About Good Kitty

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Great potential to be a good indoor kittyGood Kitty is a male domestic medium hair. Young adult.  He is such a cutie and has potential to be a good indoor kitty. He walked straight into my home after couple of months of me feeding him. He’s ready to be adopted by hoomans, although he needs someone who is patient and loving to help him adjust. He deserves a chance to be in a good home.  He use to be scared of humans, but now he craves human affection. After living outside for so long I believe he wants to be loved and spoiled. He lets me pet him and he likes face rubs. He also lets me comb him and he’s likes to walk around and explore rather than hide in corners.  He is a semi feral cat who just recently got tnr 07/17/19. Updated with fvrcp vaccination, rabies, flea treatment, deworming, and neutered.  Attention cat lovers: Need someone who is experienced with semi feral cats because it will take awhile for them to slowly adjust and bond with their new owner. Not sure but I think he was abandon (seen him around for almost a year) but he is nice and not really feral.   Adopting a semi feral isn’t an easy task, but will be worth it in the end. Please give him a chance~ If you would like to meet this good kitty, please contact youknowitstrieu@gmail.com THIS animal listing is a COURTESY LISTING - not a 13th St Cat Rescue animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Janice (janice.frazier@sbcglobal.net) for more information about this pet. Online Adoption Application › Loving and adorable, but very special needsBriar is outgoing, loving, playful and loves life. He purrs close to non-stop and head butts you for loving. But he had a perianal hernia and GI tract complications since he was rescued as a bottle baby. We are still looking for the ideal home for Briar. He loves all animals (2- and 4-legged) and will become a very adored family member. But because of his issues he does need a special diet and a home that is easily suited to cleaning (non-carpeted or specialized room for him) as he can't always get to the litter tray to poop. If you are looking for the best of the special needs cats, for sure it’s him and he is worth the effort. Note the posting updates are in chronological order to see more on him.   Original Posting as baby: Multiple attempts to help him with vets locally would work for a while, but finally we had to take him to UC Davis for another surgery. This created quite a large vet bill for the group, requires special food, and significant care. Any donation will help significantly, towards his bill, and his on-going expenses. Please help us fund this little guy - - never seen such a trooper in a little kitten, he won’t give up; help us make sure we don’t have to! THANKS for helping!   UPDATE Nov 5 2015: Working with the vets, we have come up with a mix of canned and kibble foods to help Briar's poop firm up some so he makes the litter tray more and has gained some weight in the last months. He had stalled at about 5 lbs, but with the mix of canned and kibble we've got him up to 6 lbs. Also we had a scare when he plugged up with a hairball in rectum - with work we got it out. But now he gets hairball treatment gel with every meal till shedding season is over, and we have trimmed his beautiful tail (sadly) so he will not ingest the long 4' tail hairs. Still he's a wonderful, happy, beautiful cat!   UPDATE Dec 14, 2015: He is gaining weight and is now up to 4 lbs at 6 months of age, yeah!   Update Jan 15, 2016: At Vet check he was 4.8 lbs (yeah!) and is now eating Royal Canin Mom and Babycat kibble, as well as canned IAMS intestinal plus food, both easy to digest, so his poop is a bit more consistent in timing and firmness.   Update March 6, 2016: After trying baby kibble with Briar and finding it was a very fine balance to keep him from getting too firm of poop, we have started him on Metamucil in his canned food at the recommendation of UC Davis. So far we find that is nicely helping to manage the really loose stool.   Update Sept 20, 2016: Briar is much better on Metamucil and gained some weight as he's able to not have the food just run through him! Though he still doesn't always make it to the litter tray it’s much firmer poop and easy to clean up. He's just a total love bug and he's worth the work!   Update August 2017: We have him on a diet of canned food mixed with Metamucil and it does a relatively good job of firming up his stool but sometimes he still can't make the litter box, so he does have his own linoleum-floored room. And he does get out to hang out in the house when we can watch him to clean up after him if needed. We did have a scare earlier this month when he had a bout of colitis but the Vet said that can hit any cat and figured it was an isolated instance and so far she is right!   Update January 2019: It’s a new year and Briar is already 4.5 yrs old, wow time flies! We have worked out a specific food for him mixed with Metamucil and he is doing much better about getting to the litter box now. Still sometimes he has accidents but we are pleased that it is somewhat better and if you are looking to help support him the food is Fancy feast (Gravy Lovers chicken feast in grilled chicken flavor gravy).   Update January 2020: Briar continues to do well and he is just such a great cat and, besides cleaning up if he has an accident, his food mixture is very easy to do. And we also give him a Vitamin B12 shot weekly to help with absorption of nutrients; he’s very good about it. And like any long-hair cat, he gets Petromalt during shedding seasons - which he loves.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.A True People CatCricket is an older calico female with a medium coat, who my wife fostered as a kitten and then kept until we are now unable to keep her any longer.  She has been so affectionate that she's more like a dog, following us from room to room and sitting down in any lap that presented itself.  She will cuddle up with us, the neighbors, or anyone who comes to visit.  I honestly don't believe she's met a person that she didn't think would eventually finish their theoretically important business and get on to the real work of petting her.  She loves to be picked up, cuddled, or left to sit on a lap for hours.  She was happy with babies and patient with toddlers pulling her tail or chasing her.  She's a people cat.   Dogs have always been her friends.  Cats are not; they used to scare her, but now she's old enough to hiss and make them go away.  When she was younger she was an outdoor cat, but that was years ago.  Now she uses a litter box and just glances at birds and squirrels out the window.       Contact meshugganah@hotmail.com if you would like to meet Cricket. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Jesse is a tough guy at first, so he will most likely be hissy and want to slap you around a little (need to keep his nails trimmed) before he is convinced that you have good intentions. Once the formal introductions are done though, this antisocial behavior does pass and underneath it all is a little cub bear who would rather be on your lap taking pets than sparring with your hand. Jesse loves to run and chase and play with his foster mates, and for such a round looking kitten (he is a medium to long hair), he takes air easily with gravity defying jumps for the wand toys. Jesse is not a kitten for the first timer, and with a little patience and love will most likely be a softie, but there will be some short in-between time when you have to earn each other's trust. And hopefully he will never realize how good looking he is, and remain a humble cat.He still does not come to me, but is getting better every day with not panicking when approached for a pet. And once you start petting him he fights it a bit by backing up and squirming, but he does start to push back and direct you to where he is comfortable. When we start the day, I put him in my lap and he stays there on his own until the other 2 kittens drag him off me to wrestle and play with him. He needs someone with experience and an outgoing cat rather than a cat that would be scared and can potentially pull him in that direction. But he does love pets and if not distracted can do fine with pets on your lap. Medium energy.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.THIS animal listing is a COURTESY LISTING - not a 13th St Cat Rescue animal. See information about whom to contact in bio THANK YOU Joey is a true gentleman in his tuxedo. He adores attention and human companionship.  He a very handsome young man w/ a muscular build, a shiny and sleek coat, piercing yellow eyes and a heart of gold.  Joey is full of purrs, head butts, kisses and conversation.  He is a very good conversationalist and also a great listener!  He is best suited for a single cat home, indoor preferred, and will easily integrate himself into anyone's lap and family!  Joey's background definitely pulls @ heart strings.  He was abandoned at a horse ranch and left to fend for himself against coyotes, bobcats and harsh winter weather.  Thankfully he found shelter in the ranch's hay barn and caught the eye of a family who cares for the the barn cats.  This family quickly realized Joey had been battered by his new surroundings and approached him w/ carrier in tote.  Joey was willingly placed into a cat carrier and taken to the vet for immediate care.  He has healed perfectly and is currently being fostered but is waiting for his forever home.     Joey is a 2 year old, neutered, tuxedo male.  He is currently up to date on all shots and has tested negative for feline viruses.  For more information, please contact 408.410.6450 regarding Joey Tuxedo.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Calm, loving soulKiwi is a calm and loving soul. All she wants is a quiet, peaceful home where she can cuddle up to you and sleep. She loves attention but she needs to be the one to initiate it. She’s a chubby kitty but doesn’t realize it. She likes to crawl on you and lay WHEREVER she’s comfortable sitting. She talks to you when you pet her and when she wants your attention. She loves treats and to explore  when it’s quiet. Once she’s comfortable, she’s like one of the family. She’s only interacted with our other cat and he was mean for a very long time. She was very scared and we never introduced her to another animal. She does not like to be picked up but she will lay on you when she wants to be loved (which is often). She is an indoor only kitty and has excellent litter box habits. Kiwi has short hair and weights around 7.5 pounds. We took her in from an abusive home and she’s can be skittish. But she’s a great kitty If you are interested in adopting Kiwi, contact ms.tinamarie.v@gmail.com THIS animal listing is a COURTESY LISTING - not a 13th St Cat Rescue animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Friendly, Snuggler, PatientPua is a short haired male cat. We adopted him at 6 weeks of age.  Due to our small living environment and him being curious about what’s more in the world, we find it best to find him the proper home he deserves. He is fixed and does not spray. He loves treats and food and lots of snuggles throughout the day. He has lived with a small dog his whole life, however he has so much curiosity about other cats as he has a cat friend in our apartment complex. Pua is an indoor only cat who is also fully litter box trained (His favorite thing might be a new change of litter) He is also extremely playful throughout the day and would actually be great with another companion cat friend, so he is not lonely.  Some Facts about Pua :  - 3 Years old  - Fixed  -Domestic Short Hair - Color White and Grey  - OK with small dogs and cats  -Has come in contact with children a few times however doesn't think much of them  -Indoor Only  -Litter Box Trained  - Eats Dry Purina One brand kibble (Salmon or Chicken Flavor)  - Loves Treats and Pieces of Chicken For a nice snack , Or even the sound of whipped cream out of a can HAHA -Loves being Brushed  - Loves looking outside and having the window open for fresh air (As long as there is a screen)  - Loves company (Human or Cat/Small Dog)  Pua is also camera friendly as he was used to us taking lots of pictures of him from a very young age. He was also in the newspaper, mentioned on a couple of different rescue sites for the Warriors Pets, and also mentioned on the local NEWS)  We want to make sure this Boy goes to a loving family who can provide better than what we can. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Relaxed Guy with a Big PurrWell Trained - Black & White Tuxedo Cat Our RV and international traveling lifestyle will not allow us to keep Ricky who found us as a stray about 3 months ago (just before the shelter-in-place mandate started). He is a domesticated cat that was probably left at the Morgan Hill RV Park by accident. The vet estimates him to be a mature cat around 5 to 7 years old. We’ve had him long enough to know his personality. Here are a few more characteristics: He has been neutered and had a rabies shot recently. He is a slow, layed-back and a big cat (18pounds!). He gets along with other cats and dogs. Loves to have his head and under his chin scratched. Has a lion-like, LOUD purr. He lays on the floor most of the time except to settle into the one chair late at night. He’ll stare you down until you get out of “his” chair. He will sleep on the bed if you permit him but only at the foot of the bed. He is house-broken and only goes to the bathroom outside. We haven’t tried a cat box but he’s smart enough that he would figure it out. Sits at the door and meows or touches the door latch to be let out. We’re sure he would take to a cat-door. Loves it outside and will come when you call his name or “click” for him. Likes to walk around the RV park with us. Plays with shoe laces tied together, crumpled-up paper, pin light, small rocks in the garden.   Ricky has been a great companion. He deserves a loving individual to care for him.
