leash is holding me back -- how rude!".  She is good with new dogs and people coming into 'her' home and just wants to say hello! She is truly such a gem -- some family is going to be beyond lucky to adopt this angel!  Apply to adopt at show less
