About Scooby

Adoption Fee: $350

Scooby is a loving German Shepherd/Great Dane mix, born May 2018.  He is a happy, playful, easily excited dog, but he is also very loving and gives lots of kisses.  He is housetrained, kennel trained, and knows some commands.  Scooby needs proper introductions to new people and animals.  Scooby loves to run and be outside so he needs a 6ft. fenced yard.  He will do best with an active family that will play catch and interact with him because he has a lot of energy.  He is still working on walking properly on a leash.  During the time he isn't active,  he just likes  napping on the couch.

UPDATE:  We have witnessed some food aggression from Scooby.  This adds some factors that we need to consider when looking for the perfect home.  If Scooby is adopted by a family with another dog,  the dogs will need to be fed separately and monitored when given treats.  Although Scooby loves children, young children often drop food.  So if there is another dog in the home there should not be children under 12.  If there are no other dogs in the home younger children may be alright since there would not be the risk of Scooby reacting negatively with another dog over food when children are around.  Simply put, if you have another dog there shouldnt be young children in the home.  If you dont have another dog, younger children may be alright.  Scooby is also not a fan of car rides.

The suggested adoption donation for Scooby is $350.   We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.

Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.

Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.

Ace is a Shepherd/Boxer who most resembles the Shepherd side of his family tree.  Born March 2020, he is a very sweet, fun loving dog who loves to cuddle and does prefer to sleep in bed if you let him.  Ace loves Frosty Paws, playing fetch, bones, and toys that keep him busy.  He is friendly with children of all ages and is dog friendly.  He barks an enthusiastic welcome to  visitors.  He is a VERY GOOD PUPPY, but still requires patience to handle his puppy antics.  He is housetrained, but may have an occasional accident; and he is not distructive, except for an artificial plant that caught his eye.  Typical of a shepherd, he has lots of energy and is very loyal.  His perfect home will be with someone who has the patience to handle an active puppy. The suggested adoption donation for Ace is $400.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Alex is a Chihuahua, born July 2007.  Since he is blind and has diabetes, his favorite things to do are sleep and snuggle, and he is expert at both.  Loves being outside, however being in new places, frightens him.  He would like to find a calm home, he does great with children and preferably no other dogs that would expect him to play.  His diabetes messes with the potty training because if his sugar is too high, he drinks lots of water and potties every five minutes. On the flip side, he won't go at all for a while if his sugar is too low.  His blood sugar must be watched closely for his health, but a belly band will help with the potty situation. The suggested adoption donation for Alex is $200.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Angel is a Labrador Retriever/Hound mix, born February 2019.  She came to Muddy Paws with two of her puppies, Finley Rose and Huckleberry.   Due to her being a bit fearful, we recommend that there be no young children in her new home.  Angel knows some basic commands and is mostly house-trained.  She loves to play with toys and balls.  She is fearful of strangers until she gets to know them.   Angel has had a very hard life involving possible abuse and neglect and would love a fresh start in a quieter home with patient adopters willing to help her become the best version of herself.   The suggested adoption donation for Angel is $300.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Angus (or Gus for short) is a sweet Boxer mix that was born on October 30, 2018. Gus is very affectionate and knows basic commands as well as being kennel and potty trained. He is great with older kids, adults and dogs his size (50 pounds). We actually recommend another dog in the home so he has someone to play with. NO CATS OR SMALL DOGS due to his prey drive. He is a HUGE snuggler and enjoys being a lap dog. Gus does suffer from some anxiety and is on medication to help with that.  Changes are difficult for him so he would probably need a couple visits with his adopter to get to know them prior to an adoption. If you are interested in giving Angus his happily ever after, please fill out an application today! Bella and Billy are a bonded pair of 10 year old Chihuahua/Pomeranian mixes, and they must be adopted together.  They are sweet, friendly cuddley dogs and only need a home because their owner passed away.   They like their kennel and sleep there all night. Going for walks is lots of fun, but they haven't been accustomed to daily exercise. They get nervous around active young children, and they ignore cats.  Bella is the more opinionated of the two and will put dogs and cats in their place if the mood strikes; however, she is not aggressive.  Both dogs are housetrained but need a refresher since they didn't get out as often as necessary when their former owner was hospitalized. They don't bark much so they may be okay in an apartment. Both take a bit of time to warm up to strangers, so a couple meetings might be in order.  A home with no children is also suggested.  A quieter home would be best. The suggested adoption donation for Bella and Billy together is $500.    We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.
