Meet Alejandro! He's our little shy boy we're currently working with and are dedicated to finding him a wonderful home. Alejandro is a small dog in a big world and hasn't built trust with people just yet but is progressing each day. He shows lots of interest in meeting new people although he has his ways of coping. He treats every visitor like an old fashion "first date". No touching! Alejandro loves the small talk and would rather hear more about you then talk about himself. Do you live alone, have kids, job, you know the basic stuff. Once he gets to know you better he will loosen up and admire you as you talk about how cute he is. Going for walks daily seems to help him build more confidence and that extra push. He may never be that outgoing guy but he will always be your guy. If your'e looking for someone to chat with or vent to just stop by and visit Alejandro. He's a great listener! If you are interested in adopting or fostering me, please email adopt@sanantoniopetsalive.org with my name and ID#. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of an additional pet who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in a San Antonio Pets Alive adoption center. Bama-Rama-Grey-Nose (Buttercup, 47976) Did you see Unbelievable-Cuteness walk by? That was me: Bama-Rama-Grey-Nose (aka Buttercup, because I am the sweetest!). I am that ball of purrfect fun (white part of me) and love (grey half of me), you need in your life! I was orphaned as a baby, along with my siblings (who are also grey and white). Since no one could foster me, I was a few hours away from being euthanized! My foster took us in, and we are now healthy and happy kittens, who love to play and eat! My foster says if she wasn't already a four time foster-fail, she would keep me! I am ready to be adopted! I would benefit from being adopted with one of my foster or biological brothers or sisters: I need to have a friend to play with. Thank you for taking the time to consider making me part of your family. Bottle-baby kittens make the best cats! Please check out my foster brother (Button, 47974) I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of an additional pet who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. Hey everyone, it's me Captain! Aka Captain Crunch, Captain America, and when I'm bad I get called Captain Hook! I just can't get enough love and always want more and more. I like to run and play with toys. The cool humans who take care of me are awesome. They fill my belly with food and I get delicious treats if I'm good or just look super cute. I've gained some weight since I've been here and I really like how I'm starting to look but I have a few more pounds to go. I have been working really hard on my basic commands and already conquered the "Sit". I am ready for my FURRever home. I love kids and other dogs and I think I would fit right into your family! Cats are cool sometimes too, but I LOVE to chase them! If you like to spoil your furry friends with lots of treats and belly rubs you should come on over and meet me! Hi! My name is Disco and I was found under a dumpster but am now living the high life at my foster mama's. Guys, my name is not happenstance. My foster mama calls me Disco because I am a high energy party all the time kitty! I love stalking, hand to hand combat, and biting your feet as you walk. But don't worry; I have a sweet side, too. I will enthusiastically greet you when you come home. I have an amazing purr. And I love to be held and carried like a baby! It's the best! Once I'm all partied out, I will crawl into your lap for a nice baby nap. At night I enjoy a nice fluffy blanket to nurse on before I go to bed. Don't I sound like the best cat ever?? I do need an energetic sibling, though, because a party life is more fun when there's two! Send my foster mom an email so I can live my fearless, parkour inspired life with you! Faith 48331, Female, Domestic Shorthair Calico Good with cats Good with kids Dogs unknown Hi, My name is Faith, but my friends call me Beyonce. I'm looking for an assistant. Let me tell you a little bit about myself first. I love to sing, I sing when I play with my friends, I sing when I'm hungry, I sing when I'm lonely, I sing when I'm happy. I will tell you all about anything that isn't up to my exacting standards, and there is a lot of work that needs to be done around here. As my assistant you will be in charge of holding me and carrying me where I want to go, procuring tasty, tasty wet food, and approving of any new songs I create. You will need to be available at all hours because one never knows when the muse will strike. I expect to be pet with both hands and to be carried on a shoulder so I can see. If you must go to "work", I demand that you provide a temp to see to my needs. A cat or gentle dog will do, as long as you aren't gone too long. While this is a tough job, I promise to be a caring employer and provide deserved praise, cuddles, and purrs. Fill out an application to be considered for this highly desirable role as my assistant. I look forward to meeting with you to assess your qualifications. I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. UPDATE: Hope is doing really well. She will do best in a home without other dogs or small children. Because she is blind, she can be frightened by too much commotion or noise and she's not able to tell when another dog just wants to play, or not. Hope is a female, 2-year old Labrador Retriever blend. She is a complete sweetheart! She is great with other dogs and loves to play with them and loves her toys too. Hope was saved from euthanasia at the city shelter by San Antonio Pets Alive. Hope had been shot and had a severely injured hip. She was also malnourished. She went to a San Antonio Pets Alive foster home to gain needed weight. Once her bloodwork improved, along with gaining 15 lbs and energy, the veterinarian cleared Hope for surgery. She underwent a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) - an orthopedic surgical procedure that helps restore pain-free mobility to her damaged hip due to the bullet that was found. She is recovering wonderfully and now looking for her forever home! Updates from her foster home: - She is a great eater and doesn't bark- she's a quiet one :) - She has learned to walk on a lead well, and she loves sleeping on her bed or in the sunshine - Her sight is not restored, but she does follow hand claps and comes when her name is called- very well! - She is housebroken and enjoys relaxing in her kennel. - She gets along great with the dogs in her foster home and would do wonderful with a "guide" dog friend of her own! I am currently located in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of an additional pet who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. Hey there! My name is Izzy! I'm an adorable girl, and I know it! I went to my foster mama's home when I was five weeks old and have been with her ever since. I am an extremely adventurous fur kid. I love to run, climb and explore. If you're looking for a passive, cuddly, lay-in-your arms kitten, I am not your girl. I am full of fire, very fast and am an escape artist. I allegedly bit someone when I was a baby, but I promise I didn't mean any harm. Just to be on the safe side though, I am not recommended for young children. I need a responsible mom or dad that realizes that I need my space and can run me down when I head straight for the door! I am requesting an indoor home only. My adventurous side gets the best of me and if I am let outdoors, I likely won't return. I would be very happy with another kitten to play with; I do get bored on my own. I love toys, especially those crinkly foil balls that you can buy me at the pet store. Please contact San Antonio Pets Alive to arrange for a meet and greet! I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of an additional pet who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. Meeko 48111, Male Domestic Shorthair Black (very short fur, curly undercoat) Good with cats Good with kids Dogs unknown Is. . .is it my turn? Hi, I'm Meeko. I would like someone to cuddle and snuggle me and give me their full attention. If you have time, I mean, I wouldn't want to impose, I know there is an order to things and I know how to be patient and wait my turn. I would love it if you had somekitty at your home for me to play with. I promise I'm very gentle with my paws, and I just love to jump out from behind things and surprise my friends with a pounce tackle. I could probably figure out a dog, but would need your help learning that they were safe to play with. I love my covered cat bed and my toys. My foster mom tells me my coat is very special. I'm already graying with salt and pepper fur and it's half curly! I don't mind if you pet me backwards, it's all the same to me as long as you use both hands. Maybe we could meet and see if I'm the kitten for you? I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. Miles 48113, Male, Domestic Shorthair Black Good with cats Good with kids Dogs unknown Hi, I'm Miles. Look into my eyes and I will tell your future. Keep staring. I got nothing, but that was great, wasn't it? If you love staring into huge kitten eyes, then we are going to be best buds. My other interests are bouncing around like gravity doesn't exist and casually trying to figure out "what is that thing?!" I like being held and told that I'm fantastic and I love playing with my toys. My kitten friends are great and I would love to have some cats of my own to play with. Dogs might be okay, but I would need a little help learning how to work with them. If you can provide toys, food, and a shoulder to climb on, we should meet so you can learn how awesome I am. Nessie has really come out of her shell while being fostered. Her dream home would have another dog and a fenced backyard to play in. She loves to play with other dogs and take walks, but will also lounge around with you. Nessie recently spent the weekend with a family that had two young children and got a 5 star review. Her ideal day would be sprinting around outside with a playmate, eating a yummy snack, getting some belly rubs, and taking a nap on a comfy chair. Nessie is never aggressive towards people or other dogs and is truly a gentle and sweet girl! She also walks well on a leash and does not lunge or sprint off after dogs, squirrels, etc. She sits every time she gets to the door after a walk and listens extremely well. Occasionally she will steal a sock or shoe, but will immediately give it up without problem when you tell her to. It does not take her long to put her trust in you and after that, you will be her best friend. I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. Pebble 48036, Female ~3 months old, 2 lbs Domestic Shorthair Blue (Gray) Good with cats Good with kids Dogs unknown Human cat bed wanted: Hi, I'm Pebble. I'm looking for a special kind of human who I can sit on all day and all night. The ideal candidate will have hands for petting my fur, but the most important qualification is a high quality lap and beautiful eyes for me to stare into. Bonus points for candidates that have another cat for me to play with in between my lap sitting sessions. I would consider a home with dogs, but need to be convinced they will be safe to be around. As a fastidious cat, I always clean up after myself and use the litter box. Occasionally I get excited at nibble at fingers, but they are just so tasty who could resist? The other cats love me and I make friends in record time-- the last introduction took about 10 seconds before I was napping on my new friends. Send in an application and lets find out if we are a purrfect match. I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. UPDATE ... Penelope has now been with us 2 weeks and continues to be quite a charmer. She loves everyone she meets. She walks well on a leash, gets along with her canine foster siblings, and is mostly crate trained (she will cry a little bit at first). She hasn't shown any signs of aggression towards our cat, but her curiosity gets the best of her and she has upset our cat by getting too close. We are continuing to work with her, and a future home does need to monitor her around felines. She has not been around children yet, but is mild-mannered and moves at a very moderate speed. She is quick to claim the softest place to lay and loves stealing her foster siblings beds. She also loves stuffed toys! However, her ultimate joy is being near her humans and getting a good head scratch. She's make a great addition to your family. You can catch other Penelope moments at her foster family's Instagram:@adeanadventure and watch her video here: https://youtu.be/ygVQ5MriQ1Q ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Piggy is 4 years old and weighs about 45 lbs. She's a sweet and friendly girl. Piggy (We've dubbed her Penelope) Gender: female Estimated Size when full grown: 45 pounds Pet's Animal ID Number: 536342 Breed: American Staffordshire Coat Length: short Age: 4 years Housebroken: yes Piggy/Penelope appreciates the simple things in life, like napping and head scratches. She is crate trained. She settled very quickly into her new environment and has displayed positive reactions when catching glimpses of our resident dogs. Overall, Penelope is a sweetheart who loves easily. She doesn't require much but to be loved in return. http://www.maeganharless.com/2019/08/13/penelope-needing-a-forever-home-round-rock-texas/ I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. Hello...my name is Sadie. I was living on the streets of San Antonio. It was hard living out there trying to raise my puppies on my own. I was really scared but I was finally caught with my pups and we ended up in the city shelter. My pups have all found homes except for me. I'm scared and luckily found a foster family to help me relax, enjoy the good life and is patient with me. I'm starting to come around. I got on the sofa and sat with my foster family on the other side. I love to be petted but just unsure of everything, still. My foster mom tells me I'm beautiful everyday and how special I am. Hoping to maybe find my forever home and can bond with them too. I'm going to be a loyal/loving girl, I just need a little time. It still amazes me watching the other dogs interact with my human foster mom....not something I have ever seen. I'm not too big at 40 lbs. I'm all legs really. Hoping there's someone out there who will fall in love with my sweet face and give me a chance. I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. Sugar SAPA-A-45902 Female Good with Dogs Not good with cats Unknown with children We believe Sugar is about 2-3 yrs and she was a mother to 6 very healthy pups that have already found their forever home, it's now their mama's turn to find her "furever" home. Sugar is incredibly sweet and fun to have. She loves to hunt for flies in the house or in the backyard and is pretty good at catching them. Stuffed squeaky toy are her weakness and the toys tremble with fear when she is around because she will find their center and rip is out. She is kennel trained and it is recommended that she continues to be in a kennel or locked into a room/ bathroom when you aren't home. She isn't destructive but she does like to climb onto things, such as counters, tables, and if she can she might try to climb higher onto pantries or refrigerators if she can. Aside from being a toy murderer she is very sweet and has alot of energy, so she would be a great running partner. If you have a hyper dog or puppy and would like to get them a playmate, Sugar would be a great dog to have because she is very good with playful dogs. She is not good with cats, however, because she like to chase and nip them and could potentially hurt them. Sugar is very cute; however, she can ONLY go home with an experienced dog owner. She is going to have to gain the trust of her future owner which can take time but believe me when I say it is worth it. I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of an additional pet who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. Hello! My name is Luttrell because I am a survivor. I was one of three and I fought hard to stay alive. I may be small but my appetite is not. I Love to eat, you can say its my favorite thing to do. But I can be picky, I usually rather eat the good stuff; canned or the human food my foster family eats. I have favorite food like; macaroni and cheese, tuna, and steak. I like to be spoiled; but I don't require a lot of attention. I do like to be around people or other animals though. Im great with other cats and dogs are ok but they scare me. When it comes to people I like to snuggle next to them on the couch or on a soft blanket. I like to play on cat trees and any toys that make noise. I don't know why but I am not good at meowing, my foster family says I sound like a sick baby raptor when I try to meow. I am used to having multiple pets in the home and as well as a busy home. I can be shy at times with new people but I like to be bossy once I know you. I like things to go my way so if I don't like something you'll know; I will usually run away or do my baby raptor meow. I am told I am very smart because I learned to use the litter box at a young age. I also know where I get fed because I will run to my feeding area when my foster parents wake up or when I am hungry. I am a big baby in a fat little body and I am ready to go home to my furever family. I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home.
