You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Apollo! A gorgeous 55-pound shepherd-lab mix born in 2016, Apollo was found on the harsh streets of Texas with a severe break to his front leg that required amputation, given the damage from being left untreated. Don’t worry though, because Apollo has adjusted beautifully as a tripod! Despite the suffering he has endured, he remains sweet, loving and so very friendly to people and other dogs! Apollo is a couch potato but would thrive in a home with a fenced yard for his fun moments.  Apollo can be a bit independent and may need some space until he gets comfortable. After that, be prepared to give belly rubs!  He is a bit nervous around small children, and although he peacefully coexists with his foster cat sibling, he sometimes will engage the cat in a game of chase.  He is housetrained, leash trained and neutered--no crate for this boy!  A house with no stairs, or just a few carpeted stairs, would be best and Apollo needs short walks due to a torn ACL in another leg. Apollo's favorite things are  chew toys, belly rubs and kisses. He absolutely hates goats and flies!  If you would like to be the lucky one who gets to give this beautiful golden-eyed boy his happy ever after, please fill out an adoption application for Apollo here! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Archer! Archer is a male Mastiff mix rescued in South Carolina. Our veterinary partner estimates Archer to be approximately four years old at the time of intake in February 2020.  Archer is great with people of all ages, other dogs and even cats.  Rescue Dogs Rock NYC was asked to help this sweet boy after another dog attacked him in his kennel at the shelter. He had an ear injury and was limping on both rear legs.  Of course, we said YES, and brought Archer immediately to our vet partner where it was discovered that he not only needed an amputation of one leg, but also surgery on the other leg.  Fast forward, and Archer has had both surgeries and doing fabulously!  Archer has big soulful eyes filled with so much love. He is a sweet boy with an amazing temperament who enjoys lonnnnng snuggles with his “person”! He does need joint supplements, and will do best in a forever home with few stairs due to his amputation.  Archer is fully house and crate trained, he loves toys and chew bones but he is not much of a player. He is super laid back, lounges in his bed and just chews on his toys alone. His idea of “playtime” is barking at his younger foster doggy siblings while they play around the house! . If you have room in your heart and home for this big boy, please apply to adopt Archer at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Beanie is a female Boxer mix rescued in Texas.  Our veterinary partner estimates that Beanie is a year old at the time of intake in June 2020.  Beanie is good with people of all ages and other dogs.  What a sad story our Beanie has.  She was adopted out by a shelter in Texas six months ago as a healthy puppy.  Beanie thought that was her happy ever after, but unbeknownst to the shelter, Beanie was living in a house of horrors.  Beanie was recently returned to that shelter with two broken front legs.  Our veterinary partner advises that Beanie was likely confined in a crate that was too small, causing her wrists to break from the constricted movement.  We are happy that Beanie was returned to that shelter and that the shelter asked us to take Beanie in.  We will fix her up and make sure that she goes on to live a happy, wonderful life this time.  A life she had no chance of living until we rescued her.  Beanie will require surgery on both front legs, but we would like to have her forever home waiting for her.  If you can show Beanie that a happy, loving forever home is really forever, and you can make Beanie an important part of your family, please apply online to adopt Beanie at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less
