Rusty is a 1 year old terrier mix, with a face that hints of Pharaoh Hound. He is such a gentle soul, he would love to have another gentle soul as his lifelong partner. Rusty is really scared of people when he first meets them, and may not be a "lap dog" for a very long time, if ever. It will take him up to a few months to get comfortable in his new home, so his new owner must understand how to work with a very shy/fearful dog. Having another friendly dog for him to partner with will speed up his adjustment period. He's a lot braver around other dogs. Once he begins to trust you he will sleep on the bed if you'll put a doggy bed up there with you so he has his own spot. And in the morning, he'll be silly-giddy to have you rub his belly, scratch his neck and play a bit with him. You just have to understand this may take time, You'll have to be patient. He seems to be ok around cats, but if he doesn't have a doggy playmate he might try to play with them. He'll probably be good with older kids, although he just might stay away from them out of fear. Just not sure about smaller children. Rusty is house trained, kennel and pen trained, neutered, heart worm negative and vaccinated. For more info or to meet him, complete an application with your info, and the foster owner will contact you. show less
