About CHAPO - Courtesy Post

This is NOT a dog belonging to LALDR. This is a courtesy posting. Please do not contact us, as we know nothing about the dog.

For more information, please contact: cassie_kamstra@hotmail.com

Chapo is a 5 year old pitbull mix currently located in Maple Ridge. He is neutered and housebroken, but needs his shots/vaccines updated. He is very good at taking food and treats, and will give a bark to let you know it's mealtime. He is very loyal and thinks he's a lapdog - he loves to cuddle. He loves the snow, and loves to play with toys, but can chew through them very quickly. He is so sweet and loves children.

Chapo needs to be in a household and area without dogs, as he is very dog aggressive and will chase after them, no matter if he sees them in the street, through the window or through the fence. He needs to have a backyard with a very high border, as he can almost jump over 6' fences. He needs a calm, experienced owner who can give him the training and attention he needs to get over his dog aggression.

If you are interested in Chapo please contact cassie_kamstra@hotmail.com.

I am Alexi. If you're in the Seattle / greater Seattle area, please keep reading! If you have a big heart and love cuddles, I could be the one for you!  I am a cute terrier mix and maybe Berger Picard (around 10kg and 3.5 years old) and if you take a look into my deep brown eyes and my large muppet ears, you might quickly fall in love. We are looking to keep me in the Seattle / North Seattle area, as I'm really bonded to my foster Mom, and would need a slow transition. Also, you could think of adopting me as possibly a part time share, my foster Mom would like to stay in my life, help out and dog sit, if that would be okay with you. Feel free to reach out for more information if you're truly interested, and you can chat with my current Mama. You can contact us through this rescue group or even send my foster Mom a message on my Instagram account - info below. I was found by some kind people in an abandoned building, paralyzed in all four of my limbs. - Trust me, I'm a survivor!  The good news - I am now in a loving foster home, just North of Seattle, and have had an MRI. My c5-c6 is injured, which has caused paralysis in my four limbs. My foster mama has done a tremendous amount of work with me to make me stronger.  At this point I can not sit, stand or walk by myself and my bladder gets expressed about 4 times a day. I don't wear diapers, and I have a normal 2x daily bowel movement. I'm one of the few paralyzed dogs that doesn't need to wear diapers! Since the time I've been in foster care, my whole body has become stronger. Six months after I arrived here, my back legs started to "wake up," it was amazing! I now go on daily walks / tows in my cart (see my videos, or check out my IG account). Once my cart starts to get pulled in a forward motion, my rear legs follow (most days, though I do have stubborn days too). Currently I walk 1/4-1/2 a mile daily, sometimes more! I can't steer very well, because of my injury I tend to go left quite often. I move my front shoulders, but my front paws haven't woke up. My days consist of cart walks, park visits, exercises, cuddles and snoozing. Once I get my walk, I'm usually ready for cuddles and a nap. I LOVE to take naps with my human.  You may follow along my adventures here, which I now share with my foster sibling who was also rescued from this organization: https://www.instagram.com/rescuedgypsy/ People have started a go fund me page.  http://www.gofundme.com/help-alexi   I also now have an Amazon.com wish list of my very own! https://amzn.to/2I3kT9v   I always so excited to go outside, and enjoy the fresh air! Sometimes that is in my cart, or my special backpack. Every time my human comes to give me love I do the wiggles and sometimes I sing to her. I know it will take a special person to give me a forever home, but I believe this world is full of special people. I already found one of them and she's my foster mom. If dreams come true, my next special person is reading this right now and lives close to my foster family! I'd love a family who has a nice doggy friend for me, and someone who is home often. I like to be around my humans, in the same room, and outside on adventures. My forever human should be physically fit and will continue my care.  If you live near me, my current Mama will go through my routines with you, including my favorite places to visit.  I live with two cats, sometimes I'm not bothered by them, but sometimes I growl and bark (can you blame me, I am part terrier). I'd prefer a home without small children, and any older children need to be kind, gentle and patient. Once I know you, and you sit and give me treats for a couple of minutes I earn your trust. When I'm out on my walks in my cart, I very rarely bark, though I will do a high pitch happy bark when I see a dog that peeks my interest! I would thrive to be in a home with another gentle and playful dog. Having another loving dog around really has helped my motivation and my happiness. I am also not neutered and need to stay that way. I need my hormones to help me get stronger.  I know it will take a special person to give me a forever home, but I believe you are out there somewhere and when we find each other both our lives will grow bigger with love. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. APPLE (Angel) Breed: Galgo (Spanish Greyhound)/Lab Age: 1-1/2 yr Gender: Fe, spayed Wgt/Hgt: 70 lbs / 26 inches Activity level: medium-high Relations: good with dogs & children / unknown cats Highlights: great with kids, highly intelligent, persevering, separation anxiety, escape artist, loves being around people Region: Middle East Confined spaces and locked doors, these are common obstacles for any canine. Today, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the one dog that has broken those barriers through intelligence. From far lands, also called the Middle East, I give you Appledini... I’d like to start with a question, has anybody ever been locked or left alone behind a closed door? I bet the answer is yes, unpleasant situation. I’ve had my own share of bad experiences, but being in a confined space or a locked room for a long time isn’t one of them. I’ve become a master of the art of escaping any place at which I might be left alone, and using a key to open doors is also part of my repertoire. Now you might be wondering how is it possible a dog can develop such amazing abilities. It’s a part of my mystery… well… in fact, they’re the result of the difficult things I’ve had to go through.  I’ve experienced horrifying things from being abused by a drug addict who hurt me with a heated stick (hence the marks on my skin) to almost being strangled to death by insane men who wanted to hang me.  Fortunately, the amazing abilities I acquired to get away from danger and of course with the help of my wonderful assistants, whom some people call rescuers, have helped me stay alive up to this day. And I love magic, but despite being a popular escape artist, I dislike being left alone. I live for the audience, so I have a very bad time when I’m not surrounded by people. Separation anxiety, I’ve heard it’s called. Even in my darkest times, there have always been humans around to help me; maybe that’s why I don’t like being by myself nor confined. I’d be the happiest if I lived in a home with a loving family. However, since there are no foster parents for dogs my size in these lands, I’m currently living in a kennel facility and I hate it. It makes me so stressed that the so-called anxiety isn’t getting any better, and it has started to also mess with my wizardry. So would you help me? I’m good with dogs and great with kids, they make just the perfect assistants. They saved me from strangulation twice, how could I not love them?  Although the shelter says I am the leader (alpha) of the group of dogs I am with, they say I am quite compassionate. That's part of my magic, tadaa... being there for you. All you have to do to be a part of the most amazing show you’ll ever find is to prepare yourself to be amazed! https://youtu.be/EVm283SN5Mc. You’ll witness my talents front row, and I’ll turn your life into an enthralling experience. https://youtu.be/FiwIIPTNJ4Y. It’ll be full of affection and fun from day one, and I’ll use all my abilities and perseverance to bring magic and love to my new home in Canada. You have my word.  I bet I would make a seriously good trick dog, if you wanted to go for those titles with me. Maybe we could do shows for folks. https://youtu.be/iP1Sbw_6e1g. I may even teach you a trick or two to escape from work when it gets too busy, how does that sound? https://youtu.be/KKvLoxYocB8. We can have some great playtime outside instead. Trust me, your life will never have a boring moment again, I’ll make sure of that. Just say the magic words, click on the magical “adopt" button… and adopt me! I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. BIRGITTA (Brigitte) Breed: Aidi mix (Atlas Shepard dog) Gender: fe, spayed Age: 3 years old Wgt/Hgt: 42 lbs/almost 25-1/2 inches Relations: Good other dogs/good with kids (per policy)/unknown cats Activity Level: Moderate to somewhat active Highlights: Loves people, food motivated (great for training), calm temperament Region: Middle East Sometimes bad things happen that lead to wonderful opportunities... that is my story. I was involved in a serious car accident here in the Middle East and the people who found me thought it best to put me down, as my treatment would be too costly, but lucky for me there were others willing to step in and help with the surgery costs. But my story does not end there. It was not long before they came to learn I also had parvovirus. Things did not look good for me, but I am a survivor and after months of care I was finally strong enough to undergo the extensive surgery I needed. The surgeon had very little hope I would walk again, but again I amazed them! With physiotherapy and lots of love, I was able to regain the use of my legs quite well, if I may say so myself. You may note a touch of a drag in my back leg a bit, but it certainly doesn't effect me or slow me down. Check out my videos. https://youtu.be/qaFU1lT28HE. Now I am running too https://youtu.be/KwmvoM9yLPs. When I was living on the street food was scarce, so now I will eat and eat and eat ... I am very food motivated. Bet you could use that to your advantage to teach me lots of tricks.  Next to food my favourite thing is tummy rubs and will drop whatever I am doing to get one of those!  I am a people pleaser and love all of you two legged creatures .. especially the youngsters - I very much enjoy playing with children. Other dogs used to scare me a bit, but now I am fine with them, big or small. No one is 100% sure how I will react to cats, as there are none here at my new foster, but one of the rescue volunteers remembers me during my time on the street and never once witnessed any aggression by me towards the cats that approached my food. But if that is important to you, they have promised to try their best to introduce me once our world opens up again. I have encountered cats on my walks with my foster and I do pull, but it is thought it is out of curiousity, not aggression. https://youtu.be/690U-kbYCEM. This lock down is hard on everyone. But here at my foster, I have blossomed into a healthy happy dog with a calm temperament full of love for everyone. My foster thinks I am just the sweetest dog around.  Now it is time for a new chapter, the one that has lead me here... one I hope, involves a forever home in Canada with you !  I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada. Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Are you looking for a cool, calm, collected four-legged companion? Well, you just might be in luck! My name is Blitzen and I am a handsome 4 year old mixed retriever pup from Bahrain. I am quite the looker with my soft black fur, big brown eyes, and white speckled front paws. I stand about 27 inches tall and weigh about 65 pounds. I may have a pretty big stature; however I am super calm and gentle (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9lO34-9G2c&feature=youtu.be). How’d I end up in the dog shelter, you might ask? Well, me and my bro were abandoned by our owners when they decided to leave the country. Unfortunately, instead of finding us a new home, they just left us tied up in the garden. We stayed there, tied up for a long time. Thank our lucky stars though, somebody called the Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre (BARC) and they came and saved us! My bro and I are both safe and sound at the BARC shelter now, but we both deserve loving homes with cozy beds, treats, and lots of lovin’. I have been told that I’m grrrreat with other dogs (check out my video of me sharing a kennel with another pooch…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deb6Ca4T8bk&feature=youtu.be). I am still a young, youthful dog who loves walks and adventures, but I can also be calm and chill (can you say snoozes on the couch? Yes please!). My rescuers describe me as a lovely boy who is gentle and great with kids. I will admit, I’m not a huge fan of the kitties though, so a kitty-free home would be good for me. I’m a gem on the leash, look at my video- I’m such a good boy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWitNi4rAag&feature=youtu.be). Look how much I love having my head scratched hehe, I never want my humans to stop! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otCb6R8hv7U) Could you be my furever family? I guarantee we would be fast friends! UPDATE: My foster family in Bahrain noticed that I was walking a bit funny, so they got some x-rays of my hind legs. Turns out that I have pretty severe hip dysplasia and will require a surgery to fix me up! The specific procedure is unknown at the moment, however it will most likely include hip replacements. The vet here in Bahrain says that once I have surgery, I should be able to live a normal, healthy, happy life! I'm only 4 years old after all! My best shot at a full recovery and a long, healthy life is if I receive my surgery in Canada. LALDR and BARC want to fly me to Canada to have my surgery and will try to help fundraise for the vet costs, however there are no guarantees that they will be able to cover the full amount. What I really need is a foster or an adopter who is generous enough to help me out! I will need patient humans who are willing to spend time helping me recover after my surgery. Once you lavish me with your patience and love, I will be in tip-top shape and will repay you with endless doggy kisses and cuddles! I am neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. My adoption fee of $500 includes my airfare to Canada. Freedom feels so good when you've been locked up for 5 years! Hi, my name is Chacha and I am excited to start the next chapter of my life as your best friend. It's believed I am part Great Pyrenees, though I'm awfully small for such a big breed. I also may have some Golden Retriever in my make-up. I'm about 9 years old weigh just 48lb and measure 19 inches to my shoulders.  I was discovered by a kind individual who saw me at the city pound. When she learned that I had been kept in a small pen for the past five years she quickly took steps to get me out of there and into a private rescue that would help find me a home. At first I didn't look so great. I had been neglected and was suffering from a skin infection. The vet recommended medicated baths and suggested it would be more effective if my fur was shaved. After just three medicated baths my skin is now so much better.  I am a dog who is comfortable around people and fine being touched all over, but in terms of all that lovey-dovey hugs and kisses kind of stuff, well, I'm just not into it. Call me old fashioned, but I believe love is all about loyalty and patrolling the perimeter of the property.  Once we're living together you can be sure I'll get to know every inch of our home and property through my impressive sniffing ability. It's one of my special talents and I like to keep my skill sharp with regular practice.  When I meet new dogs I typically greet them politely and then go about my business of exploring the area. It's the same when I've met cats - they're not particularly interesting. On the other hand, I find the idea of going for walks and discovering the neighbourhood very appealing. I guess you'd say my energy level is about average. I do get quite excited when we head out on a walk and may pull on the leash a bit at first, but I'm also able to relax in my domain, wherever that may be.  My relaxed approach to food means you can put me on a free-feeding program if you like; I eat when I'm hungry, and only the amount I need to feel full. It's probably a good idea not to let me eat right before a car journey as I tend to get a little car-sick. I'm not a big barker, but I will bark when I want to go outside; so hopefully you get the message.  You know, while it's fabulous that I no longer spend my days in a small pen, I still dream of having a home of my own with someone who loves me.  I'm hoping with all my heart that someone out there is reading this now and saying to themselves: "This is the one for me."   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee of $450 + applicable taxes, includes my airfare to Vancouver or Seattle. He is 2.5 years old, a neutered male, Anatolian Shepherd mix. He is very social and loves the company of people of all kind and dogs. He is not cat tested, but since he has such an amazing temperament, with patience and proper introductions, he will be ok. He is crate trained. Daniel (Billy) -  Foster lined up. Thanks. Breed: Shepard/Pointer Age: 1 yr Gender: male, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 43 lbs / 20 inches Energy level: moderate to active Relations: good with dogs / unknown cats & kids Highlights: house trained, polite, loves to play ball I was saved from a horribly painful death at the hands of monstrous people in the Middle East. They had doused me with gasoline and were about to light me on fire, when my rescuer swooped in and pulled me put of the situation. They also cut my ears & tail off. https://youtu.be/PARiXHddxMo. My rescuer planned to keep me, but the neighbors have complained. People here in the Middle East still think dogs are unclean. It is all bogus of course, but they need to relearn that dogs are good. Anyway, the police have given my family here a month to get me out. That means by the end of November. You will find I like to please and am quite the polite little boy. Bonus, I am already house trained. I will likely be a medium-large sized dog, so I hope you like lots of big loving coming your way. I like other dogs, though haven't been around kitties or kids yet. Being I am yet a puppy and a sweet one at that, it is likely I could get along fine with respectful children. It is just that I have not been tested with any yet. See how bouncey, trouncey I am in my vids. Maybe agility sports should be in my future. https://youtu.be/X3RXe_K44Sk, https://youtu.be/AKLG2v6gCN8. I love to play ball. So, I hope you like to do fun activities like that. Maybe some hiking or ball playing at the dog park? While I am young I will probably be fairly active. Once I mature, probably moderate to active.  There is someone there for me reading this now, I just know it. Please help me and keep my rescuer from crying. She is distraught over this. I will be your lifelong buddy... and cuddle bud and playmate and... well, you get the picture. Update: I have been chosen by a loving adopter & am currently with a rescuer until a flight is found.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. Dayton (Damon) Breed: Shepard/Greyhound Age: 5 yrs Gender: Male, neutered Wgt/Hgt: 73 lbs / 35 inches Energy level: Moderate Relations: good with dogs, kids / unknown cats Highlights: kind, friendly, tripaw, sweet disposition, playful Region: Middle East If you are searching for the sweetest boy ever, look no further. My loving temperament is all you would ever want in a sweet & kind dog. When I was found, my rescuers said it seemed like I was begging for help. I came near to them, showed my leg and sat down. The gentle look in my eyes, told them to take me. My front leg was cut at the the wrist and was severely swollen. This was how they found me: https://youtu.be/ZYag0q778Pc, https://youtu.be/qkNNAYKklZc. The vet amputated it, as it was developing an infection. It was awful. When my rescuers questioned people about my paw, they were told somebody cut it off as punishment for eating his hens. They wanted to shoot me dead, but decided to do this instead to make me feel severe pain. So, now I live as a tripaw, but it hasn't affected my sweet disposition. I long for closeness and give only love in return. https://youtu.be/A3Zm6F6S0BY I like very much to play. You won't find me feeling sorry for myself, no siree. I want to run around and have fun now that my leg is not an issue.  I have never been around kitties, but I am great with people. I am good with other dogs & kids too. https://youtu.be/zvlxDwHK6qs. A good home would be one who wants to play games with me, while respecting my limitations. Moderate activity would be good. Not a requirement. But I am on board if you have another dog to be buddies with too. I hope you have rooming your heart and home for a super sweet, loving boy like me. Diesel requires a countryside home/acreage where he has lots of room to roam with another large dog that he can play with. Applications without another playful dog in the house will not be considered. Hi all, my name is Diesel. I am a loyal 4 year old male Great Pyrenees mix. I have lived much of my life on a farm, taking care of the livestock. But my owner became terminally ill and could no longer take care of himself, let alone me. I am now in the care of a foster home where I am living inside a house for the first time in my life. My foster mom can't say enough good about me. I am awesome with every dog I meet and love to play with them. I even try to play with a Chihuahua friend of mine by getting down on the ground at his level and doing a flat puppy bow. But I can really only play well with another large dog. When I am in a playful mood I will come up behind you and poke you in the bum or walk between your legs.  There is little I like more than affection. I will sit beside you forever if you will keep petting me. When you stop I will put my paw on your arm to remind you to continue. But car rides are a close second favourite. I just adore sticking my head out the window. But even then, I like you to be touching you. My foster mom has to hold my paw when she is driving. So yes we hold hands in the car.  I am aggressive to strangers and will lunge at people I don't know who approach me.  This is likely the result of poor socialization in my prior home. It takes me a couple of days to trust someone new. So my new owners would need to visit me a few times before taking me home. However, my foster mom is willing to stay with me in my new home for a couple of days until I have time to adjust. Once I trust you, I would never hurt you. I love my people with all my heart.  It isn't really clear how I would be with cats. When I was visiting a friend's home and cat went running through the yard. All of us dogs took up the chase but when we were told to stop, I was the only one that did. So it is most likely I could be trained to leave cats alone.  I am house-tranined, walk well on leash and know my basic commands. I am a very smart boy and am eager to learn. I am vaccinated, dewormed, neutered and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $500. This is NOT a dog belonging to LALDR. Please do not contact us, as we know nothing about the dog. This is a courtesy posting only. For more information, please contact the rescue person listed below. Thank you. For more information on or to set up a meet and greet with this dog, please email: Jerry at super645@yahoo.com. Available for adoption in South Central Alaska ONLY. Or anyone who can reach the area for a meet and greet. I'm Kiera. I was born August 8, 2013. I am a malamute and everyone who meets me tells me how pretty I am. I weigh about 75 lbs. I didn't have a very good home before I came to live where I am now.. The man wasn't very nice to me and he had to dogs who beat up on me all the time, so I don't get along with other dogs very well, because I am scared of being hurt again. So a one dog home is best. I don't know how I would do with a kitty. I like guys ok, especially the guy I live with, but I especially like women, and older kids. I like younger kids, but I can be over energetic with them and sometimes scare them with my woowoo talking or bump them over and I don't mean to. I am very well behaved, I have never had an accident in the house no matter how long I have to stay inside. I love treats and if you are eating something, it goes without saying that I should have some of that too. I like snuggling and I have a stuffed Tigger that I like to play with, if you get on the floor with me. I especially like car rides too and will wait patiently while you run into the store. It is not that my man doesn't like me, he loves me and I love him. But he had to move into an apartment and he wants to find a place where I can have more activity and explore in the woods or where ever. When we lived up on the mountain I would go with him on hikes all of the time. I have good recall when called back too. One issue I have is one of my eyes was damaged in a fight before my current owner got me. The vet said it has atrophied. So it is smaller than my good eye. It really hasn't changed much. I would say if anything it may need occasional cleaning to keep out any debris. The vet said it could stay like this or eventually shrink more needing removal at some point. I can probably see some light/shadows with it. I'm a very lovable dog to people, and I would make an excellent companion for someone or a family. I am a very loyal girl.   I am spayed and up to date on immunizations. There will be a small rehoming fee.   COURTESY POST This is NOT a dog belonging to LALDR. This is a courtesy posting only.
