Meet Allie, she's a 5 yr old female am staff type originally pulled from a central california shelter. Poor girl had bad knees made worse by the cold kennel floors. She was pulled and transported to us and adopted out where shes been a loved an well cared for addition to her family. Turns out via x rays her bad knee was a result of an old break, she was used and abused before coming to us. Her other knee was over compensating so once we got her comfy beds, and on anti imflammatories things perked up for her. Turns out shes been off all meds for well over a year. Her family reports that keeping her trim and on short walks is all she needs. She lives a comfy life now, no hard cement floors to sleep on is what she needed to feel better. She can take anti imflammatories as needed which are pretty inexpensive. 30 day supply is less than $40 and if only given when needed they would last a long while. The reason Allie is available for adoption again is not her fault. Her family reports shes very behaved, good in a crate, LOVES kids, gentle with their baby and good with other dogs, house trained, BUT their new baby is very very allergic to dogs, grass, and other things. When the dog goes outside and brings in grass the baby gets full body break outs. They've started wiping Allie down fully every time she goes out, but its not enough. They do not want to lose her, but have limited options and don't want to ban her to a garage-shes a family pet and a good one. So Allie needs a new home, hopefully one who will stay in touch to make the transition easier. She's a solid girl, coming in just under 60lbs and needs to stay fit for her knees and over all health. She will make an awesome family pet. They are fixed, vaccinated, and adoption includes being microchipped, current on flea/tick prevention meds and has been dewormed. They come with a collar, 2 free vet exams, a bag of grain free dog food, and a private training session with certified trainer, and more! adoption fee: $250. We accept Cash and Debit/Credit Cards. There is a 2.5% fee if using a card at the time of adoption. Allie's family has all her food and goodies she'd like to go home with her as well. Meet 1-2 yr old shepherd mix, Arwen. She came to us from Fresno Humane, we were told possibly pregnant. Thankfully she wasn't and has since been in foster care getting over a case of kennel cough. Foster mom says: She is super sweet and mellow, great with other dogs and non reactive to cats. No accidents in the home, you can tell shes been abused or mistreated at some point, timid at times but once she trusts shes so loving. Loves her food, but not aggressive at all when it comes to it with people or other animals. She is happiest snuggling against her people. Loves having her head in your lap. They are fixed, vaccinated, and adoption includes being microchipped, current on flea/tick prevention meds and has been dewormed. Meet 6-8 month old Lady, rottie type mix. She came to us from Fresno area and was being surrendered to the CCSCPA. She was being hidden in an apartment but landlords found out. She came in timid and shy, especially of men. She does warm up just needs a little time. No fear of woman. Playful with other dogs once she warms up she loves to run. She is medium energy at most. She is great in a crate-doesnt make a peep, doing well with house training as long as she is given potty breaks. She likes toys and treats- very food motivated. In foster with large and small dogs, and cats. Fine with dog savvy cats but also wants to initiate play at times. She has lots to learn but she is wanting to please her people. She has a docked tail, rottie build but on the small size- we are calling her a mini rottie since she is only 45lbs and won't get too much bigger. They are fixed, vaccinated, and adoption includes being microchipped, current on flea/tick prevention meds and has been dewormed. They come with a collar, 2 free vet exams, a bag of grain free dog food, and a private training session with certified trainer, and more! adoption fee: $400. We accept Cash and Debit/Credit Cards. Meet 1 yr old Racer, he came to us from another rescue in Oregon. He was originally adopted out as a puppy but returned a year later. Racer is one of those dogs with high prey drive and needs a very active home. He will excel in dog sports and needs a home experienced with working breeds, or someone wanting to get into dog sports who can put time into training with him Racer is smart, easy to train, food motivated. Gets along fine with dogs, no small animals due to his energy levels or small kids. He will resource guard toys/food and currently will only be available to an experienced home. He would 100% thrive in an active home- someone who runs would be his dream. He would love hiking too! He is crate and leash trained. House trained too! Lean build, medium sized but tall. Approx 60lbs. We were told lab mix, but we think either dobie, aussie, collie, or similar type in there. Would thrive with a job. They are fixed, vaccinated, and adoption includes being microchipped, current on flea/tick prevention meds and has been dewormed. They come with a collar, 2 free vet exams, a bag of grain free dog food, and a private training session with certified trainer, and more! adoption fee: $50. We accept Cash and Debit/Credit Cards. Meet 1 yr old shepherd mix, Stryker. He came to us skin and bones with a terrible case of kennel cough from Fresno Humane. He has been treated and now ready for his forever family. This little dude comes in at about 50lbs and full grown. He will make a wonderful family pet. Foster mom says: He is very affectionate and smart...not to mention handsome, and his lopsided ears send his look over the top. Stryker has been in a foster home with another GSD mix, 3 cats, a rabbit, and ducks. While interested in the smaller animals he's not been aggressive, and his foster family believes that with careful introductions he'll win over all the cats or small animals in your household. He's a bit of a timid guy (a lover not a fighter), and might enjoy having the guidance of an older more experienced dog sibling. He's been learning some basic commands like sit, stay, outside, etc. and is essentially house trained and crate trained, but, of course, would benefit from additional obedience skills and training as well as gaining comfort and confidence on leash. You won't find a sweeter dog to join your family! If your Valentine's wish didn't come true then maybe Stryker is for you! He's only had 2 accidents in my house and that was mostly my fault - it was the first 2 nights and I didn't year recognize his "I need to poop!" signs. They are fixed, vaccinated, and adoption includes being microchipped, current on flea/tick prevention meds and has been dewormed. PLEASE READ FULL BIO BEFORE APPLYING TO ADOPT. There will be NO exceptions to what Teddy needs in his forever home. Meet handsome 1 yr old Teddy. He is a 3/4 Havanese 1/4 Shih Tzu mix who was an owner surrender to us. Teddy was purchased as a pup, but early on his family noticed some behavioral issues with him. Being their first dog they did the right thing by him and sough medical advice and training advice. Medical issues were ruled out and a behaviorst began working with the family. Teddy has made a lot of progress but he still needs a very confident, dog savvy forever home. Absolutely NO children full time in the home under the age of 13. See Teddy likes kids, in fact he is in foster with kids who are very dog savvy, but Teddy has what we call melt downs which can make it a little unsafe for kids when he gets in his mood. Teddy generally gives very very clear signals that he needs space when hes in the middle of a melt down, but young children just don't understand. Teddy LOVES other dogs, he is a bit intimidated by dogs larger than him but can warm up. But a playmate his size is very much needed in his forever home. He looks to the other dogs for guidence on how to behave and what is appropriate. Teddy seems to have a pain stimuli response. The only time we've seen his meltdowns is when he's hurt himself and he panics. For example while rough housing with another foster dog in the home, he was mildly hurt and his response was to run away crying to her person, BUT once his person attempted to help he responded by trying to bite (did not connect). He then hid himself away under the dining room table growling any time his person walked by. He was immediately ignored and it took about 3 hours for him to finally "move on" from the incident and by the next morning he was back to his normal self. He will bully his people into things by trying to be "tough" and he needs to be told to knock it off which in turn makes him actually feel more secure, once he knows you WILL NOT put up with him trying to call all the shots, he minds very well. He has had about 3 melt downs in the nearly 6 weeks he's been in foster. The first was the worst and then the other two he was much quicker to "forgive" and "forget" whatever it was that startled him and move on from the incident. Teddy HATES his crate. His previous family said it was his safe place, but we have not found that to be accurate at all. In fact we've seen his "aggressive" side amp up in the crate- lunging - barking- growling. This is not an issue in his current foster and he's not crated and a very good boy when out. He hasn't had accidents in his current foster with regular potty breaks. He came to us on 2 presciption meds from his previous home who said initially they saw improvement with prozac and trazadone, but after sometime on it no improvement noted. We have weened him off these completely since they did not curb his behavior. Teddy is NON shedding, soft and needs regular grooming. Last time his family took him for grooming the groomer said he would need sedated to returned. We do think Teddy could get through grooming with a muzzle though. His foster is working on muzzle training now-putting muzzle on briefly, taking off, giving a treat and disengaging so he learns the muzzle is a good thing! But this will need time and continued work so that his next appt is positive. Meet 1 yr old Winter, she came to use from a shelter in Bakersfield Ca. She came in very underweight. She has been in foster for nearly 5 weeks gaining weight and working on confidence. She is dog, people, and kid friendly. She was likely abused at some point in her life because she will cower and hide away with loud voices. She is doing great with everyone in foster and as much as they love her and considered adopting her, they feel she will be happier over all in a calmer home without another puppy and young kiddo like they have. She would do great with gentle children who aren't screaming and jumping up n down all around her. She would be great as a companion to other dogs too. Crate and house trained but shes smart so have to make sure that crate is secure or she can open the door easily. Foster mom says shes the sweetest ever and begs for love and affection. Very calm in the home, will run and play more when outside. Gentle player, picky eater, non aggressive with food, just a bit nervous at times due to her past. She is 40lbs, full grown but might fill out a bit more. They are fixed, vaccinated, and adoption includes being microchipped, current on flea/tick prevention meds and has been dewormed. They come with a collar, 2 free vet exams, a bag of grain free dog food, and a private training session with certified trainer, and more! adoption fee: $350. We accept Cash and Debit/Credit Cards. There is a 2.5% fee if using a card at the time of adoption.
