About Armstrong

Meet Armstrong!  Armstrong is a 3 years old, 60lbs male Terrier mix.   Armstrong was brought to a high kill shelter after his owner no longer wanted him and demanded that the shelter take him or he would be shot. His surrender paperwork stated that his owner said he never even gave him a name. Since being taken into rescue, Armstrong has fallen in love with foster life. He is being shown affection, is allowed to cuddle on the couch with his foster and sleep in her bed. He is finally being shown what life as a family member feels like and his foster's wish is that he would be lucky enough to find a family willing to dote on him to make up for the lack of love he has been shown. His foster is moving to another state and we must find a PA area foster or adopter for him so he doesn't end up in boarding. Armstrong is good with kids, but prefers to be an only dog after having experienced no affection, he is not willing to share his family with any other pets. He can walk on the street past other animals with no issue, but does not prefer for any other pets to live in his home. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered and has recently completed heartworm treatment and has a clean bill of health. He deserves a loving family that will give him a future filled with hope and happiness. To apply --> www.charliescrusaders.org

Bam Bam: Meet Bam Bam:  Bam Bam has a backstory that would break your heart. Bam Bam has been under fed and malnourished his entire life. He was finally seized by the shelter and has so much love to give its heart-wrenching. He deserves to be showered with affection and loved unconditionally.  Despite his sad story, he has the best temperament. He is trusting, loving, and so gentle. Here is what his foster says about him. Bam Bam is a very sweet boy. He craves attention and lights up when you talk to him and give him pets. He does not jump up which is fantastic as he’s about 60lbs. He is underweight by about 10lbs according to the vet and he looks for food all the time. He thrives off of “good boy” praises and knows how to sit. Does well riding in the car, around other dogs and is housebroken.  He is adjusting to sleeping in a kennel but has to be bribed to go in.  His skin is currently healing from flea dermatitis and he’s on an antibiotic to help with any infection. He’s really gentle and will take treats from your hand. If your looking for a big ole cuddle dog, he’s your man. Bam Bam loves people and other dogs. Bam Bam is up to date on all his shots and neutered. If your interested in making this sweet boy part of your family please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application. Please note that you must own your home and have a fenced in yard.  show less

Meet Dior! Dior is a pit lab mix, she’s almost 2 years old. She is a rescue bait dog that was put in a shelter due to be euthanized. She is so ready to find a forever home! She is so energetic and loves being outside! She has been through a lot, she needs someone who is patient and gentle, give her confidence and consistency. She loves cuddling on the couch. She absolutely adores car rides and hikes. she plays well with multiple toys and loves the color orange. She loves getting little training treats and is grasping commands such as (sit, wait/hold, lay down, and gentle). Dior would thrive in a home with NO other pets! Her current foster has smaller animals such as gerbils and reptiles, she has no issue with them in her space. But cats get her too overstimulated. If introduced properly and given the time she could live with one other dog her size, but that dog would also have to be submissive. Dior is potty trained as well as crate trained. She is a resource guard, but responds well to “WE’ER DONE” (with her attitude)! She is so sweet, she loves belly rubs. She loves kids. Loves walking in creeks, but does not like the hose. This princess can not wait find her family!   Can you be my hero? Meet Duke! Duke is a Tri-pod estimated to be around 3 years old, 60 lbs and a husky mix! He is an owner surrender, the family is moving further down South where the temperatures are hotter and Duke will not be able to tolerate more heat due to his breed. His current owners say this about him: Duke is such a lovely dog. He needs a home with a strong male or a large female companion dog. He should not be anywhere with Chickens or small animals. He’s an absolute beauty. He is also the fastest three legged dog you will ever meet. I would rather him go up North than stay here in Mississippi. Duke is UTD son shots and is neutered. He is a Rescue from Michigan. The previous owners  stepped on his leg when he was 8 weeks old, put him in a cage for a month until they noticed something was wrong. It was so mangled during the puppy growth timeline that they decided to amputate the leg at 12 weeks.  Other than that, the back leg is in good condition. He loves to run and there is not chance of him having leg issues with the remaining leg as long as he doesn’t run into something. He’s such a great dog. I just can’t put him through another hot summer that will be more intense. He needs snow and a yard. Apply today at charliescrusaders.org PLEASE NOTE you must own you own home, have a fenced in yard and breed experience.  show less
